2 Ace,
Please try to push this story to the biggest blogs. Instapundit, PowerLine, Althouse, Hugh Hewitt and Volokh have the power to push this into the MSM.

And that lawyer deserves all the press he can get. Fucker! *spit*

3 HotAir and Malkin, too.

Allah Pundit should love this red meat stuff.

Anyone got some goodfella's outa Chitown that could have a lil "chat" with this asshat?

If not, how about the Illinois State Bar? Get Malor to do something useful by filing a brief or w/e.

Obviously, the key now is to keep this story alive in the blogosphere... if someone like O'Reilly gets a hold of it, it'll run on its own from there. The MSM won't care in Chicago- despite the fact that it's a good story, unless charges are preferred in court, it doesn't fit the template- the only angle that the MSM would care about is a lawyer facing disbarring for committing a felony. If the DA won't pursue it, most reporters won't follow it.

As a matter of fact, for the record- we couldn't follow a story unless it was criminally-related and given to us with an official press release from the police or DA.

I don't know the leanings of any of the Chicago papers, but if there are any that are friendly to our point of view, it'd be worth forwarding the story to them.

But, hopefully, someone will get after this fucking prick. It'd be worth forwarding this not only to O'Reilly, but to Hannity as well... perhaps Beck.

8 Scumbag.

They should go after him where it hurts the most -- his license.

9 One of those offices is Lake County, right? Anyone have any contacts thataways?

I see InstaHeh has the story now.

10 If ever anything fit the category of a "hate crime" this is it.

11 Does anybody know if prosecutors have to face reelection in Chicago?  I realize that Chicago is a completely machine run town but I suspect that with enough emails and phone calls from Illinois residents, the District Attorney might find that the path of least resistance might be to prosecute Mr.Grodner.

Certainly if, like many DAs, he has ambitions to hold higher office it might be a good thing for him to be known as the prosecutor who took care of one of America's fighting men and showed an arrogant lawyer that he is not above the law.  That would be better than getting a reputation of shafting a Marine on his way to Iraq so that he can take care of his lawyer crony.

One other thing is that if anybody in Iowa or New Hampshire gets a chance to question Barak Obama, you might want to ask him if all Chicago lawyers hate Marines like Jay Grodner does.

13 I'm going to check tomorrow at work and see if we know anyone who can put pressure on him.  My bosses may be huge freaking liberals but The Big Boss is a veteran and he would punch the guy in the face himself.

Posted by: alexthechick at December 30, 2007 08:34 PM (ZG2QS)

14 The easy solution, of course, is to key the lawyer's car.  I bet it's a nice one, and shouldn't be hard to find.

A brick to a rear window and molitov (Val-u-rite, of course) cocktail to finish.  Awfully hard to track down the perp of that kind of random crime...

15 I am an attorney in Chicago who is disgusted but unfortunately not surprised. Please contact me(I gave a real email) if you would like any assistance. I would be honored to donate some time for this Marine.

16 As much as I want to send an email to this guy, I do have to wonder. Even though mine would not involve profanity or threats (for I am not that stupid), could this guy start filing lawsuits against bloggers and emailers who bring this stuff up?

I blogged it and forwarded the Blackfive entry to Hot Air and Michelle Malkin, though I am sure I wasn't the only one.  Scumbag.

Tried to email him...my email is an AOL account and my email was immediately returned because of a full inbox.  According to the Blackfive comments section, his website is now down and his contact phone numbers all disconnected.  Looks like he made a great career move.

Lesson:  don't piss off Marines.

Forget the Sun Times. They make Pravda look like National Review. Even theTribune is iffy these days, although, they have a hardon for Blagojevich lately, and want to see him gone, which is a good thing.

Does anybody know if prosecutors have to face reelection in Chicago?

The State's Attorney is elected every 4 years, and was just elected to a new term this year, so he's not going to do a thing about this, unfortunately. Saying that this is a machine-run town doesn't even begin to explain it. Nepotism and cronyism have a stranglehold on things here, and it is getting worse.

19 Mr. Grodner? Next time you key a Marine's car... make sure it's mine. Please?

21 Be creative.
Send him business.  Lots of business.  Have his firm fill the appointments book with plenty of new clients.
Who never show.
Have him sitting at his desk, fiddling with his Mont Blanc,  wondering where his billable hours have gone.

22 There have been many great legal suggestions made, and also the ideas about keeping the story alive in the media. They hopefully will make Grodner's life difficult. But this guy really needs to be put into the hospital for an extended stay, and feel the pain.

23 I heard about this on the radio today and came home and did a search om MSN.com; found nothing.  Did a Google search and got plenty.  I am sending this article to all my contacts.

29 It's clear that pursuing a criminal case can feel good but ultimately the prosecutor will be the one to decide whether to go forward or not. Ii don't think he cares enough about it, this lawyer, is not just too sure of himself, which sets him up for some low-level legal guerrilla warfare like some criminal background checks or a report to the Illinois State Bar. I think he won't be disbarred or suspended, but he will definitely have to answer some questions.

30 A lawyer gives always the best in order to defend his client. This is because the client is the one who pays.Personally I don't believe that I would like to do that.In my mind justice is on the top of priorities and I couldn't defend a criminal.Last year I've attended with one of my friends a course where we received  cyber security degrees and we also learned some interesting things about this job.
