Sham: Transcripts Reveal Comey Decided He Was Going to Let Hillary Skate Long Before Investigation Was Over
— Ace

Rigged investigation. Pretty much the entire spectacle of American "democracy" is a stage-managed, scripted reality TV show for the rubes.

According to new transcripts released by the Senate Judiciary Thursday afternoon, former FBI Director James Comey made the decision not to refer then Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton for prosecution long before ever interviewing key witnesses. Members of the Committee allege Comey made the decision months before FBI agents were finished with the criminal investigation of her mishandling classified information during her time as Secretary of State.

The transcripts were revealed in a letter sent to current FBI Director Christopher Wray, in which lawmakers are demanding an explanation and more documents surrounding the case.

"According to the unredacted portions of the transcripts, it appears that in April or early May of 2016, Mr. Comey had already decided he would issue a statement exonerating Secretary Clinton. That was long before FBI agents finished their work. Mr. Comey even circulated an early draft statement to select members of senior FBI leadership. The outcome of an investigation should not be prejudged while FBI agents are still hard at work trying to gather the facts," the letter, signed by Chairman Chuck Grassley and Committee member Lindsey Graham states.

"Conclusion first, fact-gathering second--that's no way to run an investigation. The FBI should be held to a higher standard than that, especially in a matter of such great public interest and controversy."

This is partly why they're so insanely angry -- they put the fix in and pulled out all the stops, but it didn't work.

They're terrified that they're losing power and may one day even be held to account for what they've done.

32 There are actually three scandals here. The absurd lawlessness of not charging Hillary and many others for violations of the Espionage and Public Records acts - and publicly announcing this in a way that violated all accepted norms of FBI procedure AND completely misstated the relevant statute. The process scandal noted here - conclusions before investigation. The failure of any - any - FBI or other involved personnel to go public as whistle-blowers, or resign, or otherwise confirm what all intelligent outside observers knew to be a lawless farce.

I fear Trump doesn't realize this, or will decide (wrongly) that pushing his "agenda" requires NOT addressing the institutional rot that is unprecedented in our history. It would be an understandable decision, but disastrously wrong for the country.

69 What happened to the Weiner laptop that had secret sauce in it?  Wasn't it the NY FBI or something that looked (due to the Weiner porn with the underage girl) and said "Holy Crap".  They allegedly demanded Comey address it ... and that was when Comey came out against HildaBeast again, but still would not press any charges.

"They" (deep state, FBI heads rosenstein/mueller especially) have some major felonies/treason/sedition .... whatever, to coverup, which is why Mueller hires all the Dem 'mob lawyers".  Deep State seems to be still in charge, unless a few brave men are at work behind the scenes.

110 There have been hints from outside sources (like Sekulow) that, in fact, the investigation into Hillary's biggest felonies is being re-opened. I understand total silence on specifics. But in this unique case, "public interest" obviously demands that some kind of signal be given. The senior cabinet member of federal govt. was involved in systematic, histrionic even, violation of the most important criminal statutes in the book, for years, and everyone knows it just from from publicly known facts. You'd think Sessions would understand the gravity of this situation, and you'd think Trump, though not a govt. guy by background, would get it, too.

143 Gonna dissent on McCarthy beyond his obvious blind spots for federal prosecutors he knows. Terrorism/jihadism, he's great on those and had done his homework, and is clearly a fire-breathing true-believing warrior. SCOTUS degradation. While constitutional issues and most SCOTUS issues are quite simple, and there is a ridiculous unfounded air of gravitas and complexity around most of them, McCarthy has been appropriate vicious in pointing out the lawlessness. After, I think, the second O-care atrocity, in which Roberts figured he'd top his own previous performance by turning statutory construction on its head, McCarthy had a great line about the lawless statist 4 "justices" - "they're there to vote, not judge." Perfectly captures the judicary's conversion into an unaccountable super-legislture for dummies.

170 The central problem is that we've created a scenario where only the feds can investigate or prosecute the feds. It should then come as no shock that these means in practice the role of the *Federal* Bureau of Investigation is to protect the feds.

I think there is a solution to this, however.

Move the appointment of the head of the FBI, or at least the branch of the FBI that investigation crimes by the federal government, to the states.

Every two years the states vote to keep or replace the head of FBI. Each state's governor gets one vote. If there are 26 votes for removal, each state can nominate a new head. If the first round doesn't net 26+ votes for one candidate, there is a run off of the top two.

By making the head of the FBI answer to the States, he will not be incentivized to advance the interests of the federal government, but instead the majority of the states.

Of course this would require a Constitutional Amendment...but blue states might vote for it when there is a Republican president...

Posted by: Dang at August 31, 2017 10:38 AM (8b+oT)

180 >>>>>OT- any north Texas morons out there? My daughter, south of Burleson, says gas is running out, and the markets are running very low on food...she saw gas for $2.19 this morning, and filled up this afternoon for $3.59.....
.
.
.It's gone completely bat$hit insane here.  I live 65 northeast of Dallas and gas prices jumped 30 cents this morning and there are lines of cars 5 and 6 deep everywhere.  Wife has two sisters in Dallas and you can't get any gas there according to numerous sources.  The last prices they saw before they ran out of gas was $5.00.

Can't say anything about food as I didn't go to the store today.

189 18-1 with an interesting idea. And Mikey with a good reminder. The arrogance - and poor judgement - of these people, of course, led them right into this. Of course their implicit judgement is not just that Hillary would win, but that, in general, the system is so degraded that they could get away with their crimes. In that latter assessment, they have yet to be proven wrong. That's what we're talking about here - action that will disprove that key implicit assumption.

244 Q. Why is TRUMP's Department of Justice redacting all the juicy stuff? ____________________ It's not really Trump's DOJ. It's staffed with a bunch of Obama's leftist loons, and they're being allowed to continue with business as usual. PJ Media has a story up right now about how DOJ "civil rights" lawyers have subpoenaed a bunch of Christian pastors in Culpeper, Virginia. The DOJ is demanding that the pastors testify about their views of Islam, and also provide the DOJ with any documents they have which mention Islam. These pastors are not a party to any lawsuit, they are merely residents of a community where the local zoning board denied some muslims special permission to collect and haul sewage off a site. The muslims wanted to build a mosque on the site, but it didn't have city sewers and it wasn't suitable for a septic system. The muslims wanted permission to haul the sewage off in tanker trucks, but the zoning board said no. The DOJ swooped in and accused the zoning board of religious discrimination. The claim against the zoning board was settled, but the DOJ is still trying to prove that the local community is anti-muslim, and hence the subpoenas against the local Christian pastors -- none of whom were parties to the zoning board suit. This is the kind of abusive leftist bullshit that Sessions should have shut down on Day One.

It is astonishing, in a bad way, that this whole obviously farcical non-investigation was not ripped apart from the earliest stages by whistleblowers. But remember, just a few years before, vital highly classified intel collection programs (some of them wildly popular with allies and others on the same side of an ongoing hot war) were disclosed, without the slightest repercussion for the criminals who did it. That's why those who have been paying attention, and were involved enough in some cases to see it first hand, talk about "rot".

269 It is astonishing, in a bad way, that this whole obviously farcical non-investigation was not ripped apart from the earliest stages by whistleblowers. In that latter assessment, they have yet to be proven wrong. That's what we're talking about here - action that will disprove that key implicit assumption. There was nothing to investigate. That "nothing" had ALREADY been investigated - by the appropriate agencies, as a COUNTER-INTELLIGENCE matter, not a criminal matter. 455 Didn't like olives most of my life, still don't seek them out (unless salt-starved), but OMG do I have a recipe for you. If you have your own cherry tomatoes, or can get good ones - roast 'em in olive oil/balsamic vinegar, with some pepper and red pepper flakes (hot) tossed in, for 45 min., then add to short pasta (farfalle, etc) with sliced kalamata olives, capers, and feta (crumbled). Best summer pasta in the history of history.

456 Grammie, walk to the restaurant, enjoy your Swedish pancakes with lingonberries no more than once a week, and walk back home. Little secret I learned from a diabetic friend -- ten minutes of walking right after a meal dramatically reduces your need for insulin.

457 Time to to start over. Maybe we put the Executive in Walla Walla, Washington, the Congress... hmm, Tupelo, MS (though I don't want to wish that on Tupelo and Rosie's Bakery) so maybe Wichita... and the Supreme Court...hmm, nah, we won't have one of those.

Here's a clue. It is called termination letters.

F*** the civil service union. What are they going to do? Sue you? Good. Let them. And tie it up in courts for as long as you possibly can. Even if it means these stale leftover Obamaites have to sit in a conference room and do nothing but count the patterns in the ceiling tiles.
.
.
.So you are OK with violating the law to "uphold the law" cause that is what you are recommending, ignoring decades of  Civil Service Laws.

That's a slippery slope I don not want to go near myself.

465 Skip: "Dennis Prager was wondering what if in 2018 the Republicans gain seats what will the Leftists do?" Nothing but wait for the Republicans to come into their drum circle and start smoking dope. The GOPe, should it gain seats, will wholly a) misunderstand the mandate the voters have given them, and b) exploit the mandate the voters have given them to c) make government bigger, more controlling, more expensive, and more abusive. IOW Republicans will further the Progressive, globalist, CoC agenda just as it has all along. But faster. Both parties are Borg. One side is painted blue, the other red; but make no mistake, it is all Borg.

466 Moron Robbie, you calling the Battle of Surigao Strait "obscure"? Huh? You want some a dis? But since you mentioned it, I interviewed the junior radar tech from the USS West Virginia. He was asleep when that ship was the first to detect the Japanese column steaming north. He was woken and proceeding to his post when the first salvo about knocked him over. He recalled seeing the red shapes (shells) arching away toward the target, and hits (flashes) vs. misses (nothing) on the horizon.

470 FBI took cameras away from bystanders and witnesses on the tarmac. FBI gave immunity to all the criminals. FBI illegally hide documents from freedom of information act. My second in command took money from the DNC for his wife's campaign. Are you starting to figure out that the FBI doesn't work for you but rather rules you? And spoiler alert: The FBI played poker with Hillary and did shots of whiskey during her short holiday weekend visit, I mean interrogation.

471 Mortimer - Finish Her!: "I don't know who IS on my side anymore." I think there are State-level legislators who are still worth something because they are answerable to their constituency. There isn't that overarching national apparatus to acutely reward/punish members since their obligations are much more local, relatively. But at the Federal Level? If one percent are honest, fair, and ethical, I'd be surprised. It's one, giant, disease-infected tick sucking the lifeblood of the nation and spreading its corruption, abuse, incompetence, hypocrisy, and theft. That's the best I can say about it.

I agree.

What percentage of the American public that elected Barack Hussein Obama TWICE would you say is honest , fair and ethical?

I am pissed that the people sworn to protect us can't even police themselves.

But I am also aware that this is the government that America voted for.  And then voted for again.

As The Clash famously sang:
Don't use the rules
They're not for you, they're for the fools
But you're a fool if you don't know that
So use the rules you stupid fool

Trying to shoot straight dice in a rigged game isn't the soundest strategy.

476 Mortimer - Finish Her!: "What percentage of the American public that elected Barack Hussein Obama TWICE would you say is honest, fair and ethical?" I haven't a clue. A lot more than inhabit the Federal government and all its tentacles, but probably a small enough number to be dangerous. "I am pissed that the people sworn to protect us can't even police themselves." I'm right there with you. I have more respect for the mob. Not kidding. The mob cannot hurt you as bad as weaponized, authoritative government. And the "can't" above should probably be "won't". They won't police themselves which is the Big Red Flag waving to everyone, "You really don't understand exactly how screwed you are!" How ever it is that decent people enter the institutions and become active, willing participants in its corruption is a real stain. Self-interest trumps everything they do which is a bit of an indictment on human behavior. Employees are incentivized to punish their friends, family, neighbors, and strangers if an action might even tangentially affect their position. I don't think there's a solution.
