9 53 commie idiots sound off.

The 53-nation Commonwealth has said climate change poses an existential threat to some of its member states, and urged participants at the Paris climate talks to produce a legally binding agreement on cutting greenhouse gas emissions.

The "real" threat is that taxes are not high enough.  And here is the reason for the statement:

The Commonwealth leaders called for developed nations to spend $100 billion a year by 2020 to help developing countries deal with the effects of climate change.

Give us some money.  And of course AP is more than willing to give them some airtime.

43 Tulsa, Sunday ...a man leaving a Burger King was forced to shoot another man who approached him with a crowbar in a robbery attempt. ... According to police, the [shooter] is licensed to carry a concealed weapon and was acting in self-defense. ... Police located the [shootee] at a local hospital but said they haven't made an arrest yet. Showing the need for better gun control: Shooter hit the perp's shoulder. * Speaking of which, yesterday I saw that d@mn coyote that the neighbor told us is hanging around. Probably couldn't have got a clean shot even if I'd had a good rifle in hand, but he was too close to the house for comfort. Fast-moving critter!

44 The media is starting to freak out because it's looking more and more likely that Trump is going to be the nominee and unlike past Republicans they will not have the capacity to shape the narrative with him as President. The could rely on pukes like the Bushs to roll over and not fight back. That's why you are starting to see media hagiographies on how they miss Bush. You miss him because he was a reliable punching bag for you twats. Look for CNN and the GOPe to come out blazing at the next debate on the 15th. It's the last chance they will have to bring Trump down.

51 Of course the media and establishment are working to destroy Trump. While Trump is not everyone's cup of tea, he represents a paradigm shift in temperament and governance, especially if Ted Cruz is his VP. The media will literally lose their ability to shape any narrative as Trump is not going to allow anyone to attack him and especially with Cruz acting as his babble fish translator, we will finally have a true movement Conservstive in the White House since Reagan.

57 Sorry to interrupt the morning thread, but here's a prayer for those praying people who are awake in Eastern Standard Time. It's from the Orthodox tradition which- IMO-places a great deal of emphasis on the holiness and awesome majesty of God. This is a prayer said at dawn: Lord, God you are holy, surpassing human expression: You made light shine out of darkness and in our night's sleep you have given us rest; through you we rise to give you glory, and prompted by your compassion, to call upon your goodness; hear us as we offer you praise and thanksgiving, as best we are able, and grant what we ask of you for our salvation. make us children of the light, inheritors of your eternal goodness; in the fullness of your mercy, O, Lord remember all your people: Those who pray with us now and all our brothers and sisters across your dominions, on land or sea, who call upon your love for mankind and beg your help; extend your great mercy to us all, that being saved in body and soul and ever dependent on your love we may praise your most wonderful and blessed name. For you are the God of compassion, full of goodness and love for all mankind, and we give you glory, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, now and for ever, to the ages of ages. Amen. 2 Corinthians 4:6.. May have hurt those denominations' membership rolls some, but it didn't cause any major national movement, and the mainlines continued to plow to the left.

Godwin sez, know what other candidate the commies really hated? So there.

The ones who have made it all the way to our doorstep are by definition not the most helpless.

171 Good morning, my box-encased friends. I will amuse those of you who've done home improvements by telling you that we took wallpaper down and are confused by what we found. Master bath (denounces self). Under the paper and backing is what looks like a thin coat of paint in some places. Other places just are large amounts of spackle and in some places it looks like there's more wallpaper. Oh and there's some dark blue patching material other places. Did they paint and spackle over the original wallpaper? Or just leave a bit at the top? Or is that glue, not paint? Hubby wants to paint on the layer we're on. Might work... The house is 30 years old, not 150. And yet a hundred years of stupid things have been done to it...

Don't go tossing around the word "hate," Buckaroo. I have never said I "hate" teh Cruzer; in fact, I seriously doubt I have applied that word to anyone.

I DO dislike him, think he is a self-absorbed, two-faced hack. Which doesn't make him much different than the majority of recent presidents. I would not vote for him, and admit to surprise that quite a few commenters here are down for the dude. My take is that he, like Choom Boy, is given extra credit for his origins, a practice I don't like.

I wish him good luck in some small, obscure corner of the private sector. He is, IMO, totally unqualified to lead a nation.

Mostly, I have found in our old house, that it was used to cover up a lot of patches and poor dry walling to begin with.
When we peeled off the paper, they had not applied sizing to the walls, so the backing on the paper stuck to the walls. We then had to steam and scrape off the paper (lotsa fun)  on a room that is about 20 by 20.  Then we had to patch the wall properly. Then prime and paint.

253 Trade pact may not come up in House until after 2016 election- http://politi.co/1VTxIRQ

"Under the trade promotion authority law enacted earlier this year, the White House is required to make the text of a trade deal public at least 60 calendar days before a deal is signed, but it's required to notify Congress a full 90 calendar days before signing a deal. Congress must approve or reject the TPP within 90 legislative days once it is formally submitted for review, and it cannot be amended by lawmakers."

While Congress cannot amend the deal, they can force this Administration or the next to renegotiate by rejecting said deal.

270 166 Cabinet members (both parties) are appo inted not because they are the best and brightest for their positions, but because they bought their influence/ are owed political favors. That's one of the reasons a Trump presidency could be a great thing. He owes nobody. No one owns him. He really would be able to appoint the best and brightest. --------------------- Why do people believe this? Big Business' control of American politics is a problem - so let's elect a Big Businessman? Instead of electing someone who can be persuaded to support lousy policies by interested parties' money, let's just elect the interested party directly! Cut out the middle man! Or are we assuming Trump is secretly an altruist who will work against his own interests? And what makes you think he will appoint "the best and brightest" to his cabinet - he doesn't strike me as someone who wants to be overshadowed by cleverer people. He strikes me as someone who will tend towards yes-men and close friends and family - he wanted to put his sister on the Supreme Court, correct?

"TPA is the process Congress has made available to the President to enable legislation to approve and implement certain international trade agreements to be considered under expedited legislative procedures for limited periods, provided the President observes certain statutory obligations. TPA defines how Congress has chosen to exercise its constitutional authority over a particular aspect of trade policy, while giving the President added leverage to negotiate trade agreements by effectively assuring U.S. trade partners that final agreements will be given timely and unamended consideration."

332 TPA was passed largely by Republicans in June.  It is known as trade fast track.  It allows Obama to submit trade bills to congress who can not amend it or change it but the still musts till be approved by the Senate as any other treaty.

TPP or Trans-Pacific Partnership does all kinds of shit that benefits Republicans' real constituency, big buisness. And it does that at the expense of small buisness and the average joe.  An agreement on it was reached in Atlanta back in August but it has NOT been approved by the Senate.

333 "TPA is the process Congress has made available to the President to enable legislation to approve and implement certain international trade agreements to be considered under expedited legislative procedures for limited periods, provided the President observes certain statutory obligations. TPA defines how Congress has chosen to exercise its constitutional authority over a particular aspect of trade policy, while giving the President added leverage to negotiate trade agreements by effectively assuring U.S. trade partners that final agreements will be given timely and unamended consideration." 336 Iran said Sunday there would be no final implementation of a nuclear deal with world powers unless a probe into allegations of past weapons research is closed. Great deal Fredo. ------------------------------------------------------------ The Iranian parliament voted it down and Khameini said, in writing, he would never approve of any deal like this. On our side, Obumbles has his eyes closed, his hands firmly over his ears and he's humming aloud anytime someone tries to speak.

337 The folks trying to destroy Trump aren't just corrupt and greedy. They're ignorant. They don't truly understand why Trump is a thing. And that also means they don't understand the long term repercussions of stopping Trump. Because someone's going to ride the wave Trump is. And Trump's a hell of a lot better than what we could get otherwise.

Have been wondering when the denizens of Boweltimore are going to finally end up sacking the premises of Johns Hopkins in a mob rage, and then having JH start the slow steady drip of relocating elsewhere for safety.

Last I looked, Hopkins was the largest nongovernmental employer there.

As well, a considerable percentage of those blacks in Bulletmore with decent jobs owe them to the presence of Hopkins.

344 "And worn out old shit is opening his pie-hole again."

Anyone else remember the long-ago, far-away year of 2008, when Old Man Yells At Clouds was running for President?

The left were absolutely granitic in their certainty that, if elected, the elderly and war-wounded and cancer-riddled McCain would up and die in office within some ridiculously short interval, exposing the country to the terrible peril of President Sarah Palin.

I said at the time, "Gee, that would be awful, but we'll _just have to risk it_."

In retrospect, if McCain had made it in, he would have almost certainly been unseated in 2012 by Hillary Clinton.

If he had by some miracle come through that thanks to Canquelles stroking out on the campaign trail, he would be busy in office today ramming through an amnesty as bad as Obama's, and delivering huge aid to the "moderate Syrian resistance", and VP Sarah Palin's hopes of succeeding him in the 2016 election would be totally doomed.

Just like the Iran vote, a simple up or down vote..no treaty vote? And THAT's your argument? Do you even read what your posting or just take marching orders from the establishment?

You keep confusing Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) with the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). TPA is the process bill whereas TPP is the actual trade deal. With regards to the TPP text, it was posted on the US Trade Representative's website as required some time ago. I posted the link at #155. As for your comment about treaties, Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) are not treaties. I would also point-out that calling me "Establishment" is not an argument. Where is the evidence that a vote on TPP has been taken? I have asked multiple times for the roll call votes for each body and have yet to receive a response.

346 "I'll take Cruz. He's never filed for bankruptcy and he's a Christian."

What is really funny is Fox News slamming Trump for bankruptcies. When Rupert Murdoch, proprietor of Fox, has left investors holding the bag on several occasions in the past.

As for Cruz, he voted for the enabling bill (TPA) to kickstart Obamatrade.

Cruz skipped out on the facially unconstitutional Corker bill vote to let Obama and Kerry ram through their Iran deal with fewer votes than a treaty normally requires.

Cruz wants to radically expand the fraud-riddled H-1B worker visa program that has already tossed millions of American citizens out of their jobs after their having been forced to train their foreign replacements.

Cruz's wife has worked for years for Goldman Sachs, about the single most brutally cynical Wall Street firm around, most notable for having been Barack Obama's largest source of financial sector donations.

The thing that really blows chunks about this election cycle is that there _just are no genuinely solid conservatives_ to choose from in this race. I think I'm voting for the Beans and Bullets ticket.

353 Russian President Vladimir Putin has rejected a meeting with Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the climate conference in Paris on Monday, the Kremlin said, as a dispute rages over Ankara's downing of a Russian warplane.

The day after the shoot down, Putin opened a diverse can of whoopass on the dog Erdogan and Turkey-  e.g., bombing shit out of Turkmen, trade sanctions, cancelling Russian tourism to Turkey (#2 behind Germany) and get this, a new law gets you 5 years in the slammer for denying Turkey's "genocide" of Armenians and more.

Putin plays hardball.  The ISIS supporting pig Erdogan is hating life right now.  And Putin has more for the scumbucket, I am sure. Go Vlad, pwn that bitch all. the. way.

When Ronald Reagan read this essay he exclaimed "Who IS this person?"
