PA Resident: Yes, I'm Seeing That Repubican Trust Ad Being Blitzed
— Ace

I always feel a bit uncomfortable urging people to donate to these PACs, as I'm never quite sure if they're really getting ads up, or how many.

I mean, are they just putting up one ad at 3:00 am in the morning?

But one PA resident says:

Pennsylvania resident here: I have seen 5 replays of the goptrust ads in the last 60 minutes, esp. the jeremiah wright ad (with obama’s blue backrgound with the word ‘hate’ i think instead of ‘hope’).

So I guess it would be good to donate to them.

More: It was Dick Morris who reported it. On O'Reilly now, he says he called them to find out how much of an ad buy they were making.

Six million dollars worth.

So, yeah, it appears to be a good PAC to donate to.

I should say this is not my pet issue. The subprime crisis is my pet issue.

But I guess that ship has sailed.

So whatever it takes.

2 DUDE, Ace, somebody...did you see ARNOLD "no girly economic men" S. just DESTROY Obama at McCain's rally? HE WAS AMAZING

3 It's not too late to donate!  Do it!

Posted by: LC at October 31, 2008 02:50 PM (K37tB)

4 Just a word.  They have the air time reserved already and need the funds to pay for the commitment.

So, if you haven't already or can give more, go donate.

5 From what I hear from friends in PA, they make it sound like the Wright ad is playing 24x7 there.  Do we know if it is playing in any other swing states?

Posted by: David at October 31, 2008 02:53 PM (HAdov)

6 That's a powerful ad.  Why didn't the RNC run with Wright?

Posted by: arbuthnot at October 31, 2008 02:54 PM (Tw7Fm)

7 Swartzenegger isn't on youtube yet but I'm working the contacts. TRUST ME - when you see it, you'll smack McCain for not rolling him out a month ago. Why wait until halloween night for the best anti-Obama argument I've ever heard? Just terrific. I'll drop a note when I see the vid posted.

Posted by: watchdog at October 31, 2008 02:56 PM (yCbBv)

8 "That's a powerful ad.  Why didn't the RNC run with Wright?"

They had 4 million dollars before Morris begged for more money on Fox.  Had to come from somewhere.  Better to not have the blood on their hands.

Posted by: David at October 31, 2008 02:56 PM (HAdov)

9 I donated to them. These ads are really effective as the news has been forgotten or suppressed pretty much.

If you have some spare dollars - donate before it's too late.

10 They had 4 million dollars before Morris begged for more money on Fox.  Had to come from somewhere

Thanks for the dope.  Just prowled around on the NRT site and, low and behold, found a ringing endorsement from a smiling Dick Morris.

11 I just donated.

12 I want to donate to people who'll be on Sarah Palin's side of any post-election Republican infighting. Who *ARE* these guys?

13 Dick Morris just said they're buying $6 million in ads this weekend. I am donating.

18 Just donated. I only gave $75, but I already budgeted my donations for McCain. Gotta leave something in reserve if they need to hire more lawyers on Wednesday.

19 If someone is running Fannie/Freddie ads or redistribution ads post their info.

20 And by the way, if any of the super-anointed are out there, the prick masquerading as Dean Barnett could stand to be banned...

22 Ahhh... to donate... another hit against the bad guys.

23 From Rick Davis via mass e-mail a few minutes ago: "In the final days of the campaign, our television presence will be bigger and broader than the Obama campaign's presence. The full Republican effort - the RNC's Independent Expenditure and the McCain campaign will out-buy Barack Obama and the Democrats by just about 10 million dollars." Add in this/other 527s, and it sounds good to me!

Posted by: Sean at October 31, 2008 03:48 PM (vZzYJ)

24 I didn't see the Barnett sig, but I second the banning recommendation, Ace.

Posted by: Fresh Air at October 31, 2008 03:50 PM (SXkkC)

25 I have no idea if the ad is being played here in KCMO. I have not been watching TV lately. I am afraid if I see obama on the TV, I won't be able to stop myself from throwing the remote at the TV. How do I explain a shattered screen on a flat screen TV to the hubby?

Posted by: Ginger at October 31, 2008 04:20 PM (qSqPf)

26 I've seen it 4 times since 5:00 pm. I live outside of Harrisburg, PA.

I donated 3 times this week to the GOPtrust, too...and also to Our Country Deserves Better Pac....http://www.ourcountrydeservesbetter.com:80/  They are running ads on Ayres in swing states if I am not mistaken.  I think this is all helping.  Everyone I know has been donating to these groups all week.  I live in Texas so we will go McCain/Palin, but it is frustrating to have to watch and wait to see what happens in the close states.  I read that with these PACs, McCain/Palin is easily matching Obama.

28 Dipshit back @  #18... and I'm not going to be a dumbass about it, this time.

Posted by: Editor at October 31, 2008 04:35 PM (p4YSL)

29 I heard that McCain was going soft in the ads, wanting to stay positive in the final dayz...

Give me a flippin' break. We don't need no stinking positive shet.

Hit em hard on:

1. J-Wright, ravin rantin
2. Inexperienced (throw in Michelle's comment)
3. Tax b.s. ($250k >>> $120k)
4. Incredible promises (free college, universal health care, etc.) during difficult economy
5. Rinse and repeat

Posted by: Michelle's American White Racist at October 31, 2008 04:48 PM (NLtVk)

30 Damn that ad worked fast! Drudge has Zogby having McCain ahead by 1!!!!

Posted by: robtr at October 31, 2008 05:03 PM (C6ME0)

31 Well, people, I've been harping on the, "Don't get cocky meme," and pointing out that McCain is behind in every single poll.

According to robtr, that's no longer true. I certainly think cockiness isn't warranted based on one poll showing a McCain lead, but it's a sign of hope too. The fight is worth it. It's bearing some fruit.

Ace, a mature post indeed. Glad you're urging people to fight, even if it's other issues.
