A glitch, as it turns out.

Viewing this site will only harm your spelling and harm your Obamabuzz.

1 Man; way to screw the pooch Google.

2 It may also be shocking to those with taste and dignity.

Ace, there is a new post at Discriminations that links a job ad from Purdue U.  It is real and really funny.  I hope you can drop by there and check it out.  It might make for some good commentary.

4 Here's where I insert my usual: if you're conservative and you're using Google you're part of the problem blahblahblah.

6 Google's corporate motto apparently is "Don't Be Evil"

Evil = Republicans, Conservatives, Americans in red states, corporations not dealing with search engines or entertainment

Google was an underdog company 10 years ago as an alternative to Yahoo. Time for a new underdog

7 Forget Google. Ixquick Metasearch

worlds most private search engine

8 I, for one, welcome our new Google overlords.

9 I would love to express my true feelings about Google, but 20,000 employees is a number and noun that makes me more than a little hesitant.

10 Stupid Google humans.

I despise Google, and I think their "Don't be evil" corporate motto is nothing but an uber creepy Orwellian joke. They help Ahmadenijad in Iran and the Chinese and North Korean Communists surpress free speech and historical records (news archives, etc.) and they help governments spy on and control their citizens. They are conduct data mining in the US and are trying to find ways to get even more information and control over people here (e.g., their attempt to conglomerate all medical records on their servers). They filter new feeds and search results based on political bias.

They freak me out. They make paranoid people seem sane, or at least justified.

Fight the power!

12 There are lots of options: Yahoo, MS Live Search or MSN, Surfwax, Dogpile, Alta Vista, Lycos, Copernic (find.copernic.com is a meta engine, or you can use the software Copernic Agent and search multiple engines at once and save the searches and results). So many options! So few of them evil.

Google sux ass. When we take over in 2010, it'll be time for a nice anal-probe style audit.

GI Joe: The Rise of COBRA trailer Hopefully good cheesy fun.

Yeah, but will this site harm my math skillz, 'cause that's really why I'm here. And because it's a smart military blog.

16 Can you expond on this taste and dignity of which you speak.

Not from personal experience, no.

17 Viewing this site keeps me fantasizing that at least 25% of our population thinks like MORONS do!  That would be about 80 million - all marching on Washington.

sickinmass, I'm intrigued by Ixquick. I'll give 'er a test run.

I do feel like a dirty whore when I use Google.

19 Yeah, saw that today when I was searching for info on a local gun show. My first thought was those google asshats listing every gun related site with this warning. haha Not that I would put it past them to eventually do that with Obambi's blessing :/

Posted by: Mark at January 31, 2009 03:07 PM (Oryfd)

20 Yeah, I, too, had a paranoid moment, until a test search showed that Blowbama's sites were popping up with the same warning.

23 Dude quit the sour grapes. As far as search engines go, there is none better. Just because the competition sucks doesn't make it not true.

Now I wish there were real competitors in this field, but there isn't. I hope Google is a benevolent Master for us when they take over...
