Ex-Vegans Being Outed by Website

Because they're more caring, sensitive and thoughtful than you knuckle-dragging flesh-eaters - so don't you dare ever leave their fold.

If you're no longer vegan, you're going on the list.

The spirits of the billions murdered have risen to deliver: The Vegan Sellout List - an online directory of those who have regressed from moral consistency to moral depravity.

The Vegan Sellout List is our answer to the epidemic of vegan sellouts - those who are aware of the suffering caused by meat, dairy, egg, fur, and leather production, yet choose to look away while the animals suffer.

And this is what it's like to live a life of lies deep in the meat closet.

Who's Your Lawn Jockey Now?

Liberals like to deride Clarence Thomas as being a lawn jockey for Antonin Scalia because they vote together so often. But this handy graph from Scotusblog shows that, up to this week, Thomas and Scalia had voted together 87% of the time, while Kagan has voted with Ginsburg 96% of the time and Sotomayor has voted with Ginsburg 95%. Sotomayor and Kagan vote together 97% of the time. So who's the lawn jockey now?

Insanity:  Prosecution Attempts to Silence NRA T-shirt Boy with Gag Order; Reporter Covering Story Threatened with Arrest

Prosecutors were hoping to bar Jared, his father and his lawyer from sharing their story with the press, under the guise that their request would serve Jared's better interest, something Jared's father Allen Lardieri sees as ironic.

"It was for Jared's better interest is what I was told, which seems to be a bit odd to me," Lardieri said. "These are the same individuals that are trying to prosecute him, so as far as them knowing what is in his better interest, I have a lot of questions about that."

Charlo Greene, on behalf of WOWK and the free press, prepared a petition to intervene for the gag order hearing but before Charlo could present her argument or even deliver her petition to the court clerk, she was thrown out of the Logan County Courthouse, twice, by a bailiff, who said the judge presiding over Jared's case, Eric O'Briant requested it.  Charlo was then threatened with arrest and the same charge that Jared is currently on trial for, obstructing an officer.

Update: According to reports the charges against Jared were dropped today.

When Small Boats Attack

You bring out the Brimstone.

Three millimetric wave operational Brimstone missiles were launched in a rapid salvo of less than a second against a simulated attack formation of five representative FIACs. The three missiles independently acquired and engaged their respective targets at a distance between 4km and 5km (constrained by range safety); direct hits resulted in extensive structural damage to the three leading vessels, including one travelling at around 20 knots. The missiles were launched from a surface trials platform using a Brimstone triple rail launcher in conditions of sea state 3.

The video is a little slow in the beginning but has nice satisfying ending.

Chinese Culture: Riot after Chinese teachers try to stop pupils cheating

The relatively small city of Zhongxiang in Hubei province has always performed suspiciously well in China's notoriously tough "gaokao" exams, each year winning a disproportionate number of places at the country's elite universities.

Last year, the city received a slap on the wrist from the province's Education department after it discovered 99 identical papers in one subject. Forty five examiners were "harshly criticized" for allowing cheats to prosper.

So this year, a new pilot scheme was introduced to strictly enforce the rules.

When students at the No. 3 high school in Zhongxiang arrived to sit their exams earlier this month, they were dismayed to find they would be supervised not by their own teachers, but by 54 external invigilators randomly drafted in from different schools across the county.

The invigilators wasted no time in using metal detectors to relieve students of their mobile phones and secret transmitters, some of them designed to look like pencil erasers.

...As soon as the exams finished, a mob swarmed into the school in protest

When everyone cheats, not being allowed to cheat becomes the worst handicap you could face.

1 The Waning American Essence The Progressive Left often casts itself as the manichean choice between their proffered utopia and a caricature of America’s past of being exclusively about oppression and discrimination by “Kyriarchs.” America is not “oppression,” but has been the greatest force for freedom and prosperity the world has ever known. It is not pseudo-arbitrary mores and customs invented ex nihilo. Perhaps America can best be understood by that very American Essense that we are losing, and on the verge of losing permanently? 91 Hello, Horde. Militant Vegans can go choke on an extra-large zucchini. No, wait. That might be fun for some of them. Another 14-hour day today, working to get the new station ready to launch on time. It's me and one other guy doing 99 percent of the work, while the rest of the staff seems to think everything will be fine...which it won't, because computer and network issues, plus 25 percent of the music the Program Director wants still hasn't arrived, and there's still a buttload of audio production to finish. Oh, and a quick carry-over from the food thread...I'm too damn poor to eat well. Just hand me the ramen, and maybe I'll die a little sooner and finally get some sleep. //rant off

107 Ok, Red Shirt, you asked for it. Years ago when moving to a new house, a small bag of flour somehow fell out of the moving box and wedged its way under the bottom of the trunk and into the spare tire space. Weeks later, we started smelling a really awful smell. We searched and searched, but couldn't find the source. Finally, we lifted up the trunk floor cover thingy and BAM all those eggs that were in the flour had hatched and there were awful worm maggot monsters ALL OVER THE TRUNK . "Blow me for Luck"!  I'd say that was inappropriate and I had to verbally smack little Cheri around a bit.  Of course his dad just laughed.

Jared's case is more than worrisome.  Other kids have been told to not wear 'Support Our Troops" T-shirts at school as well.  Trying to strong-arm these kids and their parents into the little playground of Marxism really pisses me off.  I hope that Jared's dad sues the shit out of the district and city police.

She loves everybody, expecting they'll give her attention and love.  However...

Today my wife took her for a long walk, then stopped in a park.  There was a really nasty looking hobo there and Bailey wouldn't quit barking and lunging at him.  All the time ignoring all the other folks around.

My wife came home and was freaked, said our dog was profiling people.  I said sure, she saw a threat to you.

Sorry, the cops came by and shooed the hobo off.  No hobo jerky for the Moron Horde.  (And dammit I just bought more soy sauce to add to the worchestershire.)

152 #123: Occasionally, I'll buy a cheap roast and put it in the crock-pot with half a cup of soy sauce and half a cup of water. Once it's cooked, it goes in the refrigerator. After it's cold, I scrape off the layer of fat from the broth/aspic (as that particular fat has no flavor, anyway).

Then I'll tear big chunks off the roast to mix in with ramen. I also like to add some of that aspic along with a little vinegar and hot sauce.

179 In my experience, I have never met a dog who did not really, REALLY like beer.

What absolutely cracks me up though is a dog's initial reaction, after you put down some beer in a saucer or something in front of it.  It'll sniff at it, maybe take an experimental lap or two, then look up at you with this "What the hell is this shit?" expression.

Then the dog will try another lap or two.  Then comprehension hits the little doggie brain.  It'll look back up at you with an "Oh, wow, THIS is why my wolf ancestors started hanging out with you guys!" expression.  And it won't look up again until the beer's gone.

I can relate. Back in the early '80's, I helped a friend move himself and wife and kiddies to a new rental home in Calgary. In July. There was an unplugged deep freeze in the basement. Something smelled bad. Made the mistake of opening the lid. Half full of raw squid. Rotting, disgusting, raw squid. The stench was a physical force. We slammed the lid down, and hustled the freezer out into the back yard. It was a walk-out basement, praise the Lord.

I just realized how much I hate New England weather. We have about 4 months out of the year, April, May, September, and October that are kinda nice. The other 8 months are either too cold or too hot.

And humidity? Florida or even the Tennessee Valley ain't got much on us. Our summers here suck. Our winters here suck.

People say oh I just love the different theathons! Stick your seasonal weather up your ass.

Tomorrow it'll 76 with 82% humidity. Real pleasant if you like being sticky, which some of you do, I understand.

Posted by: IllTemperedCur at June 27, 2013 10:46 PM (MBqvE) --I related this in a travelogue before, but when I was in Jo'burg my brother and I took a tour with a driver and two American chicks went along. We saw places famous in the news when I was a boy like Soweto, and one of Nelson Mandela's former houses. The chicks, clearly liberal, asked about homo marriage (this was back in '05) to the driver, about the state of it in South Africa. The driver was a black African, and he said he had actually fought on the side of the commies/ANC in Angola back in the day --so this guy would be a demigod in the eyes of libtards. He flat-out said, "No, it's a bad idea. It should just be a man and a woman." My brother and I could barely contain our snickers, while the chicks looked crestfallen. The thing is, I followed up and looked at the South African constitution (famously touted by Ruth Bader Ginsberg) online, and it explicitly forbids discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation --which is all to the good. So, even if Ubuntu and Javu can't "marry" each other, they still enjoy a great degree of protection, especially for a developing country. /tangential post

345 In our family, you either have a cast iron stomach or a hair trigger vomit mechanism.  I inherited the hair trigger.  I was visiting my aunts and uncles at their lake camps and one of the deep freezers crapped out.  It had been two weeks since anyone was there, so there is no exact time for how long it was without power.  I helped my aunt carry the sucker outside.  I couldn't get upwind fast enough when she opened the lid.  It was full of fermented melted ice cream, catfish, and venison.  I ran around the corner and vomited while my aunt hummed to herself and cleaned the thing out.

350 #178  When I was a kid, I raised Dorset sheep for show.  These were the old Dorset breed with horns.

Our ram we names Sam (after the song Sam the Sham - it was the 60's).

Anyway,  my dad would come home from work and go out to the barn and always had a can of Bud in hand.  The ram would follow him around.  So one day,  Dad gave him a sip.   He LOVED it!  He would drink it and then curl up his upper lip and look like he was smiling!

So then we gave him beer all the time.  He expired at the ripe old age of 8, and I think he was a happy guy.

Walks up to her little sister, who's openly laughing at her btw, and keeps looking back at me. "Do it." She barely taps her on the arm and goes "There. Now stop it." 3 yr old laughs and shoves her big sister to the floor.

363 When I first started growing roses I joined the American Rose Society. I'm still a member. One man used to write a monthly column for the longest time. It was the first thing I would read each month when the magazine came. He used both chemical and organic fertilizers and organic soil amendments. I had decided to dig up some of the asphalt in the back and make a garden back there. It took me a month or longer to pull out all of it. My brother said nothing would grow there. I listened to what organic materials I could use to improve the soil. I bought a 50 pound bag of fish meal. I hate fish, I can't stand the smell of it and won't eat it. I dumped the entire 50 pound bag in the back, worked it into the soil lightly. It smelled like fish for a day or so. Then it turned into a rotten trash bag smell and stunk up the entire street. Then maggots showed up. I have never smelled anything as awful as that. I went to garden shop ands they looked up what I should buy to kill the maggots. I later found out I was supposed to dig deep holes and put the fish meal in and cover it back up. I think I bought Diazinon to kill the maggots, which of course turned into flies.

Posted by: Anna Puma (+SmuD) at June 27, 2013 11:03 PM (dV6An) Just watched it last week. Great flick, so I can forgive the fact that Redford was in it. One thing the movie didn't show that was in the book. Early in the movie, one of the Brit paratroopers had a live chicken on the DC3 on the way to the jump. It's a quick bit on screen, easy to miss. As I recall, in real life, that chicken was the company mascot and had already made several training jumps. Once on the ground outside Arnhem, the chicken was killed in action. The Brits took the time to bury the chicken with full military honors, all while still fighting the Germans.

383 So today I went to Frank, Ab., where a mountain fell on half the town ( well, about a third ) in 1903. In retrospect, digging all of the coal that the mountain is sitting on might not have been the best idea in the world ( fascinatingly enough, the shift in the mine at the time of the slide survived basically unharmed and dug themselves out in 18 hours ). There's a visitor center there now, and it's really well done. Interesting stuff. I may be getting slightly punch drunk stuck for a week and a half in a small (250 ish ppl ) town on the Ab. prairie though. Looking at the slide through the big panoramic window, one of the guides came up to me and asked if I had any questions about how it went down. " Yea ", I said, " where was the boat Francis Scott Key was in anchored all night?" The guide was confused, so I said, "never mind, just a joke", but I did find the whole place worth an hour or so of my time. Then I went to Sparwood, B.C. and looked at the world's largest truck. It was big.

The Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology is well worth a visit. Not some fusty old museum full of fossil fragments in oak cabinets; it actually gives one some pretty good insight into what the place was like when dinosaurs roamed the shores of the inland seaway.

The scent takes me back to my childhood... remarkble, really, how evocative scent can be.  It seems to me that it is the sense tied most strongly to memory.  o.o  Sights are wonderful... sounds are incredible... but scent is so... I dunno, visceral.

To keep bad smells at bay, I have an 8 gallon trash can with lid in the kitchen. It's about half the size of most folks trash cans. Family & guests think it's weird to have such a small trash can, but that's all the trash I want in my house at any given time. When it gets full, it gets emptied. Sometimes it gets emptied more than once a day. I don't care, I just don't want a huge hulking can of stinky garbage in my house all day long. Better to light one candle than to curse the darkness.

Just proto-meat, you know, like eggs. And meat pus, you know, milk. But not meat. Well, except for bacon at my mom's. And maybe some gyros if we went to the Greek Islands. And turkey at Thanksgiving, of course. And some fish, but "fish isn't meat." Other than that, strictly vegetarian. There are still times I go without meat. Sometimes I have whole meals without meat. Like, cereal, or sometimes just a salad. And overnight, when I'm asleep. I'm vegetarian then, depending on my dreams. Goood evening, revolutionaries.

698 Worst smell? Back in high school my stepdad decided that our bare lawn needed to be fertilized, so he had a couple truck loads of chicken shit dumped on it. It was a hot and wet summer that year. Did I mention that we didn't have air conditioning? No central air, no window units, in Richmond, VA. Best smell? Our local Kroger 20 years ago had a Cinnebon inside the front door. Oh god, was that the worst thing to smell when you are grocery shopping because you just had to buy some.

706 That's so stupid of Cali, Romeo13 (as I'm sure you know). Every weapon is significant, militarily. Hence the name "weapon". Anything has potential to harm is a weapon, technically. Asshats in the ME have been doing crazy stuff with improvised weapons (IEDs) for a decade now. That's the thing about the American outlook. It explains why we have the idiocy of the TSA (who have yet to catch their first terrorist 10 years in). We're obsessed at looking at things, at objects, not at people. But the evil does not live within the gun, it lives in the heart of the man who uses it as a tool for evil.

I do get a schadenboner knowing that the Dodgers and Angels thought they'd bought themselves a pennant and both are at Mets level suckage right now

As a lifelong Cardinals hater, I have to tip my hat in respect to them for putting out winning teams year after year without going hog wild in free agency, sell out every home game, and have cult level worship from their fans

Someone should send the GOP to study the Cardinals instead of paying good money for shit number crunching and "scouting" like American Crossroads

801 ok i have to add to the thread on  best and worst smells:

Rotting gangrene bandages on a horse's foot --worst

smell of a newborn foal's neck right after hes been licked clean by mommy and  dried -- best (it like the baby smell but to me somehow even better)

and a smell thats lost to me-- the smell of my little hairless cats. when they were reasonably clean they also kinda smelled like a clean baby, each one had its own smell and they slept on me next to my face. I miss it still.

Grim said all- time worst smell in the world Anbar Province,  Iraq, in the rain.

809 About vegans: there are no vegetables or fruits that have vitamin D. And dark skinned persons have trouble absorbing vitamin D from the sun, for obvious reasons. Therefore, the best sources of vitamin D for dark-skinned persons are meat, fish and their by-products. Lack of vitamin D is a cancer-causing agent. And therefore, vegans who exhort non-whites to be or remain vegans are racist. And I like it.

820 R-Studio comes through again. C: drive on old Core 2 Duo (still cannot get used to saying that) system failed to boot yesterday for client, although it did get far enough to offer recovery options. But none produced any results after a few hours and I was called in. If I'd only been there a day earlier I would have been delivering the new machine and just peeled off all the old date before the drive crapped out. Booting a utility disc revealed a supposedly blank drive. Not even a partition.

Brought the old machine home, pulled that drive and put it in the USB 3.0 docking station. Sicced R-Studio on it. It's recovered about 40 GB of files already. All I really want is the PST file with the three days of email since the last backup.

If you need to do data recovery with any frequency, R-Studio gets my recommendation.
