Oh. Frickin'. My.: Obama's Absolute Moral Authority Billionaire, Warren Buffett, Repudiates "Buffet Rule," Refuses To Endorse "Jobs" Bill
— Ace

Update: Video at RCP, via Jammie Wearing Fool.

Defection?

On CNBC, Warren Buffett says he disagrees with the Buffett Rule and refuses to endorse the American Jobs Act.

Warren Buffett provides critical support to Obama. He's a billionaire and a legendary investor, so he's presumed to know what he's talking about with regard to capitalism and economics.

He's a one-man Sweden. Sweden was always used as the example of the "country where socialism worked." A leftist could always cite "Sweden" as evidence his daffy policies could work.

Buffett seemed to be working with Obama on this whole Buffett Rule crap. It was Buffett who announced he pays a lower rate in taxes than his secretary, thus giving Obama the perfect real-world (supposedly) pretext for his Tax the Rich proposal.

But now he says he "disagrees" with the Buffet Rule, and won't endorse this super-critical "jobs" bill?

I have to note that I am psychic. Yesterday I was wondering if Buffett would retract support from Obama. I'm not sure why I wondered about that.

Now I know: Because I received psychic emanations from the future via the Astral Plane.

Two theories on this:

From @drewm, Warren Buffet just joined the KKK.

From @keder, Warren Buffet just got injected with Gardasil.

Oh and then my theory: I think... I think I actually psychically willed this to happen. I guess I was in some kind of DreamScape where I could... alter the future in my dreams.

Pretty sure it's that last one.

I don't understand Warren Buffet. This makes no sense. Why would he essentially campaign for the Buffet Tax and then turn his back on it.

Maybe he's looked at his stock price and holdings in the past few days.

6 1. It was easy to predict that Buffet was basically giving The Won a political handjob just based on his ongoing lawsuits with the IRS over not wanting to pay the taxes at the rates we already have; much less the fact that he has entire business divisions devoted to figuring out how to pay the least amount of taxes possible.

2. Loose shit on the italics, Ace.

No, probably more like people keep asking him why he can't just write a $5 billion check if he wants to pay that badly.

Also, it's damaging his reputation.

27 Has anybody deigned to ask Ol' Warren why he hides all of his money in a trust to avoid taxes if he thinks he should pay more?

Has anyone asked him how he feels about Berkshire Hathaway benefiting from the fact that people can't pass along their privately held businesses to their offspring due to the tax burden?  Berkshire buys those things up by the bushel and the fact the taxes would make them worth less or worthless sure helps force the deal through.  Has any asked Warren how he finagles things to pay less than his secretary?

Lots of obvious questions that no one will ask.  Maybe some enterprising blogger can do the work the media won't do.

I keep seeing the videos on the net of the goobers claiming to have been wrongly "maced" or beaten or whatnot and it's always some goober writhing on the ground but never video of what they did leading up to the supposed police abuse. I'm seeing reports that the arrestees are illegally blocking traffic, erecting illegal barriers, and rushing the cops to prevent arrests, resisting arrest, etc. But of course there's no video of that so the one goober liberal I'm friends with is screaming at the top of his lungs about police brutality. Anyway, I was just wondering what the real deal was there.

This idea of Obama not running in '12 is starting to make more sense (not enough that I believe it, yet, but enough that I could believe it if I saw some specific evidence of such a move- like an actual primary challenger).

213 Xmas is early as the stores are hurting. No money no buyee and 20% or the Gen Pop are out of do re mi and cutting to the bone their expenses.

Maybe the debit card fees won't matter as people won't be buying as much anyway.

This is what happens; it's a cascade, avalanche or crash if you will. Except for hunter gatherers, economies depend on participation. To participate one must have money or believe that you soon will have money.

This has become a questionable belief.

214 Robot, you don't think Obama hates people? Wealthy White people, in particular?

Nope. He likes them. They vote for him and give him money and a career and shit.

He hates regular white people. And regular black people. And regular miscellaneous people.

Y'know, folks.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Americans earned less last month, the first decline in nearly two years. With less income, consumers could cut back on spending and weaken an already-fragile economy.

Consumers spent a little more in August despite seeing their incomes drop 0.1 percent, the Commerce Department said Friday. Consumer spending rose just 0.2 percent, after a more robust 0.7 percent gain in July.

Most of the increase in spending went to pay higher prices for food and gas. When adjusted for inflation, consumer spending was flat last month.

What we need are higher taxes!!!!!

Weakness in leading economic indicators has become so pervasive the Economic Cycle Research Institute now predicts a new recession is unavoidable.

"The vicious cycle is starting where lower sales, lower production, lower employment and lower income [leads] back to lower sales," co-founder Lakshman Achuthan declares in the accompanying video.

It's too soon to predict just how bad it's going to get, but he expects another spike in unemployment and further expansion of the federal government's $1 trillion deficit. This forecast has huge ramifications for the 2012 election and the already struggling U.S. consumer and Achuthan says a "mild" recession is the best-case scenario.

Yep, higher taxes are the only solution

Oh, that's right. Even though technically Ace would have been using it on Buffett, not the Prez. Hard to say if Warren's ability rolls would be that high.

I'd forgotten that PB was the only weapon available against non-psionic types. I'm also more than a little relieved I'd forgotten that...

Interesting fact:

Warren Buffet and Newt Gingrich have never been seen in the same room together.  Buffet is clearly a "deep sleeper" agent.

Also, you can rearrange the letters of

Warren Edward Buffet

to

Newt Fraud Reward, B.F.E. (which stands for "Buy Fewer Euros", duh)

Clear as day, people.  Clear. As. Day.

241 Ok, Drudge has a link to the RCP video of Buffett.  He doesn't come right out and say it, but he specifically does NOT want a tax on people making $200k a year.  His idea is to tax only a small subset of ultrarich people, around 50,000 people out the whole country, a tax sort of like an AMT for the ultrarich.

243 Dear Sir, I am a small business owner. I recently had to let several people go and stop hiring because of this country's failing infrastructure and low taxes on the richest one percent of Americans, myself included. In the past, I've come across rivers and lakes and have not been able to get across to meet prospective job applicants, thereby depriving them of the money I have been selfishly hoarding instead of giving to them. If only there were some type of device to get me across these watery obstacles. I know that, despite my wealth, I am helpless to overcome the various ridges, ravines, rives, lakes, and oceans that stop me from creating new jobs that I come across every day. Sometimes, I find myself driving to a place in which I plan to finally create a job that will give a worker a job so that with that job he can have money to pay for his family, because the jobs I provide only exist to make employees not poor. However, I cannot tell you how many times I've been driving and fallen off of a cliff or, worse, fall into a giant pothole and am therefore unable to give people jobs. It's the infrastructure. We need new, um, infrastructure and President Obama is the only one who can do it. Best, A small business owner.

247 Alternative headline:

Buffett: No Comment on Buffett Rule, Won't Endorse "Jobs" Bill until After I Read It

Buffett made a "no comment" comment on the Obama's Buffett Rule. Repudiate is too strong of a word for Buffett's dodge.

He said he had not read the details about the American Jobs Act. Good for him for not endorsing something he hasn't read. But he may endorse it in whole or in substantial part later.

In short, he may ultimately metabolize the Gardasil.
