"Leviathan Warships" Advertisement is a Winner

"The best trailer for a videogame I've seen, period." I agree.

And when you're done partaking of the awesome, please enjoy some ill-advised pregnancy photos.

No, not that one.

These ones. "Boy."

The main stream publicists got very upset at the Kardashian Shamu photo.

But why?

1st reason might be they feel threatened by the blogosphere stealing their market share.

2nd reason might be they feel like one of their clients for whom they've worked so hard for building their celebrity, the Kardashians, are being tainted.

34 Marcus, yeah the socialist-progressives do not grok what they are doing.

For their quest to have empowered females in pantsuits, they sacrifice any children they may have early on.  Then once they have their career and boy-toy oft times finds they can no longer bear children because of those previous actions.  Then they are clamoring with adoption agencies or surrogates.  So by their own selfish actions have limited the natural replacement pool for socialist-progressives.  Or even worse, steal other peoples children.

Socialist-progressives are parasites.

I would guess the plane had just taken off from Bagram.  Steep ascent to avoid Taliban Johnny and his golden BB gun.

Cargo shifting because not enough tie-downs were used or someone did not distribute the fuel in the correct tanks.  But that plane pitched nose up too steeply at too low an altitude.  Stalled.  Fell off on its right wing because that wing lost lift first.  And wham.

Trust me, the takeoff from Bagram is difficult enough without a cargo shift like that- which is what I believe it was. No way those guys would make a fueling mistake. That crew was veteran to many flights around different battle zones.

VHF reported a cargo shift on the stored vehicles. That's the cursory cause.

107 Sorry Marcus not directed at you when I was a freight dog at Dayton International the one pooint I made on my exit interview was to get the goddamned temps to properly use cargo straps and blocking and bracing and barrier slats to stabilize loads...

we lost a bird three years later over San Diego to load shift...

I hate lazy incompetent fuckers who kill people with stupidity.

Sorry

113 110 Conservative Monster,

If she doesn't I can... CPT Browning was who he was when he was right he was balls to the floorboard right and when he fucked up it was potentially spectacular.

Posted by: sven10077@sven10077 at April 30, 2013 10:49 AM (LRFds)

114 CM Browning was the person who wanted the birds to go outside of Bingo range....

and he got his way and we caught them on the decks...he was simply a genius...he was also so anti-social that he and Spruance couldn't communicate effectively...this is what I mean by Halsey and browning being a gestalt persona...

Had Spruance not edged further in before launch we may have lost the US Air crews in greater numbers.

NAVAV is an interesting command dynamic

115 @ Sven:

Thanks for the reply, though I'm afraid I don't see how that would cost us Midway.

Is it about making excessively risky command decisions?   eg:  if he was wrong about Japan's fleet location, leading to loss of planes and aircrew, leaving the US with no carrier strike capability when the enemy fleet was eventually found?

116 115 CM,

well he would have had us lose the pilots...the pilots are the key not the birds which were largely falling behind SOTA....

guy was just stone cold ruthless....

they said he had the manners of a chainsaw and a slide rule for a brain

117 Posted by: MWR, Proud Tea(rrorist) Party Assault Hobbit at April 30, 2013 03:09 PM (4df7R) I'm just bitter about the weird tableau of me at nine mos, barely able to breathe let alone move, recumbent on the beach of a leather sofa with a large white cat on my belly that is brought out on family occasions. The hugeness. I'd never been above 130 pounds in my life and it was quite a shock.

125 VHF = Very High Frequency, or what somebody thought was very high most of a century ago. For the jaded techies, I recommend a study of early radio. People were doing wild shit on the edge of the known. My favorite story is about the discovery (not invention) of "Short Wave" radio. At the start of WW I the government was real worried about pesky amateurs daring to communicate over the air without the government being able to listen, or tax. They pretended it was a national security thing and maybe it even was a little bit. But some brainiac said "Give them the short waves and they'll never get to the next county!" Oops. They didn't know about ionospheric reflection (or the ionosphere) and assumed that because SW didn't propagate around the curvature of the Earth, long-range communication at those frequencies was impossible. So one night some dude in Virginia starts getting a signal (morse) from a station with a call sign beginning with "F", indicating the region around Cincinnati Ohio, which was pretty impressive range. But when the two amateurs tried to converse, they did not understand anything the other was saying except for the standard radio shorthand codes for "How do you read me?", and so on. Finally the guy in Virginia figured out that the "F" prefix was not the American national prefix for southern Ohio, but an international prefix, and that the reason he couldn't understand his contact was because his contact was sending in French - from France. And suddenly, a thousand federal bureaucrats, every one a Wilson Democrat, shit their drawers.
