Fox News: Trump Will Announce End to DACA on Friday; White House Says No "Final Decision" Reached Yet
— Ace

What does it matter? A federal judge will claim the president doesn't have the power to use executive action to reverse a policy put into place by the last president using an executive action.

Reportedly, the idea is to cancel any further DACA renewals while allowing those who have their DACA papers in order to remain in the country until they need to renew again -- which would be in no longer than 2 years, as the renewals are for 2 years at a time.

I think a commenter here said something along the lines of: Reversing DACA will force Democrats (and SubRight "Republicans") to come to terms on a border wall, border enforcement, and sanctuary city enforcement. We might even get Chuck Schumer to squirt a few lemon-drop tears as he explains why he's compelled to vote for this nightmare to avert an even worse one.

Sounds like a good plan, so I'm sure they won't be doing that.

However, keeping up appearances (and I fear this is only for appearances), Trump has selected four firms to build wall prototypes to select from for the wall that I don't think will ever be built.

The four contracts range in price from about $400,000 to about $500,000, CBP said. The prototypes will be 30 feet(9 meters) tall and about 30 feet wide and will be tested in San Diego, it said.

Because I'm in a foul mood and my posts are probably putting you in a similar mood, here's an adorable puppy learning how to swim in the air.

4 Fox News: Trump Will Announce End to DACA on Friday; White House Says No "Final Decision" Reached Yet It should ahve been done the first day. There was absolutely no reason to put this off. It was un-Constitutional and criminal, to begin with.

Disagree. I think Trump will go to war for his wall. Meaning, he will veto any budget that doesn't have the funding. To defeat Trump, the uniparty needs 2/3rds of both senate and house. They may have it in the senate, but I don't think they have the numbers in the house. Rather than let the government "shut down" for any significant amount of time, they will cave.

32 I contend that Trump and Obama made some kind of deal on DACA at their first meeting at the White House which took over 2 hours which was suppose to be 20 minutes. TFG convinced Trump to keep DACA in return for something...who knows what (maybe border wall funding). Trump probably didn't feel Obama and/or the Dem's kept their side of the bargain and said screw it. I predict your going to hear a lot more from Obama now.

We have all our utilities, the dogs are back out in the kennel and the water is receding at Schloss Hadrian. Neither the house nor the kennel was flooded (a good selling point for the future). This was the first day the driveway cleared enough for us to get out. We loaded some wire crates, stainless-steel dog buckets, bowls, leashes and collars and drove down to the Brazoria County Fairgrounds in Angleton, which is being used as a rescue center. Her Majesty, who is always imperturbable in the worst crisis, was teary over the site (Irish blood showing). We drove up to Costco in Pearland and bought dog and cat food, paper towels, trash bags of various sizes, disinfectant, water and paper towels. A good day's work. It's bad out there. People and pets are suffering. We were lucky.

109 Grump, you're on a roll! Actually, I'd hope the barrier system will be a lot more than just a fence. Two fences minimum, substantial vehicle barrier (tank ditches), smooth "no man's land" with parallel road for detecting surface movement, etc. Not complicated. But also, this will be a tangible expression of will, and an inertial factor for the future. So I hope its features are, to the extent practical, both minimally dependent on active policing and very expensive to remove/reverse.

A few months before his last reelection, at the peak of Tea Partyism, Perry mustered all sorts of resources and rhetoric to address illegal alien angst among citizens. And about one month after the election, those plans were rescinded, the personnel redistributed back into normal rotation well away from the border never to be heard from again. Big Money flows through the coastal elite, and they demand their foreign slave labor, to nurse their kids, maintain lawns, run their drugs, wait their tables.  They get wealth by funny money stock/bond market manipulation ... leveraged BS that lets them sell off America to Chinese and others.  It is all well planned ... real America must wake up ... but the elite mafia are busy inside the FBI ...
