Do You Know Why I Know that Sarah Palin was the Perfect Pick for VP?
— Russ from Winterset

Lindsey Graham disagreed with putting her on the ticket. I was just watching Bob Schieffer with CBS News reporting live from St. Paul, and he did a piece with David Brooks from the NYT where they listed all the negatives about the Palin selection.

They actually referenced Lindsey Graham's displeasure as a negative? Hello? Are these guys fucking paying attention anymore? Jeebus, citing Lindsey Graham as a barometer of what the Conservative Base of the Republican Party thinks is sort of like citing Saddam Hussein as an expert in land warfare tactics.

"Hey Senator McCain. There's someone on line 2 who claims that he's the French Minister of Defense, and he's using a *makes quotation signs in the air with his fingers* time machine to call you from 1939. He thinks that Sarah Palin is the worst choice you could have made, but I'm not sure who he thinks you should have picked. He keeps mumbling something about some Maginot dude. Didn't we vet him back in April?"

1   In a better world Lindsey Graham would have been a street walking tranny man whore and not a senator of this great country.

oh thank god. Graham was on the Hewitt show Friday singing Palin's praises, that was the only thing that worried me about her! Has anyone ever asked her about immigration, btw? You know how twisted those nunavuk coyotes can get.

p.s. hey guys, please join my facebook group:

it takes up the liberal theme of how Sarah Palin is no Hillary Clinton. When she shoots a caribou, she doesn't make it look like a suicide, and her fake southern accent ain't worth a damn.

Posted by: Adrian at August 31, 2008 06:52 AM (Eu/Um)

3 You can say that about most senators.

4 just what you'd expect from a cuntry club republican.

5 On a related subject, if Kos wants to continue slandering Sarah and their kids with this baby nonsense, he had better start worrying about where Todd Palin is at and whether any rifles are missing from his gun rack.

At times like this, I think we need to bring back the code duello.

6 Lindsey Graham disagreed with putting her on the ticket.  Of course he did, his pick (as was mine) was his good friend the governor of SC, Mark Sanford.

Now if we could only hear that Lincoln Chafee hates her.

One thing does scare me, McCain thinks she's a good pick for VP.

8 >On a related subject, if Kos wants to continue slandering Sarah and their kids with this baby nonsense ...

This might put the baby slander to rest.  The text clearly notes that Sarah was observed pregnant by the writer.

10 Do You Know Why I Know that Sarah Palin was the Perfect Pick for VP?You mean, other than the fact that the Kos-tards collectively have been throwing a meth-added hissy fit the entire weekend?

11 "On a related subject, if Kos wants to continue slandering Sarah and their kids with this baby nonsense, he had better start worrying about where Todd Palin is at and whether any rifles are missing from his gun rack." Along the same lines, it might be wise to cool the VPILF talk. Once is a compliment. Twice, it starts to get old. More, a nuisance. And Todd Palin doesn't strike me as the type to put up with nuisances very long. A whole website; well, that's more like an obsession....

13 Lindsey. I dated a girl with that name. Cuckoo abstraction warning: Like moths to a flame, keep trying to flip those diamonds upside down, you prick. I will enjoy watching you squirm in the crucible of your own creation.

14 To settle the Palin baby allegations once and for all, I propose the following civilized solution:

Release Todd Palin and twenty Kos Kids into the Alaskan wilderness. Each of the Kos Kids gets an M-16 with unlimited ammunition. Todd Palin gets a .22 with exactly twenty rounds of ammunition.

If Sarah is selected to go instead of Todd, she doesn't get a rifle, wouldn't be sporting. She gets a Rambo knife.

15 JavaJoe, I'm not even going to ask how you stumbled onto that article....

When they picked Biden, we just gigled like schoolgirls.  We picked Palin, they went nuts.

I think the better pick is obvious.

Now, as I have said before, if we can get those guys at NRO to STFU.

Posted by: blaster at August 31, 2008 07:17 AM (KpEAZ)

19 This might put the baby slander to rest.

I doubt it.  They got their story and they're sticking to it.

Posted by: Purple Avenger at August 31, 2008 07:20 AM (6L459)

20 Let the NRO beltway elites blather all they want.  For the most part (obvious exceptions like VDH and Sowell) they're part of the problem, not part of the solution.  The average person couldn't care less about what they have to say, as they don't read that crapola.  Let them have their little beltway insider circle-jerk.

Posted by: Hermit Dave at August 31, 2008 07:21 AM (WhFvm)

21 if we can get those guys at NRO to STFU

Fuck'em, they're rendering themselves obsolete.

Posted by: Purple Avenger at August 31, 2008 07:23 AM (6L459)

22 Lindsey Graham is a disgrace to his reiver ancestors.  Toughen up Lindsey.  Go hunt moose with Sarah.  If a crazed Arctic ground squirrel makes you go Jimmah-Carter-with-a-bunny-rabbit, she'll protect your pansy ass.

Posted by: Reiver at August 31, 2008 07:23 AM (s7h/P)

23 Heh - when I see Senators like Lindsey freaking out, it reminds me that, as Governor of Alaska, she wouldn't tolerate graft, corruption, or dumbassery among state employees.

As President of the Senate, would she let their bullshit go unchecked? Especially when she can just pick up the phone to the FBI...no wonder they are sweating bullets.

25 Watching the Chris Matthews Show on NBC this morning (don't ask) I see one of the panelists reporting that it was Lindsey Graham who pushed hardest ("hard, hard, hard") for McCain to put Fightin' Joe on the ticket as V-P.  Eesh, Lindsey, I try to defend you here on AoS and then you go and do stupid shit like that.  Hey, I like Lieberman too...I just recognize what an absolute disaster he would be on the ticket.

26

Man oh man, before I was looking forward to the VP debates, now, I'm actually giddy just thinking about them.

Biden is a moron who thinks he's a genius and eveyone around him is stupid so he says the most idiotic things. I have a feeling Palin will be able to highlight what a maroon he is without looking like a vicious attack dog. Heck, she'll probably just let him hang himself with his ignorance and stupidity.

Now that everybody is talking about Biden as all experienced and Palin as a neo-phyte, her allowing him to make a fool of himself is going to be even funnier. Watching the NYTimesWashPostCNNABCCBSNBCetc. try to pretend that Biden isn't an idiot after each debate? That's gonna be even funnier.

And the day after each Pres and VP debate where Obama!'s and Biden's spokestools have to keep clarifying what their candidates say? Comedy gold.

Just when you think this election can't get any funnier, somebody hits somebody with a pie in the face.

They are making themselves obsolete, but its too bad.  There is a lot of intellectual capital and history there.  Rather have them onboard instead of being the worst caricatures of conservatives.

Rick Brookhiser's blurb was vile.

Posted by: blaster at August 31, 2008 07:29 AM (KpEAZ)

29 When country club "republicans" and moonbats are both freaking out, you either have the right person, or Pat Buchanan.  Sarah don't look much like Buchanan, so its must be the right idea.

Colmes is also trying to push some meme that maybe the Palins "had to get married" -

http://www.alan.com/2008/08/29/conservative-family-values/

Like he's convinced that would drive off conservative voters. What a tool - he really does believe that conservatives are the caricature that he makes us out to be.

37 McCain struck gold in Alaska. She is a western Governor of the last great frontier.
She craps bigger than Biden.

Posted by: Stormy70 at August 31, 2008 07:39 AM (Y+o71)

38 Lieberman is an honorable man. I am not one of those "Conservatives" who believes that if only their party could have absolute power, everything would be glory. The other parry does have some valid points. Most importantly, the only reason politicians care about logic is because the other party is always calling them on their nonsense. So again, Lieberman is alright. But he's from the opposition.

Posted by: LiveFreeOrDie at August 31, 2008 07:41 AM (4HuGv)

39 Yes, Lieberman is a good man.  His politics, however, should keep miles away from any kind of consideration for VP of a conservative party ticket.  He's the kind of honest opposition one can negotiate with and it's a sad statement on the Dems that he's not well regarded in the Democrat party.

Posted by: Hermit Dave at August 31, 2008 07:45 AM (WhFvm)

#35 Yeah, Jim62sch, I just went to News Busters after posting here and they're carrying the Colmes' "eloping due to bastard" story too. Pretty sick, eh? Oh, and stupid, too, as it shows her even-more walking the pro-life walk walk by not aborting herself out of a marriage.

Posted by: andycanuck at August 31, 2008 07:51 AM (qKkaY)

43 This baby meme is eerily familiar.

My wife and I had four kids between our mid-20s and mid-30s. We thought we were done; then one day, my wife calls me up at work and asks, "Are you sitting down?" That's when we were both 45.

Well, the first thing my wife did was send our 18-year-old daughter out to visit her grandmother. Because she knew that the first thing Grandma, that evil-tongued b****, would think was that our daughter was the one "knocked up". That's the kind of woman she is.

Isn't it funny, the way those people who proclaim themselves to be open-minded and tolerant, immediately become finger-wagging, scandal-mongering assholes when confronted with someone like Palin, who refuses to conform to their notions of what is right and proper.

By the way, our son was born perfectly healthy, and is the brightest, nicest young man you could ever hope to meet.

44 With every hour that passes the Palin pick is being seen to be the best possible choice. The left is , if such a thing were possible ,  becoming even more insane .

Personally, I think it's time for the classic, " I haven't been this unhappy since my last blow job."

46 Palin had done more for the common man while in office than Obama and Biden combined. They don't know how to counter because she doesn't fit the playbook. Right now their content to sit back and let the media elites, political pundits and politicans have at her. Watching their spin has me LMAO! They leave themselves so wide open in their hurry to nail Palin to the wall.

49 Congratulations , Brown Line.

My wife and I were in a similar situation. We were childless and middle aged. We never used contraception and after almost 20 yrs of marriage assumed that for reasons of biology we'd never have children. We're both working class and could never afford fertility treatments .Then , in my wife's 39'th year and my 44 th my wife got pregnant.  To say we were surprised would be something of an understatement.

Over the course of the next nine months we went through all the testing and genetic counseling bullshit that is guaranteed to scare the shit out of couples. As luck would have it my wife delivered a healthy baby boy. He's 8 now .  While he is very bright and can be sweet, there's this streak of wild ass southern boy that can be " challenging". I wouldn't have it any other way.

My little family is more of a blessing than I deserve.

 McCain , Palin 08.
Lindsey Graham is a jerk.

Wow- Sarah and Todd HAD to get married!

Gosh, that might, if it were true, limit the victories in the South (where I'm sure these tools think it will hurt) to only 15 points instead of 17.

Keep it up guys, you personal attacks only make this sweeter!
