Molegate: That Chart Of Connections You Wanted
— Ace

...has been ably put together by Ace Pilots.

Flopping Aces notes that chart looks like a chart the MSM, rather than bloggers, published. A chart showing the connections between the Swift-Boaters and Republicans, for example.

Funny how they make the latter, and are single-mindedly uninterested in making the former.

Flopping Aces has all sorts of cool links and quotes -- really, he's done a man's job in scouring the blogosphere and opinion columnists and news stories -- and I recommend his post heartily.

I'll steal a little bit. Remember, this is a nonpartisan woman. Which makes me wonder-- why does the DNC want to start a legal defense fund for her?

Perhaps that’s why the Howard Dean and others at the Democrat National Committee are looking to some of their donors to set up a legal defense fund for McCarthy.

“If Scooter Libby can have a legal defense fund and website, then McCarthy should have one too,” says a DNC staffer. “The DNC wouldn’t set it up, we’d have some of our donors do it on the outside. There are plenty of consultants willing to help on this one, we think.”

It's funny. Partisanship only exists on the right. We hear endlessly about the ideologues on the right -- the "neocon cabal" who have hijacked foreign policy -- but the media cannot even whisper the possiblity of a liberal clacque in the CIA and security apparatus.

And hints that there are six more criminal moles being investigated, including a couple of your favorite Senators.

1 You idiots are almost comical.

Bill Clinton at the top of one side?

You people DO know he's been out of office for...oh, about 6 years???

And where's the Leaker In Chief??

Talk about a s-t-r-e-t-c-h...get used to it...Bush is going to be IMPEACHED.

Good. Get them all and make them pay. Republican, Democrat, Silly Party, I don't care.

I'd give good odds that its mostly on the left, though. Rush Limbaugh had a good article (well, transcript of a segment of his show) giving the connections yesterday. It's probably been rolled off into the pay side of his site by now.

4 Mike,

Thats a really bad job of equivalence and conflating.

McCarthy achieved relatively high rank during Clinton's (you have to admit he is really a famous leaker, although the substance was different) administration. The group of people who were introduced into gov't service during that period left behind some refuse when he left the building.

That refuse is attempting to discredit the current administration without regard to the real or potential cost of those actions to the country.

And as far as the President is concerned, as long as he provides some oversight, he can leak any and all information he chooses. I have yet to be convinced that the required oversight was not provided.

Finally, with regard to impeachment:

Please define the crime, and provide the proof. You seem to take this as a given, and it is reasonable to assume that there must be a great deal of evidence to support your position. Please review that information, somewhere else, such as DU, with other like-minded people.

happy fever-dreaming!

7 Scott:
Bringing Clinton into this is absurd.

The fact that she worked in his adminstration means...what...that she leans to the left politically?

NO SHIT??

That she's probably a Democrat?

NO SHIT???

And that she contributed to Democrats?

NO SHIT??

Instead of paying attention to this "diversion" from our real problems...people in America should be more concerened with our President getting us into a war, based on trumped up evidence, cherry-picking only what he wanted to hear or know, getting 1,000's of our fellow Americans killed or wounded...and being buried in Iraq for who know how fucking long...with more deaths every day.

Leaking information to the press has been around forever...and it's not going away...just ask the Leaker In Chief...he should know.

Posted by: Mike at April 26, 2006 01:24 PM (leJWb)

8 Hey Ace, thx for the mention...

Rocketeer - you can definately feel the desperation from the left with this one. If Macsmind and In From The Cold are right, McCarthy is a little fish with some biggies about to get hooked.

TOTAL SHIT!!

HOT SHIT!!

As for the Leaker in Chief...yeah, that's me...when I see a guy wearing a speedo...I just can't help myself...the little Mikey just ERUPTS

It's pretty obvious how Republicans/conservatives are going to take this.

39 Article 1 section 8 clause 17 of the Constitution states that Congress shall have total authority over an area not to excede 10 square miles. (D.C.) It's a Legislative Democracy, as opposed to a Constitutional Republic. (50 states) Congress IS the judge, jury, and executioner in D.C. How far do you REALLY think all this tatteling on each other by both parties is going to go? Nowhere fast on your dollar.

40 In reality, congress has little authority over D.C. anymore. The city was granted what amounts to self-rule for a few decades now.

Posted by: Knemon at April 27, 2006 03:50 AM (a3KVd)

42 Don't get your hopes up that any Senator of either party is going to see any serious hot water for leaking. Even if they were caught red-handed passing intel to the Zarkman, they'd bargain their way out of it so the Senate club could preserve the status quo.

I'm sort of hoping the Donks will agree to that Food Stamps Brothel for Cute Welfare Moms bill that's been languishing in committee. It could be Rocky will have to get behind this--he'd sell his own mom to stay in the club you know.

44 I notice you read much about THIS on the "sycophant" blog:

WASHINGTON — Despite the CIA's goal of cracking down on leaks of classified information, the government may forgo criminal charges against a senior agency officer fired last week for disclosing operational secrets, according to current and former intelligence and law enforcement officials.

The officials cited a number of obstacles to pursuing the case, including that the employee was fired in part over polygraph results that would not be admissible as evidence and that she was accused of leaking secrets the government would be reluctant to air in court.

The strength of the CIA's evidence against the fired employee, Mary O. McCarthy, also has come under scrutiny. McCarthy's attorney, Ty Cobb, said that contrary to the CIA's statement last week, she did not disclose classified information or confess to doing so to agency investigators.

70 Clinton did a good job with welfare reform and NAFTA. He got lucky that his bubble burst in his last year in office. He totally dropped the ball on Russia. He seemed to have bombed a lot of countries at some awfully suspect times. We fried a lot of people at Waco and forced a kid to return to Cuba. He also fled from Somalia and refused to do anything about Rawanda. He also ignored Al Qaida after they bombed the WTC and other international targets. He also opened the borders to illegal immigration. He also sold nuclear secrets to China, but gave them away to North Korea.

Except for the damage done to the country by ignoring Al Qaeda, the illegal immigration mess, the nuclearization of China and North Korea, the institution of rendition, he will get some props for continuing Reagan's legacy of welfare reform. Oh, and he also got impeached.

Why the quotes on history? Why? WHY??? You shouldn't be in pomo sneering mode - you actually do want posterity to remember it, right?

Mike Meyer - yeh, that does suck. On the other hand, Osama's not a criminal, not some serial killer we've failed to "apprehend," he's the head of a stateless army. As such, have we put his strategic wang on the chopper or not?

He has less freedom of movement/big open-air camps/muthas with kalishnakovs than before.

72 So, what you are saying is that Clinton's eight years are a blip on the history screen?

That his administration was inconsequential except for the problems they ignored?

But everyone knows that, thats why he never got a majority. And why he lost Congress. And why he continues to fly around the world trying to establish whatever it is he thinks he can to create his legacy.

I don't even know why you bring this up except some troll is sitting in the corner flinging doo doo everywhere.

Besides, I heard that all those jobs the Clinton created were really low paying jobs. You know, the rich just got richer while the poor got poorer in the 90's. A real decade of greed.

74 moeindc88,
Knowing what we now know about Bush and his people completely ignoring an in-your-face warning directly from Osama Bin Laden, along with the FBI/CIA fuck-ups leading up to 9/11...it really takes a real moron to say this:

"That his administration was inconsequential except for the problems they ignored?"

You can go back to many Presidents and see things they either didn't do, ignored or fucked up (Reagan and Irangate & the contras/Bush not taking out Saddam/Carter and Iran/Nixon/Watergate, etc.), but you're going to have a tough time matching the Bush administration's ineptitude regarding 9/11, the aftermath in Iraq and Katrina...just to name a few.

Clinton will be remembered as a great President...Bush as an abject failure.

I have yet to develop a nuianced view of anythign that I spew?!?!?! That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard...you need to get your head out of your ass...first of all, Bush blew up the levees thereby causing NO to flood...a good president would have given a speech that would have made the water leave the city immediatly....the speech would also have gone back in time to make the mayor properly evacuate his city.....also ensure that the levee he blewed up was properly built!!!>!>!

Also, Bush had warning that 911 was going to happened...he was paid by the Saudis to do it afterall....I can't see how anyone, excpet for Clinton, could have ignored THAT warning sign...

You need to properly be objective and not elevate your arguments to mere worship of one person...except for Clinton...

80 Poor Mike. Ashamed of himself. Ashamed of his wife.

Pathetic.

No wonder he comes here and calls real men "chickenshit." It must enrage him to know that others actually live the happy life he tries so hard to convince others that he has obtained.

Ashamed of his own wife. Afraid to leave the comfort of anonymity and show his wretched face.

A miserable coward filled with self loathing and impotent rage.

81 Clinton's legacy is that he couldn't get his VP elected after his "great" presidency was over. Why is that? Gore should have been a lead-pipe-cinch to win. Clinton had created more jobs than there were people in the US. Everyone owned their own home and there was no suffering. American was the most feared nation around the world.

I can tell you why that is. Clinton knew it was all a sham. He knew the economy was tanking. He knew that, if Gore was President and everything went south, he (Clinton) would be to blame. Gore would be an extension of Clinton's administration. If you will recall, one of the mysteries among political pundits was why Clinton did virtually no campaigning for Gore. It wasn't until the very last minute that he poked his head out and campaigned even if it was half-heartedly.

People tried to spin it as Clinton didn't want to taint Gore with his problems, but that doesn't fly. During and after his impeachment, his approval ratings were through the roof. Gore would have beneiftted from it. Clinton knew that a word from him would get Gore elected. The fabled "Clinton Economy" would be exposed as a sham. The only hope was to get Bush elected and then pin the blame on him. Most Americans don't understand enough about the economy to understand that it doesn't just stop on a dime. A recession is a thing that builds over time.

It's th same with the accounting scandals. The Dems wanted everyone to believe that Enron, Worldcom, and Adelphia woke up on January 20, 2001 and said, "Well, we now have a Republican as President. Let's raid the coffers." The scams these men ran were hatched well before President Bush took office. It wouldn't matter who the Presidnet was, they were going to try and see what they could get away with.

82 I'm in the distinct minority on the board, who doesn't think Clinton did that bad a job. (Most of the time. All the Clinton-hate can get a little infectious sometimes).

And yet I don't have the BDS.

It is possible. Let's try to remember that ... even when faced with such powerful evidence to the contrary.

83 I don't have Clinton hate. He is what he was and he did somehow get credit for NAFTA and Welfare Reform. He also managed to not kill the economy by his overactive FTC oversight. But other than that, you start wondering how high a premium the left places on supposedly smooth talkers. Ohhh, he sounded so awesome when he spoke, I don't need to know what he did.

Noo, he had several large compounds where he was training an army. Those are gone now. Has he set up a similar shebang since? I mean, these camps were visible from the air. If they had gone and set up shop the next valley over, even someone as "braindead as the chimp" could probably figure out what to do.

I think you're thinking of him as a supervillian from a Bond movie with some skull-shaped island he can retreat to. He's either the guest of some state or other (the list of possibilities is pretty short), or he's hopping around within a state (pakistan, seems to be the best guess).

Let's say tomorrow Bush finds out for sure, gold-plated, that Iran, e.g., is setting Binny up at the Tehran Hilton. What then?

The more likely scenario: he's in pakistan. Do you want us to invade pakistan? (Oh sure, we've got a presence there now. But Pakistan's touchy about that as it is.

Let's say you're made the head of Project Catch Osama. What would you do other than what we're doing?

Just out of curiosity, what would you say to someone you were actually trying to convince, rather than scream/hiss at?

Yeesh. You are aware that the most likely hiding spot for Bin Laden is in the Pakistani mountains, aren't you? And that our troops are not permitted to operate within Pakistan? So we have to rely on a very conflicted Pakistani government to pursue bin Laden? And in the meantime our only recourse is to crush Al Qaeda whereever else we find it? Which we're doing?

Guess not.

Because the Taliban refused to turn him over or curtail his activities. The Pakistani government is cooperating with us, at least overtly, in trying to find bin Laden and the Taliban. So the successful exercise of diplomacy has secured the cooperation of the Pakistani government, without necessitating war. Unfortunately Pakistan has little control over the mountainous region where bin Laden is most likely hiding.

Unlike Saddam, who had many enemies who helped us out, Usama has lots of fans\ and there is stiff resistance in Pakistan to America's efforts, particularly in the northwest region thereof, where the Pakhtun, Taliban, and (likely) Usama et al. are. "It's not an obsession, Mike"

Then why all the inane posts, dickhead?

"You're the one who talks endlessly about his perfect life with his dog and his wife and cocktails on the beach"

Not true. I've signed off like that from time to time, but 99% of my posts have nothing whatsoever to do with my life. Basically...you're lying through what few teeth you have left.

"Since you called me a chickenshit, I thought I'd give you the opportunity to show a little courage and provide proof of your lovely, happy life."

What possible reason would I or anyone have for proving anything to some moron who calls himself a fucking "Warden??" (Is that cell closing in on you??)

"I thought it only fair that I do the same in return."

Do WHAT in return?? Tell people you have a wife. WOW.

"I knew you wouldn't take me up on it. You're a craven little coward who hides behind a keyboard telling lies and spewing insults you'd never dare speak to someone's face."

I have no idea what makes you think I'm a "coward," nor do I understand what "lies" you're referring to. As for dealing with people "face to face," I've had my share of confrontations...good and bad.

"You don't have the guts to post a picture of yourself. because you don't have the balls to open yourself up to the ridicule that would follow."

Why in the world would I want to see what YOU look like?
Why do YOU want to know what I look like? Are you looking for a date? I said I have a beautiful intelligent wife. Whether you want to believe it, is your perogative, but it matters little to me. (My dog is good looking, too...do you want a picture of him??)

"Me, I'm not afraid to do these things because I'm not a gutless little worm like you, Mike. And I don't make up stories about who I am, where I live, and who I'm married to."

I haven't made up any stories about where I live or who I am. I live near the beach, run a business, in the past, owned 3 saloons/bars/taverns/whatever the fuck you want to call them, do go to the beach damn near every day, drink cocktails, beers, shots, booze, whatever, have a dog and a wife...and, in general, am happy with my life.

"So spin it however you like. Everyone here, including yourself, knows who the real chickenshit is. No surprise at all coming from someone who has burned through at least 5 pseudonymns, embarrassing himself with every single one of them."

Nobody knows me or damn near anything about me...except that I'm a flaming liberal who thinks Bush is a fucking moron and should have never been elected President. And I don't feel "embarrassed" in the least. I say what I believe...whether you like it or not.

139 NEW YORK With Fox News commentator Tony Snow hired as White House press secretary, Comedy Central anchor man Stephen Colbert suggested late Thursday that President Bush add other conservative talk show hosts to his cabinet.

The host of The Colbert Report proposed posts for Rush LImbaugh and Sean Hannity, and pushed his hero, Bill O'Reilly, for new Pentagon chief. Bush could send off Donald Rumsfeld with "the Medal of Freedom," he pointed out. The only problem with this is that O'Reilly would probably push for "an invasion of Vermont," he mused.

Colbert then suggested that Bush tab him to replace Michael Chertoff as head of Homeland Security. Chertoff, he complained, "has not done a thing" to control the bear population. A running "joke" on the show is Colbert's hatred of bears.

Earlier, Colbert had wondered, deadpan, if Snow would be able to handle the "radical" switch from Fox News to "apologist" for the president.

141 My life is the best!

Is anyone listening?

Hello?

142 I'm a flaming liberal

You misspelled "homosexual."

143 Mike own three bars in past? I have not heard of this! [Click] You are clearly more than mere man - have dog too, on beach! That legal in your land? Deep bow, honor you - shine on, you crazy epicanthial fold-challenged diamond!

144 Random Racist:
First of all, your method of posting is racist and witless.

With that said, what's your problem asshole?

No fucking life?? Do you live with the Warden??

Just becase you don't get out of that little trailer very often...don't take it out on me...just becase I do have a life.

And when you see the Warden, tell him he can blow me.

145 On contrary, Mike-saloon owner-san, I represent meta-irony distilled from prejudice of others, stereotype reclaiming its own signification, as it were. Metaphor come to life, in process mocking the racist presumptions that lie behind it, hai? I do not know Warden, but he seem honorable. No live in trailer, but not be ashamed if did. You round-eyes so quick to jump to conclusions.

Please forgive for challenging your world view. For you, a haiku by way of compensation:

Mike-san own saloon
Three at a time he has said
God weeps for his dog.

I come here day after day, looking at posts, hoping among hopes that Mike has not realized what a pathetic little twat he is and ran away. The highlight of my day is counting how many times this bitch quotes OTHER PEOPLES FUCKING WORK as if he thought of it and screams at anyone who challenges his posts to refute him. I can hardly hold back my laughter when he degenerates (not that he had to go far to begin with) into his trusty 5 year old repetitive "you stole my favorite crayon and i'm telling mommie" bullshit that involves a man's ass.

And then I stop laughing.

Suddenly, it hits me:

This guy is not fucking joking, he actually IS this way in real life.

...BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

what a douchebag.

Veritas

P.S. Mike, just so you know, so you can make your bullshit story of how you own 3 bars more believable on the next conservative blog you infect, try leaving out "whatever you call them" out of the sentence starting with "I owned." Otherwise, you just look like an overweight acne scarred virgin who lives in his mother's basement in between shifts at the blockbuster and 7 11 trying desperately to get people who disagree with you to believe this fantasy of a life you hav....

Oh. That really is you. My bad.

I hear jenny craig works. Good luck with that.

147 Not to mention kicking the can down the road for 8 years regarding Al Qaeda. Nice, that.

I think i will wright Jimmey C. and complain about the trade deficent and e-mail Regan's family about the loss of industry jobs. All though i'm not sure how an organization like Al Qaeda can be kicked down the road.
