10 Beautiful anthem pre-Dallas v Philly game. Beautiful. Have guests coming for dessert tonight -- but not for a long long time. NFL.

11 And Happy Thanksgiving Horde!!! Ugh. Completely stuffed. Between the food and the drinks, I can barely keep my eyes open.

12 Lovely T-Giving with both sides of the family, lots of great food thanks to me and the wife, good-natured political disagreements between intelligent people of good will.  All in all, about as good as it gets.

Now it's time for them all to go the hell home.  Why won't they leave?

16 13 BC Same to you. How's everything? Posted by: Chavez the Hugo at November 27, 2014 04:33 PM (ucDmr) Pretty damn good. Only hiccup to today is that my grandma, dad's mom, basically didn't feel like showing up. So that riled a few folks, namely my mom and dad, but all in all it was a fine day. Tons of great food, drinks in hand, football on tv. Doesn't get much better. How bout you and yours? Doing good I hope?

37 Part of a stillborn middle class, Charlie Brown wanders about a landscape scorched by generations prior who obscured their narcissism and materialism amid peasantry's bold colors. The flip-flop clad foot of Peppermint signals to those in the know of her solidarity with Mao's brutality, an example also seen with John Kerry's beater Volvo. Or she just likes to engage in some foot play with Marcy's vulva under the table.

61 59 - diced not crushed pineapple, extra grapes, normal mandarin oranges, plain yogurt rather than sour cream or whipped cream. Easy on the mini marshmallows or even skip sometimes. No crushed nuts added but plenty of coconut flakes.

71 Back from dinner at youngest sister's place. Me, Mr. Empire, both sisters, youngest's husband, and husband's Nepalese grad student. Got started late, but good food and good company, plus the first time all three of us sisters had been together for a holiday since I left home to join the Marines.

72 Hi Shredded Chi, Happy Thanksgiving! I was going to make cthulhu's roasted tomatoes, with my alterationd & additions but changed my mind. I was supposed to go out to a friends for dinner but had neck injection Monday & it's still worse. I went out yesterday & bought tenderloin steaks for me & my older brother instead. I washed tomatoes & when I bent to get pan decided 12-14 oz steak was enough. My best friend is bringing me white meat, mashed potatoes & peas home. That's what I loved best about Thanksgiving.

Posted by: Carol at November 27, 2014 01:44 PM (sj3Ax)

73 Empire1, Thank you for serving. Are you home for good or on leave?

Posted by: Carol at November 27, 2014 01:48 PM (sj3Ax)

74 Shredded Chi, Is neighbor Shirley? Say hello for me if it is.

Posted by: Carol at November 27, 2014 01:49 PM (sj3Ax)

75 Our turkey was absolutely perfect. The allrecipes.com citrus brine is a winner. stuff with onions, carrots, celery, and onion for more flavor and cook it Alton Brown style (500 for 30 mins, 325 until done - foil over the breasts) makes for a juicy, tender bird.

Posted by: Buck Farky at November 27, 2014 01:50 PM (0wiDy)

76 Sorry to hear about your neck, Carol. (Still???) Mom's stuffing with pan-drippings gravy is my favorite part of T Day. That & the crispy skin. Best part of today's meal? My sister didn't come over, so I didn't have to share the skin with her! I missed seeing her & the kids though.

Posted by: shredded chi at November 27, 2014 01:52 PM (QoLTq)

77 Shredded Chi, Neck is worse from injection for shoulder. I should be better by Saturday. It's always going to hurt. It's worse from meds injected for shoulder. Why didn't your sister go? We've misunderstood each other, me & neck pain dr. I told him Monday injections in June did zilch for neck & he replied he got nerve in right arm. I'm going back on the 9th to clear up & have him do to neck what he did four years ago. That series helped neck pain.

81 Carol, Hope your next visit helps with your pain. I think she didn't come over just because she's busy with her kids & tired of running around all day to her in-laws, Mom's, friends and such. I'll tell Shirley you said Hi when I see her. Invited her to The Mom's, but she already had plans with friends. I'll see her tomorrow - I made a Santa sleigh & reindeer cutouts for her front lawn (actually, borzoi instead of reindeer). Have to put them up still.

82 The only thing worse than overeating. is overeating a bunch of rich food including chocolate, crab cakes, bacon, sausage, eggs, 2 kinds of potatoes, succotash  (no room for turkey)... egad - Thank fully I am old and I will remember the meal for days

Posted by: Baldy at November 27, 2014 02:17 PM (+35FH)

83 Hi Chi, I must skip something needed to get the skin yummy, the dogs usually get it here. Glad you enjoyed your favorites at your moms and that I do not have a round two today although maybe if I'd had one planned I would have been more careful not to eat too much.

Posted by: PaleRider at November 27, 2014 02:17 PM (7w/kf)

84 Meanwhile. back at the ranch...We made it back home after a nice day with the in laws. I have talked Mr. H into taking me to the Mall of Georgia tomorrow. It ought to be fun, hanging out with 3 million stampeding shoppers. I have a coupon for JCP and I intend to use it.

Posted by: ALH at November 27, 2014 02:18 PM (btTLZ)

85 Carol -- Sorry if I gave a wrong impression -- I served long ago, in the early sixties (I think I'm a President older than Vic, even!). So it's been probably 50+ years since the three of us have had a holiday together. And both my sisters were military, too -- middle one in the Navy, youngest an Army MP.

Posted by: Empire1 at November 27, 2014 02:19 PM (Ly9vt)

86 Hi Hordelings! Just got back from my friends' house. They put on a magnificent spread and the conversation was lively, fun, and politics-free. I could not have asked for a better holiday. I wasn't even that disappointed that I couldn't bust out one of those great "I'm thankful for" suggestions, i.e., "the inevitable conservative supreme court appointments by President Perry", etc.

Posted by: All Hail Eris at November 27, 2014 02:20 PM (QBm1P)

87 Wonder how long this can go on? Posted by: Erowmero ------------------ Do you mean the America part? Or the sweet potato pie? After I have a few smoked ham sammies I have pumpkin pie with whipped cream left. And a couple Beam & gingers, of course. Then I'll probably hibernate for a couple days.

Posted by: shredded chi at November 27, 2014 02:21 PM (HFaa7)

93 PaleRider, Why would you say you're a misfit here? Unless, you are a SCOAMT supporter? I think Ace welcomes all here unless you attack others or threaten to kill people. I still have page you sent posted for me in June about too much water vs. sodium in system. It's not an issue now & I think it was a summer thing & spending all day outside w/o eating.

Posted by: Carol at November 27, 2014 02:36 PM (sj3Ax)

94 Thanks, PaleRider. Glad you had a fulFilling day. I love spending time with Mom. I see her a couple times a week, even if only for a few minutes. she still seems 50 to me... Then I realize that I am almost 50, and she is almost 80. Enjoy the time you have with the ones you love. On a side note - the Eastwood movie "Pale Rider" is starting on ION TV @ 8pm eastern time.

103 ALH, Good Luck I know for past few years if you buy from Saks online today & spend $100 you get free shipping, if you spend $45 at Clinique & I like Super Rescue Anti oxidant moisturizer ($47) you get free gift & $25 Saks Gift Card. That was my shopping for me today. Make sure you write down codes. I almost cancelled order when I saw shipping cost. I have been wearing YSL ParinEDP for so long I don't remember but YSL online has 20% off for a few more days. I don't like Lancôme products except for mascaras. They are having 20% off from November 30-December 7. I thought you may be interested in some of these.

105 Mr. H is very tall and it's hard to find things that fit him properly. He has to try everything on. He needs new trousers, and that's why we're going shopping. Pants in his size are expensive and I'm hoping to get a deal.

106 ALH, I'm very small & can't find clothes to fit me. Past 15-20 years clothes have grown new sizes to Double 00 & I some cases Triple 00o & are bigger than old size 2! I have small hips & hips cannot grow. Women's dresss size 4 used to fit but since 2013 they started making for big butts & no boobs!
