Judicial Watch Secures White House Email Stating That Primary Goal of Susan Rice Appearances Were to Establish That Benghazi Attack Was Due to "Internet Video" and Not "Failure of Policy"
— Ace

Here's that FOIA'd email. Judicial Watch published a press release noting this and other emails.

Ben Rhodes is currently "Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategic Communications and Speechwriting."

As the second "Goal" of Rice's appearances -- second only to a reassurance that Obama was working hard to protect the American people -- is this:

* To underscore that these protests are rooted in an Internet video, and not a broader failure of policy.

In a series of model answers to potential questions, the memo states:

Q: What's your response to the Independent story [they mean the UK newspaper the Independent -- ace] that says we have intelligence 48 hours in advance of the Benghazi attack that was ignored? Was this an intelligence failure?

We are not aware of any actionable intelligence indicating that an attack on the U.S. Mission in Benghazi was planned or imminent. The currently available information suggests that the demonstrations in Benghazi were spontaneously inspired by the protests at the US Embassy in Cairo and evolved into a direct assault against the US consulate and subsequently its annex.

Background: Ben Rhodes, Obama's "fixer," is known to have been at the center of the editing/scrubbing operation since the start, working closely with Hillary's own Palace Guard Victoria Nuland.

And would destroy Obama's presidency is the media was anywhere near unbiased. But no. They are all-in, all progressive activists masquerading as journalists and editors. THAT is the problem. Now if there were only some organization or, more fun(!), some.....party- that could provide some kind of opposition to the Obama administration- and tie together all of these lies like this and Obamacare, Fast and Furious- and present the case that they needed more members not only to provide a check on Obama and his minions but to actually reverse the course of his policies. Just imagine. Oh, and they'd not be interested in amnesty for illegal aliens and respect the rule of law.... Yeah, i know...that's science fiction.

246 OT- but speaking of Star Wars... Here's something that won't have Jar Jar Binks in it: If no one's mentioned it- Here's the new Asian trailer for Godzilla; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1pX97_0rxU It looks awesome. It also now is pretty clear that they are borrowing a theme from the 1990s rebooted Gamera Trilogy- That being that Gamera is a guardian spirit of Earth who hates humanity ju-u-u-u-u-ust a little bit less than he hates the other monsters who throw the Earth out of balance with their hijinks. Here are the trailers for the Gamera Trology: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CY9CVUWW-PA Here is the movie that probably formed the framework for the new Godzilla movie- Gamera 3: The Revenge of Iris http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuZHuHYmoFw Which has the most badass ending in all of kaiju- it is just epic- and really sets expectations for the next Gamera flick. At which point, they rebooted the reboot and threw it all away in "Gamera the Brave" though they did give a short prologue in GtB which at least solves the "Dark Knight"-ish style cliffhanger at the end of Gamera 3. And gets rid of mean Gamera before rebooting him as cutey-pie Gamera, friend of children.

294 Have to start with the caveat: Of course what Sterling is alleged to have said was wrong, racist, etc. I do not agree with the statements.

However.

I find it disgusting that  right-ish commentators such as Jim Geragthy have to write hairshirt columns about how we MUST denounce Sterling in no uncertain terms, and be very strident about it...or else the MFM will paint us as racists. Honestly, the condescending tone, as if we are retarded children who need to be spoon-fed how to properly react, pisses me off to no end.

I've seen some reaction from libs and minorities that make Sterling sound like MLK. I understand the double standard, I live it every day.

Mostly I am sick - that any administration could so callously bungle the events that night, and show such disregard for those men's lives - and then have the sheer gall to blatantly paint their ineptitude with a false - ass bull-shit lie. And even more angry to realize they felt the can get away with it because our nation's press is in their pocket. 386 I believe the recording was also illegal in CA. According to a local morning radio DJ (I've not bothered checking to see if true), her official job was as Sterling's personal archivist. Her unofficial title being "gold digging whore", obviously. Why he would feel the need for an archivist I don't know, but if her job entailed recording his calls and other correspondence (with his consent), then it wouldn't be illegal. Adding to the bizarreness of the situation it would also imply that he knew (or should've known) that he was being recorded.

Carrie Fisher struggled with alcohol and drug addiction in her twenties and well into her thirties.  Although she's been clean and sober for many years now, addiction always leaves a mark. It steals beauty, ruins health, shortens lives. That she was even considered for the role speaks to the strength of her recovery.

Mark Hamill was absolutely great as a torture-loving homosexual career criminal in a little independent crime thriller called 'Sushi Girl' a few years ago. Give him the right material, and he can run with it.

441 This should surprise no one -- and anyone who would be surprised by it will never hear of it because the media will not report on it. (Oh, and those on the right who spent time criticising Romney for the "timing" of his press conference on 9/12 or who claimed that Romney "lost" the 2nd debate when the moderator inserted herself into the debate to lie for Obama and then refused to allow Romney to respond helped with the media cover up, so I'm sure Obama is grateful). Besides, we all should focus on what the NBA should do to Sterling -- because the racist views of an 80 year old man who is a big enough fool to have a 20 year old mistress is what really effects our daily lives.

There are absolutely no repercussions for bad behavior in our current government. Bad shit happens, but no one gets punished. In this case, Susan Rice got another cush government job, the guy who wrote this email is still sucking off the federal teat, I'm sure. The DEATH STAR was defeated, along with what    components of the Imperial Fleet were in the vicinity.   The rest of the Fleet, however, presumably survived, and were left    with a serious power vacuum.

The Rebels struck a fairly decisive blow by killing off the Emperor and his right hand man, but undoubtedly it would take a long time to regain control of all the systems that had been loyal to the Empire.

519 441 This should surprise no one -- and anyone who would be surprised by it will never hear of it because the media will not report on it. The media, in fact, actively participated in the cover up and made blaming Romney for daring to talk about it the "story." (Oh, and those on the right who spent time criticising Romney for the "timing" of his press conference on 9/12 or who claimed that Romney "lost" the 2nd debate when the moderator inserted herself into the debate to lie for Obama and then refused to allow Romney to respond helped with the media cover up, so I'm sure Obama is grateful). Besides, we all should focus on what the NBA should do to Sterling -- because the racist views of an 80 year old man who is a big enough fool to have a 20 year old mistress is what really effects our daily lives. Posted by: Dancing Queen at April 29, 2014 01:55 PM (5SlKF) The American Media should be treated like the Waffen SS. Geniuses. Punish the players and staff for one old crotchety dude who committed a thought crime that everyone here's grandfather committed. Great plan. Idiots.

622 James Jesus Angleton, one of the most brilliant and effective counterintelligence officers this country has ever produced, was a Yale-educated poet--a fairly good one, in fact. Just sayin'. I wonder how many black players (on whatever team it is we're talking about) will be harmed more from this action than the comments in a "private" phone call.

I read somewhere yesterday and have no idea if it's true that Magic Johnson wanted to buy the Clippers and he and fancy pants were in cahoots.

I guess at this point anything is possible.

629 Sterling should simply fire the coaches, staff, everyone he can legally fire and let the local rec team take on the Warriors tonight. Or simply shut down, let the playoff series end unfinished.

Posted by: Dang at April 29, 2014 09:27 AM (MNq6o)

636 He was only in the movies for a few minutes, for heaven's sake. I don't think anyone (outside of Sofia Coppola) could be called a terrible anything when their screentime is less than ten minutes, total.

Posted by: MWR, Proud Tea(rrorist) Party Bossy Assault Hobbit at April 29, 2014 02:23 PM (4df7R)

I didn't think he was a good fit for the character, no matter the screen time. He was not cool, far too dorkyish.

637

not allowing him in his arena with his team is an unlawful "taking"

thought

suppose there are other things said on the hundreds of hours of tape that would really damage the NBA in other ways, as in player drug use, crimes, and NBA collusion

mayb the NBA doesnt want any other tapes to get out.  Ever.

638 Didn't he get a wee bit too paranoid and shut down almost all intelligence gathering because he was so concerned about wrongly acting on Soviet counter-intelligence?

Posted by: Dang at April 29, 2014 02:20 PM (MNq6o)

In the latter few years of his career, a now elderly Angleton began drinking more and more until his judgement became questionable and clouded. He was put on the fast road to retirement when he claimed (publicly) that Henry Kissinger was a likely communist spy. A few years after that, Stansfield Turner, Carter's CIA chief, forced him out when Angelton was found to have ordered the infiltration of domestic 'liberal' groups whom Angelton considered Soviet fronts. As it turns out, those groups were, in fact, Soviet front groups but CIA infiltration of them was a violation of the CIA's charter. He was out.

643 Of course they lied because the election was less than two months away. They should be prosecuted! I am willing to bet that if Hillary runs the GOP will remain silent on Benghazi, because we know the GOP is The Stupid Party & will not do what is necessary to win. Last night I almost agreed with the few who said Cruz won't appeal to everybody. Now today I think it has to be Cruz because he's got balls & is NOT afraid to speak the truth. It's too early, but Ted Cruz is the only one that isn't afraid to speak out. Romney tried on September 11, 2012 & then went silent. Why? Let me guess, charges of racism?

644 I can hardly wait to see Jeb Bush tearing into Hillary about this in the debates.  And by "hardly wait" I mean "drop dead from sheer fucking astonishment."

I think the players made their point clear and made it well when they tossed their jerseys.

I think the NBA is going to pretend that none of their other owners in their mansions and security penthouses really think like Stern too.
