Joe Biden: "Don't Blame Us, Obama And I Aren't Technogogy Geeks"
— JohnE.

No, he really said that.

Biden said he and Obama were under the impression the site was ready.

"Neither he or I are technology geeks and we assumed it was up and ready to run," he told HLN.

...

When asked why it will still take a month for the the glitches to be fixed, Biden didn't have an answer.

"I don't know the technical reasons," he said. "I don't know, I wish I could tell you. that's why I became a lawyer."

We aren't tech geeks.

We assumed it would work.

Don't ask me, I'm just a lawyer.

Welcome to government-run healthcare, America. On the plus side, it's not just mind-numbingly frustrating and inoperable, it's also wildly expensive. So, there's that.

Did anyone else notice that yesterday Secretary Kathy moved the goalposts  yet again?

Now she's saying that the sites should be  up and running by  December 1st.

Up until she said that, the date was "mid-November".

They can't delay this too much longer after that.

And December 1st is still only 4 weeks away.

I'm not excusing them knocking out Marty Balin of Jefferson Airplane or some of the other crap they did, but there's a reason they were never charged with that particular guy's death despite the film footage of it.

284 Bad idea. Did you hear about the Altamont Free Concert? Bunch of Hells Angels were hired to do "security" and they beat a guy to death. Spypeach,

My daughter had neighbors that would leave their dog outside all night in the rain, cold, snow.  Poor thing would cry all night keeping everyone up.  I suggested that she draft a letter from the "Neighborhood" to tell them that if they didn't treat their dog right that they would file charges with animal control.  She left the letter and immediately they started bringing the dog in at night and not leaving the dog outside in the daytime if was raining/snowing.

It worked.  She has seen them walking the dog on a leash and it seems that they are taking care of him.  Some people are just brain dead stupid and need to be told either by biker or a letter.  Good luck.

309 O/T at Drudge: Lerner sent confidential tax info of Tea Party groups to the FEC:

"According to Judicial Watch, the materials “from the IRS’ files sent from Lerner to the FEC containing detailed, confidential information about the organizations. These include annual tax returns (Forms 990) and request for exempt recognition forms (Form 1024), Articles of Organization and other corporate documents, and correspondence between the nonprofit organizations and the IRS. Under Section 6013 of the Internal Revenue Code, it is a felony for an IRS official to disclose either ‘return information or ‘taxpayer return information,’ even to another government agency.”

Some of them had better marketing to cover up bugs.

There's an Asteroids knockoff for the Intellivision called Space Hawk with a bug in it that causes you to use the Hyperspace function if you use a certain combination of keys.

They couldn't fix it, so they wrote up in the manual that there are occasionally black holes in the game and that, if your guy moved by accident, it was because he used Hyperspace to avoid it.

311 Back in 2008, Silicon Valley was full of constant talk about how it was time to have a President who was "tech-savvy", and that Barack Obama was the man of the hour.

We now witness the results.

However, so far as the elite executives of the Valley are concerned, Obama has pointedly refrained from rescinding any of the absolutely blatant tax dodges from which they and their firms benefit. So don't expect any groundswell of discontent. Those execs will keep on writing fat checks to Organizing For America.

It's an every man car... at a Cadillac price. Whaddya mean sales are single digits?" - Solyndra: "Let's invest in machines that sing Disney tunes so that we can build solar panels at 2-3 times the standard price and in excess of market demand!" - Fast and Furious:"How were we supposed to know that shipping illegal weapons to drug cartels would result in murders?" - Benghazi: "Hey, let's put an embassy in the middle of a war zone, without any real security, and ship arms to Syria from there" - Egypt: "Whaddya mean all those people shouting "Death to America" and overthrowing elected governments are terrorists?" - Iran: "What? They're still building reactors? We told them that we didn't like that!" - Obamacare:"Hey, we really don't know anything about technology, healthcare, or insurance but how about we make a website, make everyone by insurance from us, and make decisions about what they do and don't need in a health insurance plan" Huh... it's almost as if people with law degrees who have never had job in their entire lives and never produced anything of value, and have never so much as negotiated a car payment shouldn't be allowed to run the world. Who knew?

Nope, definitely not an expert. How about her direct reports? Since she thought this was going to go off swimmingly, clearly her direct reports aren't experts either. How far down to we have to go to get to an actual expert? This shit would never fly in the private sector. It shouldn't fly in the public sector, but it does.

They're not law geeks for the IRS persecution of TEA Party groups filing for non-profit status: those geeks got promoted; and the lesser peons got reprimanded.

They're not foreign policy geeks for Arab Spring, Egypt, Libya and Bengazi: SoS got a headache and retired, some slut lied over the weekend on all the major TV networks and got promoted.
