S! Finally! S!

Okay, you're going to think this is dumb, probably, as I did at first. CNN ran the following AP story.

The whole story is "S." And then "Copyright AP." Not super funny, maybe, but this Fark thread gets a lot of mileage out of it, with arguments about whether or not the story is biased, etc.

But it's the photoshops that are really funny. Like FoxNews trying the spin the story, or, especially, this in-depth Time magazine analysis.

Thanks to Sinistar.

Uh oh, did you see the disclaimer? They've copyrighted "s."  Now you can't uze more than three without violating fair uze.

4 Hey..I own the copyright to all things ass!

Oh, you said "s"?

5 OK, its a bit dumb, but hey, dumb stories are doubleplusundead bread and butter. I thought it was kinda funny, but the Farkers really carried it.

G:  16%

Q:  6%

F:  11%

Ron Paul:  65%

10 Heh, Bryan at HA ran a poll as to what the failed terrorist plot was distracting us from. A lot of people asked where Ron Paul was...

11 Thanks God the fairness doctrine didn't get anywhere, or we'd have G too.

12 I've always liked S. Has curves in all the right places. Not like that fatty 'C', or that boney 'N'. And don't think I'm a freak or anything, but even the lowercase 's' looks pretty good.

13 ha!  you won't see truthiness like S on faux noise, now will you?

To all thoce koncerned about the rickc of violating the AP'c kopyright on "s," I kommend the cubcitution of the letter "c," one of whoce two pronunciationc is identikal to it.

Of kource, for perfekt klarity we muct renounce the uce of "c" for itc alternate "k" cound, but really, how bad would that be?

It's really easy to get under Johnson's skin, and you need not be discourteous. Just ask resonable questions with whose basis he disagrees. He'll go berserk quickly.

I know.

20 I remember S when he was just a two-bit letter hanging out in cheap signs and left-wing pamphlets.  Guess he figured out how to get to the big-time.

21 Thure, you think ith funny, but you never had to rethite the preamble
to the Conthituthion in front of your clathmateth in fourth grade.

Eth! We hathe it, we do, prethiouth! Eth!

(Lithp? What lithp?)

22 Wait! A dark new theory of a bigoted undercurrent emerges. You have to
ask youself: what demographic of the population uses a lisping "s" to
define its cultural norm?  It's a shibboleth of Eth! And CNN is
complicit! (Complithit! heh.)

This "S" is just a teaser for a whole new series highlighting how mere
human sounds are now racist indicators. The "S" is just the beginning.
Soon, we'll have an expose on the virulent "SH" so problematic to certain illegal immigrant demographics.

23 CNN looks to have a big S-hit here.

S:  "Well, Wolf remember without me we would hve just one of a lot of things"

Wolf Blittzer:  "Are you a gay-Letter?"

S:  "Let me me answer this way; I've seen the fronts and backs of all sorts of letters.  I like it all."

WB: "I see.  Let's move on to the situation in Iraq.  There is a rumor going around in Washington that you let Vice President Cheney deliberately and unjustifiably insert you at the end of the term WMD.  What's your response to these charges?"

S: " That was the intelligence we had at the time and I stand by my insertion."

25 The Time cover was the best. The words in the background seal the deal. "Sloppy Seconds" indeed...

As in 'S'cotland?

I smell a consipracy.

Posted by: jmflynny at June 30, 2007 07:56 AM (iAdm7)

27 No, jmflynny.
Not 'S' as in Scotland.

'S' as in Scandi.
Those CNN buggers are trying to make it easier for the Scandis to take over in cahoots with their New York Money Men.
