OWS RIP: First Death In Movement Comes in Oklahoma City
— Ace

A "street poet."

And so it goes.

My annoyance here is due to the fact the media went out of its way to portray the Tea Party as physically and psychologically unattractive -- ha ha, look at these old nasty bastards -- but does the opposite with this crew.

And yet... not super attractive, in reality.

Corrected: Oklahoma City, not Kansas City as I wrote. When I read "OKC" I took it as "Occupy Kansas City." And in my head I noted, "Oh, neat, that's the same abbreviation they use for Oklahoma City."

Thanks to Ben.

8 It's the system's failure to protect him from drug abuse that caused his death?

The system should have kept him from abusing drugs?

The system is unfairly persecuting those involved in the drug trade, and the users of their products?

How about: you are responsible for your own behavior, and if you want to kill yourself with drugs? Have at it.

Fuck them all.

I am tired of this entitled generation that thinks that I owe them something, including managing their addictions.

And OWS NYC may have been scammed out of $3,000.

The Puppetry Guild of Arts and Culture is trying to find a woman named Lady. She is in the facilitation working group. She has our check for $3000 that we got approved from the GA and recently was cut for us by Finance.

When we got the check written out, she and I were both present and she said to make it in her name. Now she has disappeared. The phone number that we have for her is disconnected.

If you see her, please ask her to get in touch with Lopi, Gan or Joe asap.

Aren't the LIBS into culling? Guess it doesn't matter if it's one of their own.
A poet no less.

You have staged your protests to complain about the rich. With your smart phones and your I-pads, you moan, and gripe, and bitch. You scream and carry signs that say that it’s not fair. You say our Nation’s wealthiest aren’t paying their fair share.

Well, what are you accomplishing with your bitter, angry mobs? Have your tirades in the streets created any jobs? This is the land of opportunity; a place where you can live your dreams. I think you’ve all forgotten what freedom really means.

It doesn’t mean that you sit back, and let others pay your way; living on the coat-tails of those who work hard every day. It doesn’t mean you step aside, arm stretched with open hand; hoping for a handout because your life is not as planned.

Freedom isn’t free but, you don’t want to pay. So, get the hell out if you don’t want to live the American way. If you want to be a socialist, then just go live in Greece. Let the rest of us pursue our dreams and live and die in peace.

Fuck You.

From the video at Gateway Pundit, "Street Poet" seems unusually well groomed for someone homeless; note the clean-shaven face, and the neat haircut.

I suspect foul play, seriously. He doesn't look weak or starved or suffering from some terminal form of incurable TB, and he doesn't look like a long-term crack or meth-head.  Being discovered dead ... he seems a very unlikely candidate.

Watch for this event to disappear from the media very soon. My guess is that this is going to make the Occupy movement look real bad.

114 Only the first death of many to come. There will be probably be more deaths with wintertime ass-hattery - fires, exhaust fumes, overexertion, etc. Not to mention the inevitable drug overdoses. They have no one to blame for whatever harm comes to them but their own folly.

However I do keep hoping that some of these brats and overgrown adolescents grow and realize the futility of the creaky philosophical/economic bullshit they believe in.

But then I remember that the majority of them voted for Obama and then my hope goes flaccid.

You have to decipher the MBM narrative and thought processes

The Tea Party, while no violence was perpetrated, had "violent code words" and "threatening language"

The OWS hippies are "mostly peaceful" and "expressing the rage of the people" and "the police are provoking them"

I'm actually sympathetic to the hobos, they're not there because Daddy Obama is too slow with their bah-bah

The hobos are also making life miserable for the hippies.

202 "poetic commentary about the complexities of homelessness and drug abuse, and the system’s failure to adequately deal with these issues,” I won't take joy in a death, but the victim mentality is not in people's best interest. The "system" did not fail him. He failed himself. I've had a couple relatives who had alcohol or drug addiction problems. The ones who solved their problems, didn't solve them because of any government program. They solved their problems because they made their minds up that they had to. In one case, someone close to me who was a full blown alcoholic was told by his doctor that if he didn't stop drinking he would die. He stopped. Didn't even go to AA. This blaming the "system" makes me angry, and is why I consider myself a conservative. Liberal policies act as enabling behavior toward people who have problems.

208 poetic commentary about the complexities of homelessness and drug abuse We may stop right there. I regret to inform the Bowel Movement that being a bum and a drug addict are not complex matters. You know what is complex? Learning integral calculus, or flying an airplane, or convincing your boss to follow your marketing strategy. Running a household budget isn't too complex, but demands discipline. Squeezing Sterno or mainlining meth is not complex. Neither is maintaining enough maturity to get a start in a halfway house, so one can put a stop to being a bum. You know what else isn't complex? Shoveling the body of a phony "street poet" into a potter's grave.

218 Things I don't get from the tiny brains of the ows hippies:

Why do they think if the rich are taxed more that they will receive it?

Why do they think if someone earns less (is less greedy) that that wealth will magically show up in their morning puke bucket?

It's rather odd that they should pin the sin of gluttony on someone else as causing this man's downfall.  Gluttony is the sin of consumption, where all other concerns of life are subordinated to the appetite.  It seems that his appetite for drugs is what consumed him.  Not someone else's desire for... whatever.

The disconnect is mind boggling.

Kos Kidz think every setback in their lives is the fault of Republicans;

KK: I have 50K in student loans I can't pay back because I'm unemployed

Normal person: You're unemployed because you were fired for spending all day on Daily Kos at work

KK: Well, that's the Republicans fault because they make me sooo mad I have to talk about it with cool hip people!

230 179 My daughter just lost her first tooth, is the going rate still a dime?
The night it happened at our house I had $23.00.  I didn't want to set any sort of $20.00 precedent, so my daughter got $3.00.  Then I found out that one of her little Brownie Troop friends got a Nintendo DS.  Her mom actually made her husband go to Wal-Mart in the middle of the night.  I only do that to replace dead goldfish.  There is quite a range, apparently.

231 When my intellectual property Curtis got slapped by his white teacher he lost a tooth. These are the conditions that we gave to the tooth fairy:
1. A meeting with President Barack Obama
2. A meeting with VP Joe Biden
3. A lunch with Michelle Obama and Jill Biden
4. Counseling sessions with Dr. Cornell West.
5. Reconstructive surgery by Dr. McDreamy
6. Lt. Horatio Cain to run DNA tests on Curtis' tooth.
7. Michael Jackson to play a concert
8. An Ipad for Curtis, myself and his daddy.
9. A 10,000 gift card to Wal Mart
10. Season tickets to the St. Louis Cardinals
11. An NBA team will relocate to St. Louis.

These are all valid compensation from the Tooth Fairy to my little Curtis.
