FoxNews/Opinion Dynamics' Final Generic Congressional: 50 - 37
— Ace

And Obama falls to a new low on a Fox poll (I think), at 41/50.

Good poll.

We'll see about those four scenarios. If the country really is in this much of a mood to punish Obama and the Democrats, then we really might be looking at possible victories for McMahon, O'Donnell, DioGuardi, Fiorina, and, hell, even Len Britton in Vermont (challenging the vile weasel Pat Leahy).

Thanks to JE.

Before Pelosi and Reid took the reins in Congress, the US unemployment rate was 4.5 percent and the Federal deficit was $250 billion. Now the unemployment rate is 9.6 percent and the budget deficit is $1.25 trillion.

The American people were angry with the Republican-led Congress for letting the deficit hit $250 billion. They are now enraged and livid that the Democrat-led Congress and Democrat President have quintupled the deficit while watching unemployment more than double.

Really, any race in which the Democrat isn't rock-solid safe could go Republican this year.

67 I live in CA, and I''ll vote for Whitman.

#37 Minuteman might be correct about CA being past the event horizon, but I'm not certain.

Cutting off unions of state employees, forcing all state employees to cut their pension benefits to 50% of pay after 30 years (and forcing the "base pay" number down, to avoid more City of Bell results) might fix a lot of the problems.

A lot of retirees will be livid, but the choice boils down to a readjustment, or nothing, as the rest of the country isn't likely to bail out CA given our pension mess.

Whitman might be able to deal with the unions. Brown will work with them.

However, there is considerable merit to having Brown in charge if CA really does go under. Brown will likely piss off the rest of the country, making a bail-out even more painful than anything that would happen with Whitman in charge.

Oh, I believe that. You've always come across as someone who's simply fixated on bursting the "wave election" bubble as opposed to desiring a Democrat win.

But the mystery is why you simply can't look at the numbers and the mood around you and accept that the country is really as sick and tired of the Democrats as it looks. You behave as if a wave election propelling the GOP to control of both houses of Congress would be a bad thing.

103 If this poll is accurate - a 13-point split in favor of the GOP is literally unheard of in the history of such polling, no? - all three of those states and 80+ in the house doesn't even define the baseline of the massacre that could be.

Posted by: Rajiv Vindaloo at October 29, 2010 08:59 PM (BZ2Bm)

Actually, it depends.

One of the reasons Republicans historically do better then a straight read of the generic ballot is that Democrats have districts that routinely vote 80%+ Democrat. Essentially having more then 51% in a district doesn't matter.

If Republican gains on the generic ballot are in fact mostly converting 60% Republican areas to 80% it won't help nearly as much as if their appeal was more evenly disturbed.

I don't think that is the case - heck 4or 5 seats in MA are in play - but it is possible to get +13 on the Generic and win big, but not amazingly...

118 Looks like that Alaskan write-in registration rush today started on a conservative radio show in Alaska....and now the host has been taken off the air:

Dan Fagan, the conservative talk show host who lately spends much of his three-hour radio show slamming U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski and extolling the virtues of Republican Joe Miller, has been yanked off the air.

About halfway through Fagan's show Thursday afternoon a caller phoned in to say he had just registered as a write-in candidate in the Senate race, which includes Miller, Murkowski, and Democrat Scott McAdams. The caller's provocation -- and the reason Fagan liked the idea -- was the Division of Elections' decision to provide voters who ask with a list of the write-in candidates. The Alaska Supreme Court is currently looking at the legality of that decision. Flooding that list with 150 names ranging from Michael Ames to Kathy Jo Zurek, Fagan figured, would mean fewer votes for Murkowski.

171 Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't think 50-37 translates to a 13 point advantage on Tuesday. The remaining 13 are going to do something. If they split 50/50 then you get a 13 point advantage. If they stay home or break proportionally to those already decided, we're looking at 13/87 in % (which is something bigger than 13%, roughly 14.5%). If they break disproportionately for Republicans, look out.

And that doesn't even get into the question of Fox's turnout model.

I like these generic numbers as much as anybody, but remember, we have to win each race by enough to beat the voter fraud spread. I hope there are a lot of people out watching the vote in Las Vegas, Chicago and the other union/Dem strongholds as well as where the really close races are (esp. for Senate).

I think my favorite song Tue will be "Another One Bites the Dust."

199 Haven't seen it mentioned on this blog but the last Gallup generic poll (a day or two ago) had the Repubs up Fifteen points. Hard to see how the damage can be limited to a mere 60 seats or there abouts. But I did read today that most of that margin is in about half the country. So it's a super-wave in that area and just a meh-wave in the rest.

And we keep feeding him by the shovel-full. It's inevitable. There must be a formula to describe this as a function of the size of a blog, the greater the chance a troll will become the subject of the thread.

Which is why I'm all for more action by the management when it comes to copy-pasta trolls.

Let me put you some fuckin knowledge. If we pick up 8 seats in the senate and win our own elections we will have won 67% of the seats available to win.

If we win over 55 seats in the house that will be the most seats won since 1934.

First you choose which kind of power data recovery you want to proceed. Then select the hard drive from which data is lost.It supports media recovery. There are three conditions in which recovered file will not work: 1) File is fragmented. 2) File size is greater than your estimated file size. 3) File content is partially corrupted / overwritten.
You can recover my files from the hard drive.
