The difference between a sporting event and professional wrestling is honesty.

As a New Yorker (a Giants fan), I have to say, this is a long time coming. I would have sued that team years ago if were a fan.

When they went something like 11-1 and then, lost the next 4 games and the first game of the playoffs (with Mark Gastineau), I would have sued the crap out of them for emotional distress and added a bunch of punitive damages.

I say, I hope they win. If they do, man are the Giants going to owe me some cash. Starting with a certain play in 1979 that cost me a win on my football card, the Ray Handley era is worth at least a few mill, and forget about the QB "controversy" between Dave Freaking Brown and Kent Freaking Graham, that's what'll get me into Bill Gates territory.

I've sometimes wondered what would stop a citizen from filing a huge civil rights lawsuit against a county or municipality when one of their democrats election officials gets caught red handed stuffing a ballot box. Thre is no civil right more precious than the right to vote, and stuffing the ballot box or juicing the numbers electronically pretty much invalidates the actual votes of the citizenry. A couple of multi-million dollar settlements might get those crook's attention.

8 I am not a season ticket holder but can I sue the Mets (the relief pitchers specifically) for choking like a fat man on a chicken leg?

Posted by: Drew at September 29, 2007 06:45 AM (hlYel)

9 No, but I'm suing your ass for that insensitive metaphor.

Posted by: Fat Man at September 29, 2007 07:13 AM (wkjFE)

10 Drew -- File it in LA and you're guaranteed a sympathetic jury.  Our Dodgers choke like Paris Hilton in a washroom stall...

11 Fuck you Fat Man. I'm the one who's been slandered here.

From SI.com.

Have you noticed that if you take the number of points the Patriots have scored in each game this year (3 , multiply that by the number of seasons Bill Belichick has coached in New England ( , multiply that by the number of Sports Illustrated Coach of the Year awards Belichick has won (2), add Tom Brady's number (12), and subtract the number of Belichick Super Bowl wins (3), you get 617. Or put another way, 6/17 (June 17th), the day of the Watergate break-in. Coincidence? I think not.

some people have WAY too much free time...

This guy really ought to sue the Jets for being the Patriots' bitches the last eight years.

15 Whatever, the Jets still, and will continue to, suck.

16 The Dolphins suck even worse.  Its becoming a matter of pride in south FL that we have such a sucky team and inept coaches.

17 Can the audience sue for a rotten movie then?  Hollywood's got the money!  Let's sue George Lucas!  Exhibit A: Jar-Jar Binks.

Exhibit B? Han shot first. Heck, we even have his admission that he was wrong to change that.

Let me complete the trifecta:  Bills = HAHAHAHAHAHAHA - well, they kind of have a running game, but still, hahahahahaha.

The Pats are that good and all the other teams in the AFC East suck?  And it's been like that for a few years?  What is this crap?  This is NFC West behavior here, except with obnoxiousness (I'd think even if I were a Niners fan it'd be hard to get mad at the Seahawks).

Actually, I rather detested all that "Meesa" nonsense, but George insisted that I try to sound more appealing to the, how did he phrase it?, oh yes, " typical vulgar Star Wars fan".

Of course, I proved to be far more resonant in my perceptions.

Veeshir - I totally agree!  Han shot first, and what would you expect from a smuggler when an assassin begins with a long speech?

25 What's he going to do when the defence explains that the tapes taken in the first quarter were never even looked at during that game?  Do I need to go into the 38 - 14 drubbing of the chargers or the 38 - 7 win over the Bills?  Thought not.  Looking forward to more Belechik-Brady Mayhem tonight vs the Bengals.
