Happy Weekend! (And Open Blog)
— Ace

Sorry for not blogging today. I had to do non-blog-work all night last night and just couldn't get motivated to write another post about Larry Craig.

I see my minions have been busy. Thank you, Minions.

I'm just wishing everyone a happy weekend as it's a holiday weekend, not because I intend to take it off. Though I won't be around tonight.

So, Open Blog.

And another thing with Senator Craig since I had a hard time explaining my issue.

Let's change the facts around a little.  Let's say Craig is in a bar at the airport, and he's a single guy.  He walks up to the bar and sits next to a women, she has a low cut blouse and a back tat showing that say "Slippery when Wet". He's checking out her body, hot, tight, sweet, Ann Coulter meets Pam Anerson look.  He says "Hi". She says, "I wish, either that or a good old fashion lay would be great right now".  He says, "wow, hungry aren't you".  She says, "You interested?".  He says, well yeah but were at the airport.  She says' "Yes, but my van is right over in the parking lot, plenty of room for a good time".

He says, "well let's finish our drinks and check it out".

She says: UNDERCOVER OFFICER YOU UNDER ARREST FOR SOLICITATION OF SEX IN A PUBLIC PLACE!

Now would anyone be calling for him to resign?

Would anyone guy wanted to be arrested for such a conversation?

And what if we had thousands of undercover women in bars all over the country doing this at each place someone has been caught making out in a car?

Are we accepting of this sting simply because its being perpetrated on gays?

I have certainly heard of guys being arrested for soliciting a prostitute.  I have never heard of a story of a guy being arrested for soliciting sex in a heterosexual, non-prostitution setting.  Perhaps I will Google and find it happens all the time.

Funny, it appears when you google arrests for soliciting public sex, all you get is 'gay' references.  And yet I am certain many more straight people have solicited sex in public places...Hmmmm..something to ponder.

Is it true straight people never have sexual contact in public??

Here's an interesting story:

"""A Web site that helped Farmington police target a hot spot for public gay sex lists 28 locations in Albuquerque — including parks, bathrooms at the University of New Mexico and a number of private businesses.

Local police say having sex in public, whether gay, straight or otherwise, is considered indecent exposure —a misdemeanor — or disorderly conduct — a petty misdemeanor.

The Albuquerque locations listed on the Web site, including almost all the city's sex shops, AREN'T targets of police campaigns as they were in Farmington (gay sex location), Albuquerque police say.""""

Funny, the police targeted the GAY places and left the HETERO sex shop businesses alone even though it's the same crime.  In fact the sex shops most likely include prostitution which is even a bigger crime then just solictation of free sex.

And to top it off, in a location known for BOTH gay and straight sex, only men were used to lure gay men, no hetero sting was employed...go figure.

Posted by: Poppy at September 01, 2007 02:38 AM (SObBE)

25 10 men arrested in a Santa Barbara case argued that police targeted them because they are gay men. Defense attorneys persuaded Santa Barbara Superior Court Judge Brian E. Hill to order the Sheriff’s Department to give arrest records for all of those who had been previously arrested and charged with “lewd conduct” matters.
“And what we found was that the arrests were limited to gay men,” said Brian Cota, deputy district attorney.  Attorney John Clarkson, an attorney for the defendants, said, “Well, that’s what heterosexuals do everywhere in places called lovers’ lanes. And there’s been no sting against them.”
Another defense lawyer, Robert Sanger, said, “What I argued in court was that there was never any similar case against heterosexuals. They never set up a heterosexual sting operation on a nude beach with a female officer luring men into bushes, which is what they did in this instance.”

Of course they didn't.  Straights wouldn't stand for it...

No, you explained yourself just fine.  It's just that, I don't know how to put this, nobody agrees with you.

How about moving on to a new topic?

Sorry, guess I could spend my time linking Youtube clips...but, that's kind of juvenile.  Maybe just join Youtube and enjoy all my Youtube friends.  Guess I'll go find a blog actually interested in public policy....

Hey wait, why don't the YouTube junkies go hang at Youtube??

Posted by: Poppy at September 01, 2007 04:45 AM (SObBE)

29 I'll not await your reply, ...... I understand it takes time to search Youtube for those snappy comebacks.  It'll take longer if you try to come up with an orginial thought.

30 Poppy , I'm sorry all your friends got busted in the bathrooms, at the parks and in the highway rest areas but seriously there are these things called hotels and get this ;no-one arrests you for screwing in them! Honest!

Poppy,

Don't feel bad that no one wants to debate you today.  You just spent everyone's patience yesterday with your advanced views on stall peeping.

There is a time for serious discussions of public policy and then there's time for THIS.

See?  No YouTube!!

"""there are these things called hotels and get this ;no-one arrests you for screwing in them!""

I wasn't concerned for myself, being an upstanding practicing heterosexual for more then 30 years. Like all of you I drove right past those lovers lanes, those drive-in movies, those bon fire parties, those drunken nights on the beach, those make-out sessions outside the bar, those fumbling feel-up session in a borrowed car and headed straight to a motel, got a room in the back, shut off the lights, closed the blinds, stuffed towels under the doors, and turned up the TV in case the slightest of moans disturbed the Nuns two towns away.

I mean, what heterosexual ever thought of enagaging in sexual behavior in public places, laughable I know. No, worse then laughable, absolutely ridiculous.

34 Poppy, I think a case can be made that being parked on a distant lovers lane, in the back seat of a car parked in the middle of nowhere, in the dunes of a known nude beach, or even in a stall in a peep show (I'm told such things happen - I wouldn't know personally) is vastly different from engaging in sex in a public bathroom in a friggin airport!

On a more important and newsworthy topic ....whi has seen Michelle Malkins blog today?

Interesting bit about Jerry Rivers, aka Geraldo Rivera - allegedly a collegue at Fox News - claiming if Michelle were in New York (his location) rather than DC (her location) he would "spit on her."

Now that's a real man talking there, isn't it?

Personally, I just emailed the station director at Fox and told him I would never again watch the station until Rivera was suspended or fired for threatening a collegue. Okay - an idle threat since I rarely watch Fox anyway, but I'm just sayin'.

You can write your thoughts on the subject c/o yourcomments@foxnews.com
