Israeli Strike Hits Milk Factory Morgue?
— Ace

Confederate Yankee is skeptical of the "dead children" photos. He seems to believe that maybe corpses from local morgues have been shipped into to the Qana strike-site as propaganda.

I don't know. The evidence seems sketchy. But it's not like I can vouch for the impeccable reputation of Hizbollah.

But if the first report of the building's collapse did indeed come eight hours after the strike... Well, it does seem implausible that anyone would wait that long to evacuate a bombed building.

Michelle wants to know if Hezbollah has dropped leaflets warning civilians to clear out, as the IDF has.

And of course there's the quite predictable "Muslim fury."

I have this amazing plan to reduce Muslim fury:

Muslim extremists should stop starting wars they can't win and killing civilians indiscriminately.

Want to talk "root causes"? Call me crazy, but the "root cause" of Muslim anger seems to be other Muslims committing atrocities, war crimes, murder, mayhem, and terrorism, and then being stunned and surprised when people actually fight back.

Has This Been Posted Here Yet? I imagine everyone must have seen this. Like the Soviets endlessly parading the same tanks and missile launchers in a circle to suggest greater numbers of such weapons, Hezbollah's buddies seem to take a very long amount of time to move a dead child into an ambulance.

The Silence of the Geneva Conventions: Odd, isn't it, that we only hear about the Geneva Conventions when they can be used as a club to bash America and Israel?

Isn't there some obscure provision in there about armies wearing uniforms and such?

Isn't that, you know, sort of tucked in there for a reason?

I guess not. I suppose it's just a provision having only to do with battlefield fashion.

Comment Of The Day: "Bewildered in Ohio" finally figured it all out. Don't let his onscreen handle fool you.

Call me crazy

Okay, you're fucking nuts. Why are wingnuts so invested in proving that everything Israel does, including obvious human rights violations, are by definition right and lawful? Is Pajamas Media partly financed by AIPAC?

You nailed it, dude. I'm up to my eyeballs in filthy Jew-Money. I'm going to take some of it and buy me a filthy Jew-High-Definition-TV and maybe a filthy Jew-Shower-XM-Radio, because I needs me my satellite broadcasts from Tel Aviv telling me what to write while I'm washin' my junk.

Sandy Berger notes, meanwhile, that he's shilling for the Zionist Pig-Monkey Butchers for free!

Silly.

I'm tellin' ya, these Jews got all the money. "If you prick me, do I not bleed?" Oh, they bleed all right-- cash f'n' money. They may drink the blood of Palestinian babies, but trust me, they bleed US tender. How their metabolic processes manage this I don't know; I figure they're just very crafty or something.

Ka-Ching!
Michael:

"Has This Been Posted Here Yet?"

Yes, Ace, Harrison posted that yesterday. And by the way, I'm fixing your typos. I can't stop myself.

3 I'm even more bewildered than you are, Bewildered. All this time, I've been supporting the only pro-American democracy in the middle east in their struggle against genocidal extremists, and I've been doing it for free. Now you're telling me there's money to be made holding opinions that any sane moral person would consider self-evident? Sweet. Count me in! APICAC, where is my paycheck?

Phew! I'm glad I finally got that out.

5 "Why are wingnuts so invested in proving that everything Israel does, including obvious human rights violations, are by definition right and lawful?"

Because people like you help enable this crap. Hezballah uses human shields because they know it knee caps their enemies and keeps them from using full force when they start fights they have no business being in. People like you lap it up. What do you want Israel to do? Just sit there and take rocket attacks every day? Yet, when they respond to an act of war, people like you trot out all this human rights violations/war crimes bullshit that wouldn't even be an issue if these fucking terrorist groups would stand up and actually fight like men. There wouldn't be any "human rights violations" if Hezballah wouldn't have attacked Israel in the first place. What is so damn hard to understand about that? Hezballah has been violating human rights for a long long time but we never hear a peep about that from PEOPLE LIKE YOU.

Yeah, yeah, Ace, I know you wingers are the experts on anti-Semites...like that Mel Gibson guy, for example.

Personally, I do not question Israel's right to exist, and I suspect most of the leaders of the non-failed Arab states (hint: not Iraq or Lebanon, after its pounding by the Israelis) don't either. Why do you guys keep pursuing this self-defeating strategery?

Posted by: Bewildered No More! at July 31, 2006 03:26 PM (7xIbI)

7 Jeeze bewildered.

We're trying to say "Israel committing a War Crime" is bad, and "Hezbollah committing a War Crime" is also bad.

It's just that Israel _may_ have hit a building containing civilians - which isn't even necessarily a War Crime, depending on if anyone was firing from there etc.

On the other hand, Hezbollah fired 129 Kashuta rockets on Sunday. Let's see: that's 129 infractions of 'non-uniformed combatant', that's 129 infractions 'no indiscriminate free-fire zones', probably 65 cases (around half) were 'minors engaged in warfare'. This isn't even counting 'firing from mosque' or 'hiding behind civilian'. That's 323 "War Crimes" in a day - without even breaking into a sweat on the counting.

Posted by: Al at July 31, 2006 03:27 PM (4Thhc)

8 Also, since moonbats are stuck in the concrete stage of childhood development, they are unable to cognitively understand the concept of distinctions. Israel is targeting military sites and trying its hardest to minimize civilian casualties. Hezballah not only started this war, but is specifically targeting civilians. Who do you have words of condemnation for? Israel. Lovely moral compass you have there.

11 One question: Where are the survivors?  Where are the injured?

We have a partially collapsed three-storey building (the roof is still intact), no fire, nothing catastrophic, and yet everybody inside, without exception, was killed.

12 Bewildered No More,

*I'm* not pursuing a self-defeating strategy.

Newsflash: I'm not in the Israeli government, not in the IDF, not an Israeli citizen, and, in fact, not even Jewish.

As for why the ISRAELIS are pursuing this strategy:

I think, generally, when someone launches a 100+ rockets per day into your cities you are required to defend yourself. No?

What would you suggest they do? Negotiate with Hezbollah, which is 1, committed to the destruction of Israel according to its charter, and 2, which has no legitimate grief with Israel in the first place?

I find it interesting that you seem to assume I'm one of those, as Mel Gibson termed them, "fucking Jews... who cause all the wars."

Ace, no, I don't assume anything about your religious affiliation or that of any of your readers. Unconditional support for Israel is a major litmus test of Republican political correctness under the Bush/Neocon White House.

By the way, I really dug being slurred as an anti-Semite in your "Update." However, I honestly don't care. You people (REPUBLICANS) will tell any kind of lie and talk any kind of trash to avoid facing the reality you have created.

Posted by: Bewildered by Ace's Disingenuousness at July 31, 2006 03:42 PM (7xIbI)

16 Or maybe Ohio never read the Geneva Convention which says:

The presence of a protected person may not be used to render certain points or areas immune from military operations.

Thanks to the Powerline guys.

17 It's true. The Republicans made Hizballah do it. We gave them no choice.

18 Well, Bewildered, I'd hardly want to impugn a man who just wrote that I was a Jew-apologist owing to my big Jew-dollars from Jew-AIPAC.

I really have no idea how I got the whiff of antisemitism off that post, and I completely apologize for engaging in any sort of name-calling against you.

You've certainly been more than civil thusfar. I mean, you just said I was an unregistered lobbyist for the filthy Jew-state of Israel, but that is, to a leftist, a sort of "Hey, how ya doin'?" kind of opening gambit.

20 Making pictures with dead children just for the camera. That is sick shit. Perhaps, the religion of peace is sick.

Posted by: Leatherneck at July 31, 2006 03:47 PM (D2g/j)

21 The only thing you've talked about so far is your generosity in accepting that Israel has a right to exist and that they have obviously committed human rights violations. Why are we supposed to take anything you say seriously? Exactly what did Israel do to deserve the Hamas and Hezballah provocations that started all of this? Defending a country that was attacked by another now makes someone a wingnut? No one is happy about what Israel did if they did in fact do it, but that doesn't render their actions of self defense any less valid. ONCE AGAIN, Israel is not targeting civilians, and that is the point. All Hezballah has to do is return the soldiers they kidnapped and all these "human rights violations" will cease.

Posted by: thelinyguy at July 31, 2006 03:49 PM (7xc/4)

22 By the way, I really dug being slurred as an anti-Semite in your "Update."

If you don't want to be described as an anti-Semite, the first comment you make shouldn't accuse someone pro-Israel of receiving payment from the Israel Lobby.

Right here and now lets hear some truth Mr. Troll. 1. who started this war. 2.Where did the Hizbulla get it's weapons. 3.how many leaflets did they rain down on Isreal before launching Kytushas. 4.How come there were no male adults among the dead. 5.How come no blood. I could go on but answer these first, will see who lies.

36 I've always been the kinda guy who distrusted emotion and insisted that we never cut off our nose to spite our face. To deal with unpleasant situations by diapering the Europeans for the sake of stability and the mentally retarded, rocking the Middle East to sleep at the cost of our own safety ("democracy, they deserve a chance!"), and generally taking the upper road for the planet.

However, I've had it. I'm flat out sick with with the Europeans, the UN, and the Arabs. They can all kiss my ass. Bomb the hell out of all of the Middle East and let them clean up the pieces. Tell the Russians, Chinese, and EUnuchs to piss off if they don't like it.

The more that we and the Israelis tip toe around with these war criminals the more self-righteous a tone our enemies take, and we don't even recognize the majority of them as enemies in response. Cut off immigration from the Middle East. Cut off funding for the UN (but leave our ambassador in a clown suit w/megaphone to veto anything in the security council) and do everything possible to discredit it in public. Withdraw from NATO (don't forget the ROK!) and play hardball with defense cooperation on missile defense and counterterrorism. If their governments don't want to ante up in public behind us, and would rather leave us to the dogs in their idiotic publics, fuck them.

Perhaps it is irresponsible, but we can't babysit the entire world for a bunch of ingrates who do everything possible to hamstring us.

Sorry for the rant, I'm just sick and tired of the world right now.
