Michael Bloomberg on a Presidential Bid: Why I Never!
— Dave In Texas

It was those crazy newspeoples, ginning up some crazy idea that I'd run, that's what it was.

Funny. You don't sound like Ross Perot.

I don't think you're really trying very hard.

1 Whatsamatta Mike, it isn't enough to be a nagging yenta to 8 million people, you hafta try for 300 million?

2 ricpic,

Yeah Mayor Mike is a busy body yenta, but would you rather have Fernando Ferrer or Mark Green as Mayor?

3 Mark Green?!?! He runs screaming from the room.

4 ricpic,

Treasure Mayor Mike while you can, because next election
you'll be looking at either Ferrer, Green, Carrion or some
other Dem. scumbag as our next Mayor!!!!

Fred: "Hillary, honey, you really would make a great Mayor of New York City, you know.  And I have always, personally, wanted to fuck a real Mayor's brains out for four or five days, more or less continuously, allowing for my responsibilities at home, ya know?  So let's make it happen, huh, girl?"

Hillary: "Well, that just depends on what the meaning of the word 'continuously' is."

BZZZT!?!?!?!

Who would vote for this tool?

A lifelong Dem decides to be a Republican for his mayoral campaign and then announces that he's really an independent.  That screams strong leadership and conviction.

Add to that the nanny state bullshit and a personality that's either non-existent or annoying and you do not get a presidential candidate.

OJ Simpson would get more votes than Bloomberg.

8 Rosetta,

He doesn't have to win. He just needs to be the Ross Perot of the 2008 election. Remeber, with no Perot there would be no Clinton Presidency!!!!

That's true, but Bloomberg would draw somewhere hovering around zero red-state Republican voters away from Rudy/Fred/Mitt, and I'm not sure he fits as an ideological alternative for the gibbering lunatics that consider Hillary! to be too "right wing".  His presidential run would be nothing more than a pointless vanity project.

I hear what you're saying McLovin as far as Bloomberg thinking he might be important as a spoiler but my point is what VJay is saying.

Who the hell votes for him?  If Bloomberg received more than 3% of the vote I would be suspcious of the result.

He has no attraction at all to either side.  Which maybe really does make him an independent; I can't see voters from either side supporting him.
