10 It looks like there is effectively no more commenting at HotGas. I know they went to a facebook format and I did see some comments when they first made the switch but now nothing. It does seem as though many news sites are shutting down their comment systems rather than deal with alternative points of view.

11 The Los Angeles Times has a story about what a Trump President would look like, but all I get is a blank page when I go there. I sure would like to know what the LATimes thinks Trump would do as President because I have no idea.

Do your civic duty- advocate and vote for people you hope will represent you well... 4.) Isolate yourself and family from SJWs as much as possible...because SJWs will suck the life out of you. 5. ) Stock up on even more useful stuff...cause the debt ain't ever gonna be paid off and bad things will happen at some point in our future... Cruz beats Trump head to head in every poll that has measured that metric. And a brokered convention hands the prize to Rubio. It also assures that Stalin or Trotsky wins the White House. I'd say it is the final nail in the coffin of the GOP but that's the least of the thing as the republic as founded sinks beneath the waves.

64 I can't really blame South Carolinians for Goober. The open primary system essentially means you have 2 general elections and most people vote for "not the Democrat" and he has the bucks and influence to fit that bill more than most. If you had only one of the challengers in that last primary, Goober would have had his ass handed to him, with McStain's dick in it and all.

69 That Russian idea of using a nuke on an Asteroid is not new, and there are other experts who disagree. First a rocket won't blow the asteroid 'backwards'. And I'm not sure it would vaporize the thing, and if it did vaporize the thing there wouldn't be any radioactive particles to impact the earth. Altering the orbit of the rock as it moves away would change the orbit in an unpredictable way and might actually cause an impact the next time it comes around again. And there is no nuclear blast in vacuum, because it is the super heated atmosphere that expands and causes the blast wave on earth. There is a lot of dumb in that article, and I know dumb when I read it.

77 " After Trumps libel law idiocy from yesterday, I'm off team Trump" kreplach

I read the HotAir on that ... and like Cruz does constantly, the extrapolate a whole story out of "open up libel laws", and say "what he probably really means" is sue people even if they tell the truth.

I think he knows all about libel laws, and so it makes it vague.  Making it easier to sue ... not sure how he could really do it.  He could try to persuade Congress maybe, to write additional law, that if constitutional, would make it harder on some of the leftist propaganda outlets.  But HA and whoever take that one little comment, and suddenly they have their proof Trump is a fascist.

"What he probably meant by opening up libel laws is that he wants to lower the standards for public figures so that he can sue newspapers whenever they get a fact about him wrong, even if it's a good-faith mistake and they really did try to get it right. Or maybe he wants to go further than that and be able to sue whenever they publish a fact that really damages him, whether it's true or not."

See, their whole premise is based on "what he probably means", then they go on with their wild eyed conjecture.

No, what he probably means is he (like all of us complain of constantly) is tired of the media completely distorting or even lying directly about anything that challenges the leftist agenda.  Whatever else Trump is, he is certainly a challenge to the globalists.  They'd like their gal Hillary or Marco will do.  But Trump's investment kingdom is real estate, mostly American I think.  If America weakens so does his kingdom.

78 71 Posted by: Laurie David's Cervix at February 28, 2016 07:00 AM (kdS6q) Just out of curiosity, why are you so seemingly enamored of Mr. Trump? Beyond the seeming enstompening of the GOP and MFM, what areas of policy do you think he will actually make a difference in "making America great again?" More to the point, what of his past problematic positions and statements, including recent ones, and predicaments are you most concerned about? Or are you? Again, not picking a fight but I am curious.

87 Russian rockets are doing pretty good business, if ya' check. They are taking everyone to the ISS, and doing 90% of the straight up supply missions. And if we can simulate the trajectories of particles in an accelerator, then we could certainly know where to offer a nudge of a given force to a stinking rock that is already heading out of our neighborhood, dontcha think. Yes. It's perhaps not something we want a Russian to do, necessarily, but the idea of hitting the ball while it is going away from us is not too shabby.

Over at The Hill, they're got a Super Tuesday preview:

The long-time GOP front-runner leads in the latest polls in eight of the 11 states that will vote on March 1, and he's the only candidate who is competitive across-the-board.

http://tinyurl.com/gljbkeg

In some of those Trump is leading by blowout margins. The exceptions include TX, where Cruz is holding on a lead, and a couple of states that haven't been polled in a month, which are question marks.

Based on some of the pronouncements that Trump makes he needs a level headed individual, with rock solid knowledge of the law and constitution, to say to him, 'Donald, you just can't do that. You *can* do it this way, though. ' It's like a marriage where partners have different strengths and weaknesses. Where one is strong, the other is weak. So together they are strong. Walt Disney Co unveiled new single-day ticket prices on Saturday for the company's U.S. theme parks, switching to a three-tiered system that charges visitors more on the year's busiest days and less during typically slower periods.

Starting Sunday, a one-day ticket to Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom will cost $105 on "value" days during slower periods, such as September. The cost for "regular" days will be $110. For "peak" days over major holiday periods, spring break and parts of the summer, the price will be $124.

At Disneyland, the cost of admission to one park will be $95, $105 and $119 for value, regular and peak days, respectively. Value days will be most weekdays during the school year, while peak times are around holidays and weekends in July and December.

How much of that turnout is BECAUSE of Trump?  You really think Cruz would have taken out Jeb and his $120M in attack ads?  No way.  The massive crowds and enthusiasm belong to Trump, while conservative bloggers had hopes for Perry, Cruz, Walker.

At some point one has to read the waves and pick the one to ride.  Conservative blogger world could still contribute and even participate in the Trump campaign, and make deals with him on what we want for our support.  But instead the choice is being made by many to go hyperbolic with the hate and fabrication.  But I guess as long as Ted has hopes, they want to ride that wave for now.  I decided Trump could take "them" on better, AND could win.  But whatever ... we'll see if conservatives really want to sabotage Trump if he becomes the candidate.

I have seen nothing, nothing at all, to change my mind about this. From the get go the buzz has all been Trump or Cruz. They have dominated the Media Cycles. If Trump is not the buzz, then Cruz is. What I think they agreed to? If Trump wins the nom, Ted will serve as VP and be next in line. If Cruz wins the nom, Trump will throw his financial support behind Cruz. I don't think Trump would be a Second Banana. But throwing money at a winner. Total Trump.

136 Skip@64: The off-duty cops used their badges to bully their way into a private club. (They were not members.) Bar staffs knuckle under, but generally hate cops in the house. Cops were drunk and annoying to McCoy and his party. Finally, ejected by force and responding cops took drunk cops' side. This is the third such incident in two years involving cops. I'm inclined to believe McCoy. I've never seen Seth Williams dodge a tough call. He gets mad cred for the Gosnell case.
