Gore Claims: I'm Carbon-Neutral!
— Ace

I'd like to see the documentation -- receipts and such -- for this:

He said he was "carbon neutral" himself and he tried to offset any plane flight or car journey by "purchasing verifiable reductions in CO2 elsewhere".

Note he says he "tried" to offset his journeys. He tried? How often was he successful? How hard did he try? How much money, precisely, has he expended to "offset" any carbon-production his jet-setting was responsible for?

I expect the media to ask him this posthaste.

1 I am guessing Al Gore didn't see The Empire Strikes Back otherwise he would have remembered what Yoda said, "No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try. " But apparently there is 'Take credit. Whether you did it or not".

Of course in Al Gore's world he probably thinks he wrote and stared in all the Star Wars movies but that's another story.

2 He could start by encasing himself in solid concrete so his emissions can't escape and pollute the atmosphere.

3 Just think, if he can be "cargon neutral" with all his private jet flying and his massive SUV entourage driving all the over the world well it can be simple for all of us - by several orders of magnitude. There is hope!!!!!!!!!!

4 He could prolly reduce the amount of CO2 in the environment, if he shut up, didn't fly at all, and just sat in a sunny area, converting CO2 into oxygen like the rest of his species.

5 Typical liberal. There is a problem which could bring about the world as we know it. I will continue to be part of the problem, indeed one of the largest contributors to the problem. But fear not. I will "purchase" reductions.

This translates into I will nag the hell out of other people and get them to do what I won't. Afterall, earthtones Al is one of the special people.

6 Why dont gore keep his big piehole shut that would do a lot to cut down on all the HOT AIR then more rediclous reggulations and the junk science inspired kyoto treaty

8 If you're interested in how to go about doing what Gore tries to do:

Funnily enough, Gore gets a tax credit for this activity.

9 Bump: Thanks for the link. What a great scam! It's like buying the greenie-weenie version of a plenary indulgence: no matter how much you consume, just give us money and we'll bless it for you.

Proving, yet again, that a sucker is born each and every minute.

10 This is another illustration of the ways in which environmentalism is more like religion than science. Gore's purchasing of "carbon offsets" is akin to a 15th-century Catholic's purchasing indulgences.

11 Last time I checked we are all carbon-based lifeforms. So is wood, so that includes Algore!

Not sure, but "carbon-neutral" could be a PC term for death?

12 Al Gore is lying about being carbon neutral. If he was really carbon neutral, we would be hearing about it thrice a day from MSM a long time before his 500yard motorcade journey was exposed.

13 (and others like it) are just paper shuffle scams to efficiently seperate moonbats from their cash.

Algore would be better off spending his money to plant some trees or buy a few acres of Amazon rain forest so it won't be clearcut.
