1 Prayers for Jim Hoft to get well.

2 I know Jim. He is a, funny guy who cares deeply about our Republic, or what's left of it. We are praying for him.

3 Thanks, Ace.  GWP is one of the best.

4 Jim Hoft is a good man if his site is any indication. On it with regard to the prayers.

5 Odd timing.. I was just over there looking for an update on GWP. Well done, Breitbart newsies.

And prayers for Jim.

7 All the best to GWP.

8 O/T: Want to watch a libtard explode into littlerainbow pieces? Suggest that the chemical weapons that Assad used were those non-existent WMD's from Iraq. It's like zero-to-insane in nothing flat. They are locking into formation like the Spartans in 300 doing the turtle, all huddled up with their shields pointing out. IF that is the case, that those weapons DID come from Iraq, holy shit, the whole narrative unravels. Assuming someone reports it. Never mind....

9 I saw him at the FreedomWorks Denver Blogcon a couple of years ago. Definitely a warrior.

No, if the intervention is "thin-skinned, divisive, unqualified, economically illiterate and historically ignorant" he'll be perfect.

24 Speaking of California.  The Principal for Fairview Elementary is now in the clink.  She has been arrested on the charge of murder.  Her husband was found in a field dead with multiple gunshot wounds.  Naturally people don't think the woman could have done something like this.

34 Okay...

I just finished an EPIC rant that is only slightly on topic.  I would like to post it (mostly just to send MWR to her bunk) but don't want to break the blog.

Is it possible to copy/paste in here?

35 Star-Advertiser has an online poll asking if the President should consult with Congress before attacking Syria.

So far 83% say Yes.  Or 2,251 votes.
Only 17% say No.  Or 471 votes.

36 for a good read, try "The Subversive Family" by Ferdinand Mount ( an English dude, with that moniker ).

Published in the 90s by The Free Press; makes the case that families have always faced threats from whoever has governing authority:  The state, the established church, political groups while in power

57 Y'all are doing a good thing on helping Jim Holt out. I go there occasionally and he does good work. Best wishes to Jim on getting well soon.

I've noticed that the HQ has been giving Stacey McCain quite a bit of link love lately; yet the HQ is not even listed on Stacey's favorites blogroll.

I just loved John Ekdahl's twitter smackdowns of the MFM and Glenn Thrush. Glenn should now be able to write on gay issues with authority after the metaphorical asshole embiggening he got from John.

I'm pretty sure he didn't offer Glenn the common courtesy of a reacharound, either.

58 Slightly O/T, but fucking epic.  The following issue came up today while discussing a Syria with a dis-illusion Obama voter:

"I thought Obama was smart, and effective.  I wanted to believe him.  He just SPOKE to me."

I responded thusly, and simply had to share.

That's the problem.  We got all emotional and actively IGNORED evidence to the contrary.  So, America - you brought this on yourself.  We deserve every bit of scorn, every scrap of derision and all the mockery the world has to offer.  The problem isn't Obama, it's a people willing to elect him based on NOTHING but words.  Empty promises, vague proclamations and the fucking unbridled arrogance to actually say out loud: "History will record this as the moment when the oceans began to recede and the planet began to heal," and FUCKING MEAN IT!!

His record was out there.  As a community organizer in Chicago, he spent a fuckton of money on the schools, and not only did things fail to improve, but they got worse.  He's never successfully run, operated, worked for, dabbled in or tried anything in his life except being elected to the next higher office because he READS well.  That's it.  That's his great cosmic power.  And the incredible hubris he's brought with him is getting people KILLED because he has destabilized an already rocky world.

His answer to everything from healthcare to gun control to Syria has been 'because I want it.'  That's not what a smart person says, it's what a fucking toddler says.  But he's been coddled and told how special he is his entire life, and now, in the big-boy chair, he can't hack it.  He's never faced adversity on any real level and now here it is, punching him in the dick and he just stands there and pouts.  People are DYING because he can't make a decision.  He can't make a decision because he can't fucking FATHOM that someone wouldn't do what he wants.  That's not intelligence.  He's not smart.  He's arrogant, self-centered, self-righteous and thin-skinned.  He is ignorant of the world and truly believes, as an article of faith, that there is conflict in the world because America is bad.  Period.

I do not want that man leading this nation.  Have we 'made poor decisions'  Yup.  Could we have done more/less in certain situations?  Sure.  Is America the single greatest force for good in the history of the planet?  Abso-fucking-lutely.  Our president does not believe that.

WE are the problem.  We were so concerned with being labeled as racist or bigoted that we allowed a man with no record of any success in any endeavor of any kind to TALK HIS WAY into the White House.  We believed a man who had never achieved anything of note would suddenly - through the force of his speeches - transform the world.

When you say it like that, it sounds ridiculous, but look back.  Look at 2008 and tell me it was anything more than hormonal teenaged girls screaming over a boy-band rock star.
