It's hot outside, I think I'll watch racing on the tube.
Formula 1 on Speed at 8:00 am (repeats at 12:30 pm).
Rolex Sports Car Series on Speed at 3:00 pm.
Champ Car on NBC at 3:30 pm.
Indy Car on ABC at 3:30 pm. All times Eastern.

Here's a lap of Le Mans from 1995 in a McLaren F1.
God Bless Youtube.

1 More of a Nascar man myself.

But there's no sweeter sound than a formula.

2 That was fun. Watched the Shoe uber alles earlier.

3 Also more NASCAR. Don't #&$! with NASCAR! Actually, that link is serious. Goes to a MySpace page opposing the KY Speedway lawsuit against NASCAR. Worth checking out.

4 They have racing in your Tubes.

Senator Stephens should be told, double fast.

5 For Schumi fans it was a fine race. I enjoyed seeing him win on home soil. Looks like next week's race in Hangary will have Renault scrambling to regain some momentum.

6 Pigilito-
There's the rub. Renault's problem ( and others' ) was the heat on the Michelin tires. With no testing allowed it could mean a major change in the points situation in the next few races. Turkey is coming up, also. Very hot.

7 For soor eet was nice to, uh, see Makael ween de race today but I dink Frenandi Alonso is a very marvelous lookeen person, and I mean dat, for soor. Eet's funtastic, you know, to see de cars go fast because the cars they do go fast and the, ee, drivairs, they like going fast too, witheen leemits, of course, for soor. Eh, but he is for soor fast, Frendno, and ees a confident driver, Makael is faster today, will be faster today.

Keemi, he moves de microphone, how you say, too much.

I enjoyed Kimi's comments this week:

"mumble mumble mumble mumble mumble mumble mumble mumble mumble mumble mumble mumble mumble mumble mumble mumble mumble mumble mumble mumble mumble mumble mumble mumble mumble mumble mumble"

I think he's onto something there.

9 Going to a nascar evnent beats having to watch those silly award shows and listening to some hollywood wussie wads give a boring speech thanking everything critter on the earth for why they won

10 Dude, awesome, totally awesome, for sure.

11 Feh to NASCAR. Give me lightweight, aerodynamic carbon-fiber and unobtainium-composed machines at the pinnacle of technology, revving to 19,000 RPM before braking 'til the tires smoke and the brakes glow from the heat before banging over curbs at the edge of adhesion, on courses that include right and left turns, slow corners, fast corners, chicanes, and elevation changes. Give me setup and fuel-stop strategy that's different for every track. And give me the dry snarky color commentary of David Hobbs.

Formula 1 and MotoGP are pretty much the only motorsports I give a crap about. Actually, pretty much the only sports period that I give a crap about. Motocross and sports car racing can be fun to watch sometimes, but I can't get into watching drivers just go around in an oval at pretty much the same speed, with the same turning radius, for three hours.

12 Alex -- Formula One is soccer with tires. Throw a dime on the track and you'll get a twelve car pileup. A contact that wouldn't mess the decals in Nascar has spoilers and tires flying every which way in F1. The race officials can TELL a driver to let another guy pass. That ain't racing.

Nice grid babes, tho, give ya that.
