In case anyone's watching any more.

Or, you can talk about how lame Hollywood is.

12 here is the thing about the oscars.....you watch one person win, and 4 other people's dreams die.... Pretty good return if you ask me.

14 My wife wanted to watch it so I'm catching out the corner of my eye. These commercials are nauseating and there's very little Oscars. Jimmy Kimmel's face looks like the undercarriage of an aging whore.

16 I haven't seen any of these movies, Well, I saw The Shape Of Water, which I felt was pretty good, but not rely approaching Del Toro's best. Oh, and I saw Blade Runner 2049. If hologram waifus become a thing, I'm down. I stilll want him to win. The idea of Mexicans winning four years in a row cracks me up.

18 I can't bring myself to actually watch the American Open Virtue Signaling Championship. But I saw the three Billboards movie the other day and I thought it was pretty good. As long as Gary Oldman wins, the rest shove their statues where there coke will be during the commercial breaks.

19 So many other options. Walking Dead coming up and this is probably the season I finally quit it all together. Just like awards shows.

26 I'm a film buff. And a flaming homosexual. So I'm watching while I multitask. Kimmel's opening was incredibly lame. Here's the way it was done, and never will get done again. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jwtenNl77w Can you spot the ironic split-second involving an actress who just broke her vow?

33 Havent watched them in years. Probably the last time in the early 90's when a neighbor of mine was going to attend. Cool thing was she made me go with her when she picked up her dress. She looked really good in it when she showed me. And I recorded it that night, and sure enough she wound up in some of the crowd shots. But since then, no, not interested.

34 Owen Benjamin is talking to Stefan Molyneux. He said that he made a joke on twitter that Don Cheadle took offense at, and started to argue with him over. And the curveballs that Owen threw at him were so easy and mild, by his description, that it is a little amazing that Cheadle didn't get that he was just messing around. Eventually Cheadle, Kristol-like, deleted a bunch of tweets. The left can't meme, and the left can't laugh. They can't laugh because they sold their soul. (This sounds a bit heavy and maybe too much to pull out of a twitter fight.)

35 I'm watching Columbo. Rip Torn is the murderer. Plays this sleazy uncle who kills his nephew. Nephew, in the middle of divorce, wins a $30M lottery jackpot. But, he's still married to his wife, and doesn't want her to get any of it. So he arranges for his trusted uncle Rip to pretend he won. Unbeknownst to nephew Uncle Rip is banging his wife. Nephew comes to a bad end. Columbo tangles with Uncle Rip.

50 Sam Rockwell won for Supporting Actor for 3 Billboards. A great role and my #1 flick of the year. Rockwell gave a great acceptance speech. Some critics panned 3 Billboards for being a flawed view of middle America by a Brit. But McDonough self-identifies as Anglo-Irish and has Catholic themes in what he does which went over the heads of these critics like a hard-thrown frisbee.

254 BourbonChicken and otho, hope you don't flame me to a crisp and coat me in hot sauce, but... if you don't like those movies, fine. That's your taste. But *some* movies call for a small, sometimes even almost microscopic, scope. It doesn't make sense for every story to warrant "beautiful images." David Lean was great at making big, lavish, long films with big, lavish, beautiful images, all the way through them. But you'll notice, he only told certain kinds of stories. When he tried to do something a bit more personal, "Ryan's Daughter" in 1970, he literally was flambeed so badly by the critics of the time (especially that queen bitch Pauline Kael), Lean didn't have the confidence to make another picture until "A Passage To India" 14 (!) years later, in 1984. Bear in Mind, Lean had one of the all-time great runs as a director in the 1950s and 60s, from Bridge On The River Kwai to Doctor Zhivago. Anyway, just had to get that off my chest. Horror in particular calls for weird POVs and, yes, sometimes, 'ugly' looks in film. And comedy usually calls for a smaller, sometimes almost squinting/squatting, focus as well. Not every film is the same.

What grinds my gears is shaky cam and lazy staging/blocking etc. Fine, I get the concept of shaky cam (cinema erite/doco style)... but use that shit SPARINGLY. As brief as possible. And the notion that it creates the illusion that "you're there"? Utter nonsense. It simulates a shaken camera, nothing more. Your eyes don't work that way, even if you're moving around amidst action. Your eyes remained centred at all times. You have to actually shake your eyeballs to get something approaching that "effect". It's what lazy film makers do so they don't have to work so hard on their shoots.

Obama throws in with a megalomaniac villain for all intents and purposes and his head blows up for his trouble. The Elites of the world come off as what they are in real life. Controlling, self-centered jackasses...and they had their heads explode for their trouble. Samuel L. Jackson was an absolute riot in his dope ass top hat...and his unhinged theory on global warming which is so bizarre that it makes that whole movement look like they've been smoking crack. 297 Well, I called it. They couldn't quite stoop to the level of giving an affirmative action Oscar for Best Picture, for the second year in a row, to an above average horror flick. I figured they'd throw a bone to Jordan Peele and his movie with the moronic "message on race" that had no actual message on race and give him the original screenplay Oscar. Yup, nailed it. The Anti-white guy thing was RAGING. Thirty five presenters, five white guys. Five original songs, all black / gay / minority movies. I'm curious if they'll look back on it in the shame they should. Needless to say, Francis McDormand's insufferable acceptance speech for Best Actress will get all the buzz. I guess it's the MeTooMeToo movement. I knew a girl that knew a girl once. And I can barely go on, or something.

299 Also, really enjoyed the virtue signalling commercials (NOT). Twitter and Nike are co-winners for the dumbest claptrap that has absolutely nothing to do with their product and was pure feminist idiocy.
