#Science Proves Tom Brady, Bill Bellichick Are Innocent
— Ace

Science, this is why people hate your guts.

Meanwhile, there is some Real Political Slow-News Day Controversy over a Super Bowl ad which some people are calling "too hot." So hot, in fact, that the ad will only be playing on the West Coast.

Wait what?

They appear to be at the proper 12.5-13.5 psi

10 Yeah, like I said in the other thread -- how come Science only happens to the Patriots' balls and only to the pressure that Tom Brady likes? I think either 1) they deflated them intentionally or 2) figured out where to inflate them so they whoopsie accidentally deflated to the right pressure.

The part where 2007 is when the NFL changed the rules at Brady's urging to let teams supply their own balls is quite interesting.

They should just go back to the MLB/NBA setup where the league supplies the balls.  If the Pats suddenly start losing, we'll know they were cheating.

219 Don't you think a bunch of dirty cheaters would naturally win more often? It wasn't the first game they were suspected of doing it. Seems odd that teams would make something out of nothing if this happens in every outside game ever. What is the effect of friction and body warmth heating the ball above outside air?

Precisely.  They got caught once, and were properly punished.

The rest is silly  nonsense, which would be fine, if those  espousing such nonsense  would at least obliquely  acknowledge  they are aware that it is nonsense.

For example, I sometimes say things  like "Eli (Chelsea)  Manning is the dumbest human being on  the  planet, and when he throws an interception his face contorts  into  the 'who farted'  shape.  This event  is the most joyous  thing that can occur on a football field, and thankfully, Eli (Chelsea)  does it a  lot."

Now,  I know Eli (Chelsea)  isn't   literally  THE  dumbest human being on the planet.  He's probably not even in the bottom 10  percentile.  The rest of course is 100% true, but really, if you ask me, I'll admit  my dislike of Eli (Chelsea)  Manning is not entirely rational.

Tom Brady has a pretty face...like a male model.

I turned to mr. wheatie the other day and said..."Brady is almost too pretty to be a football player"...he agreed.

You could put a wig and lipstick on Tom Brady and he would be a passably  pretty woman.

319 Personality is far more important in the long run, that's for sure. Harder for men to overlook "meh" looks, though. I mean, yes, women love hunks, but I think we are far more likely to appreciate a guy who makes us laugh even if he isn't good looking, than a guy can appreciate an average girl who is funny. Especially if she's heavy or even just chubby.

538 looking at that girls something primordial and visceral kicks in. This is what the SJW and "feminists" will never get and nver crush, no matter what they say or do. There's an instinctive reaction to a shapely woman that drives men more than anything else. Power, money, success and fame- all that is subordinate to the sexual urge, and I think is merely in service to that urge. Men want power, money and etc. because it helps them get sex. The end. They'll have to kill or castrate every male of the species before that will end, and god I suppose it may come to that eventually, if our "intellectual superiors" and their beta male eunuchs gain control..

You could download a LiveCD copy of Linux like Lubuntu and fart around on the internet or do Office type work without changing anything in the Windows installation.

Download here ( lubuntu x86 CD )
http://lubuntu.net/

Then burn the image file ( .iso file ) to a CD. Instructions:
help.ubuntu.com/community/BurningIsoHowto

Reboot the machine, keep pressing the F8 key until you get a Boot Menu. Select 'Boot from CD (Player)'

Let it run, then a Lubuntu menu will load. Select the LiveCD version of Lubuntu. Don't install.

I can think of a dozen sports stars who've all been given a pass because THEY CAN PLAY! And I think the reason that this is so is because so many people, like you, have decided that just because THEY CAN PLAY the norms that the rest of us have to live by can be discarded. I, personally, would rather see a bunch of Tim Tebows than a bunch of Ray Lewis or Aaron Hernandez type players running around.

And because she was skinny and narrow hipped, they threw her whole body out of proportion. But she got attention - which is what she wanted.

598 551 MooMoo, you're making the argument that if THEY CAN PLAY, they can be totally morally reprehensible, and yet be rewarded with million dollar a year contracts, avoid prosecution, and have all sorts of accolades heaped upon them. Posted by: Old Blue at January 30, 2015 07:05 PM (vVSOO) _________ I never said they should be discarded. But you know very well a different set of rules apply to stars, be they sports stars, Hollywood stars, politicians, whatever. Sorry to break it to you, some animals are more equal than others. Football is a violent game played by hyper aggressive, unusually large men, who more often than not come from shitty childhoods, raised in the projects by a single mom. Yes it's a stereotype, because it's fucking true more often than not. And it's ludicrous for you to then expect these people to show up in the NFL and act like they grew up in an upper middle class suburb, with a mom, dad, 1.2 siblings, and a white picket fence. They are paid a lot of money to play a very violent and dangerous game. And as a paying fan, I don't really give a fuck what they do in their off time. I pay to watch them play. And if they can play, that's what matters.

Posted by: DaProf at January 30, 2015 04:12 PM (I/c8x)

651 134 My explanation is that the footballs were filled by a retard who misread the gauge thinking he was putting in 2 more pounds than he actually did. That's the only logical explanation that 11 of 12 footballs were uniformly two pounds less.

Posted by: Bob Belcher at January 30, 2015 04:51 PM (cNJvW)

Actually, the original report was apparently incorrect (or put forth by an NFL employee who used to work for the Jets and does not like the Pats or Belichick, as has been reported this week). Of the 11 footballs, one was about two pounds less while the other 10 were only about one pound less. Ironically, the one that was two pounds less was the one in the possession of the Colts for some time due to an interception. Is it possible that they tested the pressure of the football themselves before turning it over and let out additional air? Perhaps.

Posted by: Slappy at January 30, 2015 07:00 PM (Am9Tn)

652 168 If this were so... then every football game out there would have the same problem.

So how come just the Patriots Balls seem to be following the laws of physics?

Why would there balls be squishier than every other teams balls... or are then in a different universe with different physics?

Posted by: Big Bad Wolf at January 30, 2015 04:57 PM (qh617)

Don't be stupid. The Colts could have inflated theirs to the top end of the acceptable PSI level (13.5) while the Pats could have inflated theirs to the bottom end of the acceptable PSI level (12.5). Plus, the Pats footballs were used twice as much in the first half as they dominated in time of possession so their footballs were exposed to the elements (rain, wind, etc.) much more than were the Colts' footballs.

Posted by: Slappy at January 30, 2015 07:00 PM (Am9Tn)

653 200 Yeah so if "the weather did it" during an unseasonably *warm* game at 50 degrees then what do they play with a flapjack when it's -10? Don't you think we'd see a lot more of this considering nfl games have been outside in fall and winter for like 400 years?

Posted by: firsttimemoron at January 30, 2015 05:05 PM (nQkFn)

Who says footballs would deflate an equal amount for every degree that the temperature drops. Perhaps there is a logarithmic relationship between temperature and pressure (i.e., drops much faster initially when exposed to cold weather before leveling out).

Posted by: Slappy at January 30, 2015 07:01 PM (Am9Tn)

654 207 It would be funny if the Pats spent the SuperBowl fumbling and dropping the ball because it was properly inflated and not cheatingly soft

I would laugh ha-ha!

Posted by: naturalfake at January 30, 2015 05:06 PM (9Bzz6)

You do realize that on the road the footballs are monitored by ball boys who work for the home teams, right? Therefore, although the Patriots are a better team at home (as is every other team with very few exceptions), they are also a good team on the road, including blowing out the Colts earlier in the season in Indianapolis.
