Return of the Overnight Open Thread – May Day Eve Edition (genghis)
— Open Blog

Anyone got any special plans for May Day Eve? I mean besides the annual gathering at the usual anarcho/artists’ collective studio/abandoned garage to paint mispelled slogans on protest signage (bonus if you use the Mercedes logo in lieu of the peace symbol…it’s ironic you see), construct large, crude yet festive paper mache puppets (It’s folk art dammit! It’s supposed to look that way!) followed by the sharing of the communal pot of vegan tofu chili (cold once again because somebody forgot to pick up a full canister of acetylene) and warm conversation amongst friends about how the Jooos and the Zionist Conspiracy have turned this world into a Prison Planet while cherished holiday bootleg remixes by Rage Against the Machine play softly in the background. (If you think that sentence was hard to read, imagine how hard it was to write…now diagram it. Don’t tell me you can’t…any 7th year graduate student in Comparative Lit could handle that with ease. Or at the very least provide a Deconstructionist analysis on why the question itself is invalid due to it’s hetero-normative construct.)

Well, if you can’t celebrate tonight, at least you have the entire day tomorrow to look forward to. I assume most of you scheduled tomorrow as a day off from your jobs to…uh. I mean would’ve taken the day off from your oppressive capitalist pig masters if if only one would ever offer you a job so you could stick it to the bastards. As it is, you may just simply want to set your alarm clock for shortly before noon so you can truly enjoy the full day’s events. How is that possible, you ask? Apparently clocks have an a.m. setting. I know I know, I didn’t believe it at first until a friend showed me how he’d discovered it by accidentally hitting a button besides the one that says “snooze.” I should’ve taken notes, but didn’t. But it is possible.

(more days of rage below the fold) So on Friday, in some of the not-yet-completely fascist cities in Amerikkka, there’ll be massive street celebrations such as this one where you can express your outrage at the near total lack of freedom of speech in this so-called “nation.” Here’s how the Corporatist/Statist Media is describing the planned May Day parade:

”Against the backdrop of a sputtering economy, rising joblessness and growing intolerance toward illegal immigration comes this annual event: the massive May Day march that draws thousands onto downtown streets during Friday evening's rush hour to draw attention to the need for comprehensive immigration reform.

“Friday's demonstration also comes amid strong indications President Obama is willing to move on long-sought demands of protesters: immigration reform that includes a path to citizenship for the 12 million immigrants in the U.S. illegally.”

“Marches are planned in cities from New York to San Francisco. Seattle's will be during Friday evening's rush hour, with a predicted 5,000 or more participants.”

Ha! The parade hasn’t even occurred yet and they’ve already started with the lies. 5,000? Sure, that’s what the evil puppetmasters Cheney and Rove (along with their stooge McChimplerburton) would have you believe, but we’ll have our own people there to count heads. I can guarantee no less than 500,000 will be out in the streets.
”In addition to immigration reform, demonstrators are also demanding universal health care, worker rights and an end to wars instigated by the U.S. "I think it's important this May Day to go out into the streets very strong and say this (immigration reform) is an issue that has not been resolved," said Jorge Quiroga, of the organizing group, el Comité Pro Reforma Migratoria. "Every year we can find a reason for not solving this problem — war, elections, the economy. We ... need attention and we need it now."”

And note that the Haliburton-owned media is complaining that the festivities will occur during rush hour on a Friday night, as if that’s a bad thing. I think it’s the perfect time to reach a wider audience and win them over to our side. Almost all will be grateful to hear our message while they sit in their gas-guzzlers and have time to reflect upon their horrible transportation choices. In fact, it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if nearly all of them abandon their machines of destruction and join us in our righteous cause(s), whatever those may be.

Tonight’s overnight thread is sponsored by free-range tofu. What, did you think I was going to exploit yet another freakish animal for your amusement?

”I’m actually thinking about banning tofu from my diet as well. After all, how many soybeans are sacrificed each year just to satisfy our insatiable hunger for this gelatinous curd. What right do we have to exterminate them? Hopefully I can find something soon to replace it that I don’t find morally reprehensible, because I’m rapidly running out of viable food options. Any suggestions?”

Farther up, I noticed the Morons jonesing about guns and making them and loading their own ammo.  You all reminded me of my grandfather.  He used to make both in his basement.  (He was also a dental tech and made dentures people swear by to this day -- and he's been dead about 20 years).  He was a trip.  He bought a bread truck, repainted it and added a freezer and went on big game trips for elk and bear out west.  Drove my grandmother crazy.

Rushbabe,

Grandpas are so cool. My grandpa was an aeronautical engineer and machinist, and he made his own tools, calipers and gauges and whatnot, mostly, to help him measure parts. At his funeral my uncle (by marriage) was frantically looking around the house for those things. Grandpa had hidden them, perhaps so said uncle couldn't find them. I think my dad has them.

Kinda slow tonight.  I just had a bacon and egg sandwich.  I'm thinking about eating some butter beans too.  If I do, I'll let you know how many.  No drinking.  Not interested for some reason.

I wonder what else I can eat.  I have some carrots.  I might eat one.  Oh, yeah!  I could make carrot juice.

They talk about people who let their grass get a 1/2 inch too long, or miss a carwash or two. (Yes, it's a snobby-ass neighborhood). Benadryl puts me right to sleep. I know people who take it as allergy medicine and function just fine, but me, within about half an hour my lights are out. On the other hand, it does an awesome job of combatting allergic reactions.

I'm allergic to medication in the "caine" family, discovered that fun fact after a waxing when I'd tried to combat the pain with no scream cream. Turns out I actually was screaming. For about a week.

Butter bean? Can't say I've had the pleasure. I do recall an obese boxer with that particular handle.

64 Carrot juice?  Ew.

I'll say. There's only three beverages acceptable for a moron.

Coffee. Krom Coffee, strong on his mountain-grown. Starbucks lattes are grounds for revocation of one's Man Card.

Alcohol (Beer, hard liquor or red wine only. White wine is for wusses. Frou-Frou sweet drinks are marginally acceptable if consumed by nymphomaniac, deep-chested double-jointed cheerleaders while whispering naughty thoughts in my ear.)

Liquified Bacon Drippings (After the inevitable heart attack occurs, you are only allowed 5 working days of recovery before resuming your hobo-hunting)

Now back to the bean boobies or the butter flu or whatever it was we were talking about ...

86 I am still laughing about the post from Joanna upthread where she said some of the people here are surprisingly classy. heh. Did PGiS pass out? I was going to tell her we had something in common, (besides tits), I'm allergic to "caine" drugs, too. No cocaine for me, darn it! What makes it bad is when you go to the dentist and they can't numb your mouth cause you're allergic. The pig flu thing sure was a Godsend for old Sebilius, wasn't it? She didn't have to answer any questions cause we NEED HER NOW! It's a doubleplus important thing for her to be the one to come out and say whatever crap there is to say that day about the flu. Why not just let JNo do it? It was keeping her busy and away from normal people.

Did he hit your tip jar before or after he asked you for boob photos?

di butler, I'm not passed out, yet. Yeah, it is a pain because the "caine" drugs are what they usually give you to numb the area when you get stitches or anything like that. Plus as you mention the whole dentist thing.

My doctor didn't quite believe me, so when she was doing a procedure on me she decided to inject me with one of the drugs in the family anyway. Within minutes I was swelling and the area was red and hot to the touch. "Huh." She said. "I guess you were right." As I was moaning in discomfort I replied "Yah think so?"

Heh. Just got in from protesting William Ayers speaking at Brandeis in Waltham Ma. Inviting Ayers to speak was repugnant especially given that the daughter of Walter Schroeder, a Boston Police officer killed in a Weathermen-directed bank robbery in Brighton Ma in 1970- is a Sergeant in the Waltham Police Department. The idea that some student would think it is appropriate to invite the founder of the terrorist organization responsible for the murder of Sgt. Schroeder’s father is despicable. And Brandeis takes its role as a bully pulpit for terrorists seriously.
Apparently Hitler was unavailable.
By the way: does it seem like Ayers is trying to get out of house a lot these days?
But if you were married to the despicable shrew Bernadine Dohrn, you'd be heading out on weekly road trips too. Ok..back to boobs

Butter boobs and bean flu. It's catchy, I think you could dance to it. Shinnnitizzzle. I have to go tomorrow to the oral surgeon to have the prep work done on two teeth that I have having implants made for. They both are cracked all the way to the root, and they have to take them out and put in those little rods in the bone to anchor to the new teeth. Should be fun as hell. Expensive, too. I could leave them and do nothing, but I think it would be weird with nothing on the back right side to chew food with.

113 katya,
I have a funny for you. Hopefully a laugh will bring up ..something.

A man walking along a California beach was deep in prayer. All of a sudden he said out loud, "Lord, please grant me one wish." Suddenly the sky clouded above his head and in a booming voice the Lord said, "I will grant you this one wish." The man said, "Could you please build a bridge to Hawaii, so I can drive over anytime I want to?" The Lord said, "Your request is very materialistic. Think of the logistics of that kind of undertaking. The supports required to reach the bottom of the Pacific! The concrete and steel it would take! I can certainly do it, but it is hard for Me to justify your desire for worldly things. Take a little more time and think of another wish, a wish you think would honor and glorify Me."
The man thought about it for a long time. Finally he said, "Lord, I can't find the right woman. All the women I have dated have said that I am uncaring and insensitive. I wish that I could understand women. I want to know how they feel inside, what they are thinking when they give me the silent treatment, why they cry, what they mean when they say "nothing is wrong", and how I can make a woman truly happy."
After a few minutes God said, "Did you say whether you wanted two lanes or four lanes on that bridge?"

Hate to keep harking on it, but I am a nosey broad, and I am considered super non-nosey in this old lady neighborhood. They ride around to the clubhouse and to the spa and back to the golf course in rounds all damn day spreading gossip. And didn't mention this? Weird. One of the 3,000 old people that live in my neighborhood must have died that day, (ambulances are a common site when you live here), and that bumped it out of the news cycle for them. They love them some funerals! I am one of the youngest people that lives in my hood, and I just turned 43. It's only fun to live here when we have famous people here and you get to see them w/o makeup and crap. Usher got married here 2 yrs ago, and his bride looked like Michelle O's wookie sister when we were at the pool. Plus she was about a foot taller than him.

116 You all see this about a British airline? Shit like this highlights how naive Obama really is about Islamic fundamentalism....heck we were debating this back in the late 80's in high school debate.   These folk aint gonna stop.....here in 2009, they can't stand to even have Tel Aviv on a MAP that they see in a plane.  Instead, it has to be only a largely arab city, and only by its old arabic name.  They really, really hate Israel and, sadly, us.

Is slowing down our counterterrorism apparatus while engaging in long term talks with iran while restraining israel and encouraging the palestinians somehow going to change that dynamic? from jpost/hotair

Instead of viewing Tel Aviv or other Israeli cities signposted on screens, customers flying on two BMI-owned Airbus A320 airplanes have instead been exclusively shown Haifa, spelled "Khefa" - the Arab name of the city before 1948.

BMI, which runs flights to Ben-Gurion Airport twice daily, has declared that the maps are the result of a logistical error due to the company's failure to modify the system created by British airline BMED (British Mediterranean Airways), now defunct, from which BMI acquired the planes two years ago.

BMED, formerly a franchise of British Airways, was absorbed into BMI in October 2007.

BMED flew primarily to the Middle East - notably to Amman, Beirut and Damascus, but not Israel. The maps were therefore tailored to its Muslim passengers, and also highlighted Islamic holy sites, BMI spokesman Phil Shepherd said.

He told the Jerusalem Post on Thursday that the "old maps" were due to be deactivated that night and new maps, which will label Israel and Tel Aviv, are set to appear on screens in two weeks.

And Gates seems to be nothing more than an opportunist who goes to whichever master is petting him.

Hey, I was blathering on and on about that stupid Utube clip from earlier of the Grape Lady. You live in ATL, don't you? Did you remember this actually happening? Kathy, apparently we're going to have to stage an intervention with you. You've clearly gone over the edge and simply don't realize what you're saying. We care about you and are always here for you. Well except when we're passed out as well.

So about where everyone is at tonight. Looks like I jumped the gun on the post timing, but the place had been dead for a couple of hours. Then within 10 minutes after posting this, not one but three punks put up posts that squished it down. They call themselves "Ace," "Gabriel Malor" and "DrewM." It's as if they think they own the place or something. (The 1st one seems to be their nominal leader)

Anyway, since most of the regular overnight morons lack the basic motor skills to use a scroll bar and the remainder have really short attention spans and forget why they started scrolling in the first place, I'm assuming many are wandering aimlessly about in the threads above.

Now I'm not one to suggest anything like an intrablog post war, but if anyone feels the urge to go out on a raiding party and collect the missing morons to bring back here, well, who am I to discourage that? And of course I would never ever suggest that you tag the walls and pee on the carpet of these upstart bloggers on your way out (or even setting fires, heaven forbid.).

But if you choose that course of action, just make sure you wear your colors so they know who wasted their asses and will think twice about steppin' onto our turf again (and by colors I mean lace wigs).

Can you dig it?

Crank call local Unions, tell them I am with their National HQ and Obama has authorized their chapter to skip work for the rest of the month (...Oh wait, I think he just did that for the UAW workers at Chrysler...).

Mowing the lawn, then surreptitiously dumping the clippings into the gutter since trash picked up Wednesday and my @#$%@$ HOA are BASTARDS about putting trash by the curb early..

Picking up all the dog crap in the back yard, then going down the alley behind my house and winging it into the back yard of the idiot who A) STILL has his "Obama for President" sign up in his front yard, B) whines on the neighborhood blog about all the safety hazards of everyone in the Neighborhood BBQ'ing all the time (HELLO, this is FUCKING TEXAS), and C) screams obscenities at the neighborhood when any of the dogs bark in the middle of the day-again, TEXAS move , asshole (It is often my next door neighbor's mutt, I usually then let mine out and encourage them to raise a ruckus as well).

Start a bar fight on 6th street in Austin,Tx by raising the question: "Michelle Obama or Hillary Clinton- who is scarier in a thong?"

Try to talk my way into the local strip clubs by representing myself as a community organizer.

Fax made up Botox offers to Nacy Pelosi.

Use a copy of "Das Kapital" by Marx and Engels as toilet paper. If  there isn't one available, a hippie wearing a "Che!" T shirt will suffice.

Other than that, since it is Friday, I will probably take it easy....

David Axelrod truly does hire bloggers to go out and disrupt websites.   Can't get you a link on that now, sorry to say, but it's true.  So paid bloggers do come here and other sites just to start stuff.

Threadjacking, demoralizing the opponent (Tokyo Rose "you can't win, and never will again" posts) and trying to mimic the bloggers at a site and suggest losing strategies or sound depressed and defeated are some of their methods.

(BTW some liberal sites just ban dissent altogether.  So that's kind of interesting.  Never listen to the "free speech" screeds from the trolls b/c their sites have little to none)

It was weird to me, since I live at Chateau Elan that I never heard about it. It totally wasn't important, but if you didn't see the clip, go watch it, it was funny as hell. I think someone has it hotlinked as Walrus lady or sumthin, cause she sounds like a dying walrus after she falls. Should the Politburo ever shut down our blogs and talk radio, we'll troll them and load their voice mails and email so unmercifully they'll beg their Messiah to give us our playpens back. They'll find out what trolls are

154 145-VA Highlands are nice. I was actually born in ATL. Just lived part of my childhood over in Bama. Dad was Army, retired when I was born. As for lively, when I was a teen I hung out at a punk club called 688 and the whole Little Five Points. Yeah, I wouldn't go down there w/o the .44 cocked now. I know I shouldn't bitch that I live in this neighborhood, a lot of people would kill to live here, (literally), but it is not the kind of person I am.But, hubby is a lot older, plays golf, is used to this lifestyle. I am bored snitless, ya know?

I fight like hell all the time on the MSM sites like tapper's blog and politico.  Tons of Axelturfers in there....especially when its a tough story -- always bringing up bush, every single time, and saying why obama is only as bad as bush, essentially.  very little logic except a few non-paid true believer lefties who are somewhat rational, but the bush hatred sweeps them into frenzies too... its odd -- like the saudi bow became the bush kiss/hand holding....the lack of a health care team for obama became bush left a fucked up HHS/the gop is holding up sebelius....blair's memo being redacted and the full version supporting bush became bush always did selective leaks and torture is eeeeeeeevil...etc

....Awesome     Tapper's the only journalist left acting somewhat old school.   Which is wild since he is a liberal and even got his start telling his story about his one unremarkable date with Monica Lewinsky.

The tough stories do bring them out don't they?

It's nice you do that, since you're always up on your facts and whatnot.

167 I wouldn't even care if it was a lib replacing a conservative.  It's just that earlier this week there were observations that the buzz fly thing would be drowned out by the 100 day fellating, and earlier today, the specter thing was seen as an additional effort to shut up the press about the budget, and the souter thing as simply lending strength to the discussion to ignore some very real and obvious demonstrations of incompentence.

I was just saying that an observation about souter, made within an hour of the rumor coming out, has proven true already.

agree - and it'll be fun to see some republican with at least a little balls in the Senate (who could that possibly be? ? dunno) bash the heck out of whatever critical legal studies (CLS) steeped asswipe lefty law professor obama comes up with.

Ya see, the reason Obama hates America and thinks capitalism is unfair is in part tied to his Harvard education - at that time, CLS was huge and Harvard was the hotbed.  CLS says that since the laws are made by the majority power structure (hint - white, male), all laws are inherently oppressive and discriminatory against anyone who is not the favored class (all non white males).  That's a simplistic definition but it applies to race (critical race theory), gender, sexual orientation, etc, and left wing legal scholars love the shit.

Hence, Obama loves the shit. That's what he was getting at in that tape that popped up right before the election about the Constitution.  CLS says we should rethink the Constitution to expand minority/poor "positive" rights, which are rights "to" things (health care, housing, welfare), as opposed to "negative" rights, which are rights "not to be fucked with by the government" (freedom of speech, assembly, travel)

Posted by: Anti-Harkonnen Freedom Fighter at April 30, 2009 09:14 PM (5r0Tz)

171 That's so great.    But what about that neo-Nazi Richard Warman "Adriana Lima."
Anyway, I hope that guy is gone, b/c his stuff was not cool.   And it's what gives conservatives a bad name not deserved.

Where to begin.  I see what's happening here: "conservative" bloggers are super sensitive about being false flagged.  OK, fair enough, except when I get trolled harder at "conservative" sites than leftist sites - and I do - it raises some interesting questions.

The majority of people who call themselves conservatives (hello there, JPod) have no basis for doing so, and they are not at all shy about attacking conservatives.  This is a problem.

About the Nazi thing:  As Fjordman of Brussels Journal notes, it's getting to the point where it is not only a badge of honour to get called a Nazi, it's pretty much mandatory for anyone aspiring to be an authentic conservative:

In the United States, the host  D.L. Hughley  at TV channel CNN stated that the Republican Party looked like “Nazi Germany” because a majority of their members are white. Being a “Nazi” today means “being born white and standing up for yourself,” nothing more and nothing less. In fact, you don’t even need to stand up for yourself; merely being white and still breathing is sufficient for some.

Sufficient for most, I'd say.  People:  being white is now considered prima facie evidence of Nazism.  The only thing that bothers me about being called a neo-Nazi is the neo qualifier.  I regret somewhat having to get all combative here, but, fuck, if you're not ready to roll you're not paying attention.

Posted by: Adriana Lima at April 30, 2009 09:15 PM (dlnIP)

172 @ 167 dont worry they can create as many distractions as they can, when the stimulus bill's shit hits the fan he'll be asking us on tv to stop having a "crisis in confidence". nothing makes even the nimwit independents and moderates turn on a president like high inflation and a crippled economy, add to that what could very well be (i hope not) foreign policy that leads to another homeland attack

177 167/172

It is somewhat disturbing that many of Obama's critics are not even noticing the patterns of Obama's media control strategies and cycle management and instead falling into each and every trap (see: Hannity, et al)

I mean, the freaking guy essentially demanded and received resignations of the entire Chrysler board and put them in bankruptcy to clear the way for a merger with Fiat (what the fuck?), flubbed the rollout of the stress tests, and pushed through the budget plan for 2009 with health care reconciliation instructions and that was just THIS WEEK.

!!!!!!!

And what is everyone talking about? Torture memos, Spector and Souter.

Every time someone bemoans how "stupid" Obama, and admittedly he has done stupid things, but almost always they are done with intent....but unknown purpose.

3)  Are those quotes from that site that covers your activities accurate?

5)  What are your problems with multiculturalism etc.

6)  What's the full story on why your blog was shut down in Canada?

unfortunately, dumping several trillion in cash into the economy, as Bush/Obama have done, will have a short term effect of increasing demand.  However, interest rates will rise and inflation will take off unless somehow Bernanke both himself reduces the money supply AND convinces King Douchebag to kill stimulus spending the moment the economy starts increasing.   That will never happen, and we'll be stuck with rising inflation and interest rates...but that might not be until after the elections............

I wonder if there will be anything for the next administration to investigate about the current administation?  Lets see...if we skip right to the inauguration it will save a LOT of time.

His illegal alien deportation fugitive aunt was at the inauguration, you remember her, she overstayed her visa, and was ordered four years ago to leave the country.  She had been living in public housing in Boston, on the public dime.   But her nephew knew nothing about it!

I lost count of the tally on tax cheats that are part of the administration.....anyone?

Where's the transparency...?

Where in the Constitution does it give the president the power to move oversight of the census to the White House(ACORN will be helping with the count), fire a CEO of a private company, release selective top secret memos during war time, ect.

Why is he paying very high priced lawyers to keep him from having to provide his certificate of live birth, which was given at a live birth in Hawaii at the time.  Why can't we see his college transcripts?

How many lobbyists in the administration.....again, anyone?

And the banks and car companies...

What about the unions, cap and trade, universal health care, the surge of violence in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan, Iran, North Korea, Give and Serve Act, and on and friggin on and on.

And don't get me started on the media, ACORN/Obama connections(from the start, long, long ago), the "press" conferences, the EPA's retroactive attack on New Mexico coal generator plant, Janet Napalitano, Katheline Sebelius, Tim Geithner, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters, Jane Harman, Al Gore, Diane Feinstein, Rob Blagojevich, John Murtha, Charlie Rangel, Eric Holder, Roland Burris, Gary Locke, Solis, Rezko, Caldera, Ron Sims, Chuck Schumer, and on and friggin on and on........

Honestly, I really thought we were in for a vigorous dialogue about eugenics and against multiculturalism b/c his posts were about that and more.

This guy's pathetic.   He won't even argue his own ideas?   And he seems to love those ideas so what the hell?   I thought he was proud of his bigotry and eugenics (and his master race as well, which is Germanic which is like the bestest).

Take a look at his picture too ... this is the Master Race-ist Richard Warman

Well I'm flattered, but even I don't think that highly of myself.  I'm just some guy who is a little chuffed that being white is now equated with being a Nazi, and a redneck, and a "racist".

"to declaring open war on the blog"

Troll the shit out of this blog might not have been the best choice of words but it's a lot different than declaring open war.  After getting called a Nazi and Richard Warman a few dozen times you might get a little chuffed too.

My beef to the extent I have one with this blog is that for years you turned a blind eye to a lot of things, things you now criticize.  How the fuck can a steadfast Bush supporter credibly claim to give a shit about deficits and fiscal policy, to name one example?  I'm hardly the only one to suggest it's somewhat problematic.  I like being threatened, repeatedly, about as much as you appear to enjoy my commentary, so I'd ask that you to cut down on the threats to one a day, if that isn't asking too much.

229

Answer the questions ... go ahead and spout your theories about eugenics and the evils of multiculturalism all day.   And answer why you think that vigorously nasty language must be used against women, blacks and gays, and more.   And tell us all about yourself.

Don't you just want to talk about you endlessly?

235 There's nothing but infomercials on now, so I'm watching the re-cast of Keith Olbermann. He's got Chris Cillizza on right now -- "THE MAN WHO BROKE THE STORY OF ARLEN SPECTOR'S DEFECTION,"  Keith says.

Got that? Cillizza scooped everyone else on this ultra-secret political maneuver that would have gone unknown for years had he not been on the spot, working his sources, and boldly rushing to print with his cutting-edge news.

Cillizza's whiney voice is so annoying that I'm switching to Fox News, even though it drives me up the wall because he's covering Obama in all his enchanting contradictoriness.

Why not just start with your ideas on eugenics?   We can move on to why you need to use the n-word some other time.  And why you have so enthusiastically.  But for now, let's just go with your PhD approved ideas on eugenics.

You seemed like you wanted to share that stuff.  And here you have a ready audience a-waiting, all breathless for this brilliance.
