Gunny Hartman Is NOT A Fan Of Barack Obama

You can watch the whole intro but the fun starts about 1:40 in. Sadly, there's no cursing.

Thanks to just about everyone on Twitter where this is all over the place.

Oh noez!  He said "Socialism". The lefty no label types do not approve.

We can't use actual words to describe anything anymore.  And we must submit to lord obama and only use words that are happy, shiny and pre-selected by our betters.  We must ignore political history and slather it with left-wing frosting, gold stars, self-esteem training and historical amnesia.  Socialism, government rule, redistrubution, welfare and regulation  = you're crazy!

Posted by: dagny at December 29, 2010 05:47 PM (DS1Ec)

25 You have to remember that R. Lee Ermey is a decorated Korea vet (wounded) and despite his acting as a bad ass in every movie he was in, did in fact appear in some pinko anti-war movies, despite his character always being an accurate portrayal of period DI's. His conservative leanings have always been known. I was actually surprised to learn that he was never officially a gunnery sergeant and only promoted to that rank as an honorary thing later on.

37 I take second place to no one in my Obama hatred, but for some reason this bothered me.  I guess I believe in Jay Nordlinger's "safe zones": there are some spaces (and perhaps persons) that should be nonpolitical.  I just think of Gunny as representing the great American military tradition, which is, at its best (yeah, I'm giving you the hairy eyeball, Adm. Mike "Ghey Friendly" Mullen) nonpolitical.

I saw Ermy at a presentation two years ago in Georgia at a Veteran's Day commeration. He was actually quite gracious about Obama's recent election. He had a sort of "let's not judge too harshly too soon" attitude.

Then he went on to talk about numerous takes kissing Jack Black during the filming of Saving Silverman. It was all great, fair and very funny.

My point? After two years of Obama - he's not only unimpressed, but absolutely pissed off at initially biting his tongue and giving President Obama the benefit of the doubt.

@#37 Leo

I definitely see your point. But eventually a man who willingly volunteers to defend the country must begin to ask himself "is this what I'm fighting for?"

Had you told the WWII generation that a mere 23 years after defeating Hitler and Tojo their kids will be sliding naked through the shit filled mud of Woodstock, New York tripping acid, with hair below their shoulders while listening to a discordant Crosby, Stills and Nash while believing young American soldiers to be worse than any enemy we've ever faced...Those WWII folks would have looked at that future for their country and thought - fuck this!

100% right.

What is the forum? When Osama Obama and his fucking goons turn every moment into political hay for themselves, why shouldn't Ermey have the same damn right?

I'm so fucking tired of the Mohammedan Mouthpiece turning every occasion into a sales pitch for his America-hating, vengeful agenda -- not to mention his constant self-aggrandizement -- that I'm surprised patriotic Americans like Ermey have restrained themselves for so long.

Ermey. Is. A. Fucking. Marine. He has served his country, and serves it when he appears for Toys For Tots. The damn kids may still have a country thanks to him and others like him.

It's time this became a daily event. More people need to grow a pair and stand up to the Enemy Within.

All you jackwagons who are being namby-pamby about "time and place" need to grow a pair. Ermey senses the trouble we're in and rises to the country's defense. What do you do? You act like crybabies.

76 The left has and will forever continue to consider the conservative perspective as fascistic oppression. They will stomp our faces in the mud, and eviscerate the beating heart out of our bodies before they will think twice about proper etiquette.

There is no civility, collegiality or politeness about what they are doing.  We are in the battle of a lifetime against the forces of marxism, communism and all of the wickedness they have demonstrated over the past 150 years.  They are all about elevating man as god.  They are god, we are to be subjugated.  Get it?

No apologies are necessary for what happened here at this event.

Not being a Marine (damnit), I'll defer to those great men and women of the USMC and let them sound the war cry.

R. Lee's experience would no doubt tell him to assemble a strong team to help him win the battle. That's one of the things that makes a good President.

And I'd sure as hell like to see Reid or McConnell try to say "no" to him. It would be worth it just to see him make them drop and do 20.

98 BTW, next time you want to thrown in totally illogical points like comparing his speech to vote fraud, give it some more thought first.

-----------------

For the second time, THAT IS NOT WHAT I SAID. What part of my clarification for your benefit did you not understand? Read it again. It's #74, if that helps.

Let me be clearer for you - R. LEE ERMEY CRITICIZING OBAMA IN THIS VENUE IS NOT EQUIVALENT TO VOTE FRAUD.

Now, if you want to talk about real instances of illogical points, how about the one where I opine that it's not the time and place, and you twist that into "show me your papers"?

If you get your undies in a knot every time a liberal says something inappriopriate when they shouldn't, you must look like the freaking Gordian Knot.

But I kind of doubt that happens. I'd, in fact, bet you only get wadded up when "we" "step out" because you *expect* it of them.

In other words, you buy their double standard hook, line and sinker. Frankly, we really need less and not more of the type that thinks losing everything is better than making someone blush.

Either that or you just stir up shit because it's fun. But hey, in that case, I guess you do like making people blush, what with your bizarre equivocations and 2nd-tier chickenhawking (yelling about everyone's testicles like you can't think about anything else).

In either case, have fun with that.

103 why is the clip titled GEICO's R. Lee Ermey? Pretty sure that's not the proper title or qualifier for Ermey unless whoever posted the video wants to cost him an endorsement.

Notice the video is from NBC Chicago. The user who uploaded it is a hack, see link on front page of Palin "classless" attack on Moochelle and another link to Madcow.

104 Fuckin' A! It works for the Left, so fuck yeah, we should do it too! You know what else those socialist fucks are good at? Getting their political opponents thrown in jail. We gotta start doing that, too, cuz it works! And voter fraud! Too many of you pussies are squeamish about ballot-box stuffing. Fuck it, they do it, so should we! What the fuck good are principles, anyway? I wanna be as batshit-crazy, disgusting and corrupt as the Left! Fuck, fuck, fuck! Blow me, fucks! Posted by: schizuki at December 29, 2010 11:50 PM (M+lbD) There's no need to yell, dude. Read your comment above again. You are right you didn't equate voter fraud with speaking up in an uncomfortable time and place. But, you did use it to insinuate that any act by us that compares in some way to an act by the Left means we are saying we can do whatever the left does, no chains attached. Some folks here did say such a thing and they are wrong. Your argument is illogical because it comes from fear. Fear that anger leading to a loss in decorum then leads to a loss in all judgement. I did not twist what you said. I asked that to see how far your thinking went and I did it through hyperbole. BTW, I don't think you are a pussy. I do think you need to lighten up about time and place.

109 I agree with him, but not the venue he chose for it. Time and place, Gunny.

Posted by: schizuki at December 29, 2010 10:46 PM (M+lbD)

Just as jihadis have used their civilian populations (very much willingly and enthusiastically on the civilians' part) as integral parts of their attacks and tactics, thereby opening theiir civilians up to the normal retaliation of the war they are participating in, so the Western liberals have used every bit of our society to launch their attacks on us.  There is only a proper time and place when you are dealing with people who understand the concept of a proper time and place.  Libtards know no such rules or restraints in their pursuit of our enslavement and/or destruction.  It's because we have only looked for proper times and places that we find ourselves in this unbelievable mess.  The proper time, now, is always.  The proper place is everywhere, until the libtards are beaten back and locked away in their sandboxes (the ones who escape real jail for their crimes against our society and nation).

We need many more people saying these sorts of things in many more times and places that were considered 'improper'.  And they need to be saying 'improper' things, too.

At first I had the same feeling of "not the venue", but then I thought about it a bit, and realized that in true Jacksonian fashion, the venue may have been improper if the left had avoided it in the past, but since they have not, any venue is appropriate.

We'll play by civilized rules if our opponents do likewise, but if they abandon any pretense at honor, all bets are off, and anything goes. You liberal motherfuckers called the tune, don't whine when it comes time to pay the piper.

116 The libs in my church bring their ignorant, guilt-mongering political spew into choir practice all the time.  So, I no longer sing in the choir, and I'll never go back, either because it's always just a matter of time before they go at it again.  They have trouble getting enough people to sing in the choir.  Wonder why.  My lefty relatives were the same way; always bringing their stupid, thoughtless, right-off-the-tv-talking-points garbage into family gatherings while everybody else thought they needed to be polite and keep quiet.  According to liberal thinking, the time is ALWAYS right for lefty propaganda.  We conservatives need to learn to speak up much more often than we do.  We need to learn how to respond forcefully to being sneered at and talked over, too.  The left will do anything to cut off reasonable debate because all they have are lies which don't hold up well when exposed to daylight.  It's no accident the left all jumped in unison to cut Sarah Palin off at the knees before she could establish political traction, nationwide.

123 Having thought about this,  I come down on the side of Gunny.

I have spent my entire adult life being polite while my brother (union democrat) and sister (Hillary democrat) trash various conservatives,  beginning with Ronald Reagan,  at almost every family gathering.

Because I am not one who likes confrontation,  and because now that both my parents are gone,  I feel the need to keep the family together and avoid fights.

But you know what?  THEY don't.  It's like some weird liberal compulsion that stuff gets brought up at every family gathering.  I no longer will tolerate it,  and I firmly say "you are entitled to your opinion,  but I do not agree,  and we are not going to discuss politics here."   (Yes,  I know that isn't much of a stand,  but for me it is a big deal.)

Liberals are so convinced they are right that they have no hesitation in bringing this stuff up anywhere.  How many Oscar ceremonies have they ruined with politics,  attacking Bush or the war or whatever?  How many movies have they destroyed by sticking political stuff in a story?  Heck,  I even had a ROMANCE novel ruined by the author sticking anti-Bush crap in it!  They inject politics into sermons, PTA meetings, dance recitals (yes,  I have seen this), decorating magazines, golf magazines,  etc.  NOTHING is off bounds for them.

So I think it's about time that THEY get sandbagged at events and have to listen to a conservative message.   Any complaints should be addressed with examples of them doing something similar for the last 10 years.

Oh,  and when they try to get Geico to cancel his contraact,  we had better lean on that company to keep him.

He told the truth -- I don't see a problem with it. I had the great fortune of being in during Reagan but remembered the older folks telling Carter horror stories (and truly, from what I saw that jackwagon left the military in a terrible shape), had to watch my husband survive Clinton, and now have the fun and joy of watching my kids try to cope with this.  Modern dem prezzes seem to like to hang their military out watch them die.  My civility has been tapped dry.
