". . . And Hillary Clinton Will Never Be President of the United States."

Good morning, kids. Tragic story about that plane crash, so condolences and prayers for the victims and loved ones. In other news, the recount is all but dead, but one important purpose will be to delegitimize Trump and his agenda with the totally phony popular vote argument. Somehow, I think (that is, pray) he hangs tough with the Dems and the GOP-e wing of the Democrat Party. And by the way, the Democrats will never give up on destroying the Electoral College. It has almost no shot at happening. For now. Other than that, the cabinet picks continue including David Petraeus appearing as a dark horse for Secretary of State. Hmm. And with all the state houses, governorships and legislatures, Article V looms larger and larger. At the very least they are talking balanced budget and term limits. Anyway, have a better one and remain blessed.

3 Good Morning Daywalkers!

Off to Barrancas National Cemetery again, this time its a visit to lay to rest my father's brother who passed away just over a month after my father from complications of a stroke he suffered just 3 days before my fathers funeral.

This year has been particularly brutal for my father's side of the family, one of his two sisters died last January as well.

6 JJ I have been praying for an Art V for years.    I think the critics are badly mistaken on objecting to it.  Because it is the last hope for fixing this mess w/o blood running in the streets.

The critics have no earthly idea how rare our own revolution against the King of England was without the mass killings afterwards.

14 6 Posted by: Vic We Have No Party at November 29, 2016 06:34 AM (mpXpK) Me too. Term limits and balanced budget are crucial. I'd like to see other things like ability to override SCOTUS decisions, flat/fair tax and some other great ideas from Levin's book, but for now this is a very good start.

I don't know about you, but one of the most depressing things about getting up in the morning is knowing the alarm is just about to go off, yet you're feeling utterly relaxed, the bed is warm and cosy and you know you could just lie there for another couple of hours with no difficulty at all. And then its 5am. Ugh. Anyway, on the art thread yesterday I posted a picture of the silent actress Marie Doro, a lovely little doll-like, scrumptious woman. 76 @51 He or she is going to be Trump's point person on the world stage and despite or maybe because of his desire to focus on domestic issues this person is going to have a full and significant plate. The world isn't getting any less complex. ======================== You're right, the world is complex and getting more so. The trade representative will have his or her hands full working through Trump's campaign promises. Weapons negotiators and monitors will have their hands full, watching the Nork's especially. Defense will play a role, obviously, since we have troops involved in, what is it now, six shooting wars? And CIA/NSA will also play a huge role. My own sense of the State role is that it has been less consequential over time than trade and defense, and more ceremonial. It sometimes even seems State's involvement goes beyond frippery to actually become counter-productive to national interest, like with the Iran deal they are so proud of. I guess my point is that there is no one point agency for representing the President's foreign policy. And, if there is, Defense or maybe CIA has been on point over the last twenty years or so, more than State.

This slug was in jail in AR for a long sentence. Huckabee reduced his sentence in AR to an amount making him immediately eligible for parole which he got.  W/O that this career violent criminal would have still been in jail and those 4 cops in WA would still be alive.  At least now he got his long deserved dirt nap and no wishy-washy asshole can reduce that sentence.

Her strategy IS to delay delay delay.  The Democrats HAVE to be in collusion with her on this.

97 Issa finally gets the nod in his SD district.  This had generally been an easy run for him but here is the AP's thinly disguised attack on Trump for the only "narrow victory".

For years, the eight-term congressman and chief antagonist of President Barack Obama and Democrat Hillary Clinton faced scant competition in the Republican-leaning district. But Donald Trump's presence on the top of the ticket and diversifying electorate opened the way for a tight contest.

This is one of the ways the biased MFM works.  The main reason Issa had a rough time was Trump.  But oh, the "diversifying population" may have had some impact too.  A real report would have said the flood of illegals and Mexicanization of CA and San Diego was the major reason for it.

But in a way, there is and that person is the Secretary of State. State is responsible for helping coordinate all foreign affairs which includes all of the above and beyond. States touches every organization that has anything to do with foreign affairs and helps coordinate an overall policy response. Some of done it really poorly such as Hillary but the job has always been one of the most significant positions in the Executive branch. Remains to be seen how Trump handles the assignment but this is why there has been so much focus and consternation about the appointment. If history is any guide, this is among the most significant appointments Trump will make and it will have a profound effect on his presidency.

It really doesn't matter what people want at the end of the day, math wins. This election has proven that a lot of the crap that the left and the media claim are dead wrong. Rather than privatizing Medicare killing it, it would make it less costly and a better offer in the long run.

Something has to change or else the $200+ Trillion - TRILLION - in unfunded liabilities will sink our society. And privatization, if in the form of say health savings accounts and real free market alternatives/incentives of private citizens to invest in is the way to go. Pain is not in doubt. The only question is how painful, how long the suffering and its arrival.

So then why agonize about trying to figure out "when they crack and go violent", if it is uncertain or impossible. Just stop letting them in here. The left idolize Castro, a paranoid dictator who killed anyone suspected of opposing him. But the same left also gleefully imports *actual* seditionists like Artan and the Tsarnaevs. I'm not saying we need to execute them, like Castro. 182 I know I've mentioned the Somali problem here in my town. In Denver they built a neat planned community on the site of the old Stapleton airport - in addition to a variety of homes (to accommodate small to growing families and incomes) it's full of walking/jogging trails, interactive parks for kids, public pools, etc.  However, there a new menace: the Stapleton development borders Aurora on two side - Aurora whose population is ~50% immigrant (sanctuary city!). Well, the nearby Somalis have discovered what easy pickings Stapleton is, and it is being dismantled like a grounded supertanker. No more furniture on spacious front porches (stolen), no more leaving your garage door open while you work in a project in your garage (all tools stolen when you go inside for a drink) or leave your car running while you hop inside for that thing you forgot to grab on the way out (car stolen - even an attempt w/kids in back seat), and thiefs will hide in the bushes by the garage door in the morning, so that as the door descends they roll under it and rob the house.

Yay, immigration and refugees! Turning nice, safe communities into 3rd world hell holes in no time flat!!

Exactly! And let's stop pretending the family isn't aware of it and/or in on it. Haven't read anything about the OSU dude, but it was shown in the San Bernardino shooting, Orlando shooting, and NYC/NJ bombing that the family knew the dude was planning an attack, and either helped or reacted to save themselves.

Appeasement is and has always been nothing more than a road to failure and ruin.  All it does is teach aggressors that aggression is rewarded with capitulation.  Ask any nerd that got bullied - a bully only stops bullying when you smash his face in or make an object lesson of another bully..

In the end, might makes right.  That's not the moral and ethical outlook, but that's how the world works.  If you believe you have rights, you had better back 'em up with muscle, steel, or lead, or the first person to challenge them gets to impose on you.

226 Morning, Horde. The collapse of two of the three recount efforts fills me with a warm feeling and gives me a schadenboner, which has yet to subside. Here's hoping everybody's schadenboners/ladyboners are nice and, uh, bonery. Regarding an Article V convention, I have been deeply skeptical that it can be controlled to maintain focus on the desired outcomes. If it can, however, a balanced budget amendment, an amendment limiting all terms (two terms for senators, 4 or 5 for congressmen would be ideal), and an amendment mandating sunset provisions for all laws would be my agenda.

227 Someone mentioned jazz guy Mose Allison dying upthread- He was alright if you were in the right mood. His music was sort of light New Orleans stylish piano sung with a 50's jazzbo beatnik kind of voice. Though to be honest, I think most of his acclaim came from his lyrics which usually were some variation of the smug snarkiness which progtards find so alluring and "clever" or "hilarious". Here's a very representative sample, the title track from Allison's "comeback album in the 80's, "Ever Since the World Ended" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKwCCLIXhUM If you listen to the whole thing, you'll hear a mindset which would fit right in with all the Screaming Hillarytards (TM)- but, sheathed in some nice low-level lazy jazz Drinking bourbon from a jelly jar on your porch on a hot Southern summer night kind of thing.

231 >>That is the old racist meme. White Cubans=Spanish invaders. Afro Cubans=slaves. Somewhere they leave out the Native Cuba, injuins! It's even worse than that. Communists and the Soviet Union in particular made a big push into the African community during the Cold War days always preaching that communism was much more friendly to blacks and other minorities than evil western capitalism. If you travel around Africa, not only will you see communist relics from the Cold War days but active communist parties in many areas. It didn't happen by osmosis, it was a key foreign policy of the Soviets. You can see similar things all around Latin America including Cuba. Cultivating minority communities was a huge part of the Soviet plan. Castro was a big Soviet puppet as we all know and adopted many of the same policies. Hell, lefties and other Soviet influencers did a lot of the same thing here which is why so many black groups in the 60's had strong communist roots. This is the environment Obama and many of his fellow travelers were raised in and it explains their fascination and love for Castro.

281 >>Why is it lefties always go after Black voters? Historical precedent mainly. Again, go back and look at communist expansion during the Cold War. It was a completely different time and particularly in the 3rd world, colonialism was still very much alive. Communists had no shot of influencing the established powers so they went to the disaffected masses. Mandela didn't become a communist by accident, he was recruited as were black leaders and followers all over the world including here. And it wasn't just winning their votes. It was "fundamental change" as it related to the established powers. Che Guevara spent much of his time after the revolution traveling the world recruiting and influencing these disaffected types and he also made overtures to the black community here. And it wasn't to win votes but to recruit them to change the system. The beret wearing Black Panthers and other 60's radicals weren't trying to win votes so much as revolution by any means necessary.

292 >>You posted that? Where did Trump ever say his wall would be all Brick and Motor? The Walls in Israel are not? The point of a "Wall" is to stop and or funnel people into more easily controlled venues. He said it pretty much non-stop during the campaign. Here is one of his tweets from August 25, 2015. I had to remove some of his punctuation including exclamation points because of minx 0.0000001: Jeb Bush just talked about my border proposal to build a fence Its not a fence Jeb its a WALL and there's a BIG difference As I said, I have been defending Trump on his move on this issue because I view the wall as a metaphor and and actual brick and mortar wall is not always the best solution. And I've received a bunch of pushback here for doing so. So you are in violent agreement with me. I don't think either of us would be considered a leftwing troll.

This might actually be a much better point than they usually make, if the dude actually wanted to get a gun and couldn't. One could perhaps have some fun responding to this point by calling them out on saying that they think it's a good idea to keep guns out of poor innocent refugees' hands. Heh.  Way back in 1994,  young and dumb Agent Cooper got a job at my current employer, just as a temporary part time gig to help pay for college.  When I got my degree in whatever I was going to do for "real", I was going to be out of here.

22 years later, I'm still here.  And no college degree.

It's not bad.  I'm not rich but I do pretty well for a dude without a degree.  I chuckle a little at my friends who finished college and spent their first 10 years of working paying off loans.  I met my awesome wife at the job, settled down, started raising a family.  I live in the area I grew up in, family is close.  I have a six mile commute.  On nice days I ride my bike in.  There's been ups and downs, and times when I thought about bailing.  But it's all worked out very well, actually.

Being at the same job for over 20 years in unheard of these days.  Young guys nowadays would kill for that kind of employment stability.  I consider myself very lucky.

In the first week, Hemmer called her "Solie" on air, as a term of endearment. You could see her color come up in rage as she tried to plaster a smile on her face, while saying "Solie, hmmm? I like that!" It was obvious that in fact she fucking HATED being referred to by anything other than her full name. But she didn't want to blow up on camera, so she controlled herself. I can imagine what happened during the commercial break, though. Hemmer never used that nickname on air for her again after that day. Posted by: IllTemperedCur at November 29, 2016 09:42 AM (XWkhW) It was the nasty look on her face while covering the 2008 GOP convention that did it for me. She could not control herself and cover it straight.

434 While a controversial figure, both Mr. Whiplash's supporters and detractors recognized his tremendous dedication and love for both train-wrecking and Miss Nell Fenwick, who, in turn, had a deep and lasting affection for "el Comandante", Dudley Do-Right's horse--not unlike the complicated relationship between my parents and Uncle Fidel. On behalf of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, I apologize for being a semi-educated over-stimulated juvenile delinquent masquerading as a head of state. Go Red Wings!

437 Yes, go for it. Make the Democrat Party the "No Whites Need Apply" Party. Posted by: rickl - THE MEDIA IS LYING TO YOU at November 29, 2016 09:22 AM (zoehZ) This isn't as far-fetched as it sounds. The most powerful Democrat in AL, Joe Reed, explicitly stated that he wanted only blacks on the state's Democrat Executive Committee. That's pretty much what he got, too.
