62 etymology of honkey is unknown, per google and wikipedia, but this speculation from wikipedia seems plausible enough: Honky may also be a variant of hunky, which was a deviation of Bohunk, a slur for Bohemian-Hungarian immigrants in the early 1900s.[4] Honky may have come from coal miners in Oak Hill, West Virginia. The miners were segregated; blacks in one section, whites in another. Foreigners who could not speak English, mostly from Europe, were separated from both groups into an area known as "Hunk Hill". These male laborers were known as "Hunkies".[5]

109 81 another possibiilty is this: I have often heard the brooklyn/nyc accent referred to as a "honking" one. (And it is, when you think about it.) It's possible that blacks from the south came up to NYC, and, to their southern-drawl ears, heard the white new yorkers as "honking" when they spoke. thus, honkey. I just made that up tho. Posted by: ace at April 29, 2015 09:30 PM (PA7DS) Could be. Makes as much sense as anything. There's a woman who works down the street from me who is from Boston. She has a voice like a foghorn. 172 According to historian David Hackett Fischer, "cracker" goes all the way back to 18th century Britain and was used to describe the people from the English-Scottish border region who became the "Scots-Irish" of America. According to Hackett, "cracker" was an English perjorative for "a low and vulgar braggart." An English visitor wrote back home in 1766: "I should explain to your Lordship what is meant by Crackers; a name they have got from being great boasters; they are a lawless set of rascals on the frontiers of Virginia, Maryland, the Carolinas and Georgia, who often change their abode."

I've sat middle plenty of times.  You sit with your hands in your lap.  And nobody makes any "oopsies" working the shift.

But, the times they are a changing.  Not near as many manual shifts around as there used to be.

This is what I think a lot of people do not get, particularly those who have never lived in a city. Cops get to deal with all the shitty stuff most of us do not want to deal with, much like soldiers although to a much lesser degree. If you fuck around with a cop, particularly a cop in a big city who deals with dangerous fucks everyday, you are an idiot. Doesn't matter if you think it's fair.

If he punished Israel and Judah, we can't expect him to look the other way at what we do. Have you read The Harbinger and Rabbi Cahn's follow-up book? Pretty heady stuff. On the other hand, wouldn't it be wonderful if President Obama became a serious Christian? It's not my place to judge the state of his soul, but imagine what would happen if he announced that he has had a change of heart and is now pro-life.

------

1. Local leftist government views business almost exclusively as a revenue extracting opportunity.  Raises taxes and creates string of ordinances and regulations all designed to extract money in a death by a thousand paper cut method.

2. Businesses tire of it and move to cities, counties, states with structures that make are simpler and less restrictive.   Some of the population follows over time.

3. Local government reacts to lower percentage of tax revenue from business, and flat to declining average income of residents, by viewing their citizens and passerby's more and more as an exploitable revenue opportunity

4.  Police become the revenue arm of the government.  Speed traps, ticket quota's, fines for ever increasing violations of ever increasing local ordinances.  "Court Day" is the big revenue generator, with your choice being to pay the fine or stand in line all night for your chance to argue your case.  You have a decent chance of avoiding the fine, but you must be able to afford a lawyer and/or be able and motivated enough to stand in line all night.

5. Local politicians say their "voices are being ignored" when the pyramid scam reaches this point.  There are inevitable cries for more support from the state and federal government, along with neighboring cities and counties.

6. There are pleas for others to "understand the underlying issues/root cause",  while completely pretending that 1-5 did not happen.

7.  Then they get re-elected by the people they are persecuting.

Every damn day getting called into deal with bar fights, domestic disputes, road rage, it just has to make you much less tolerant of any sort of bullshit. And in the city you have to deal with a lot of irrational actors who might not believe in registering their weapons. I won't ever excuse police going to far but I give them a lot more leeway than most and wonder if people understand what will happen if they stop thinking its worth it.

229 I can't recall the source but in the run-up to the 2008 election a very conservative source opined that when Obama effed-up the way we all knew he would (either through design or straightforward incompetence knowing he's a 100 IQ if he's lucky), that the black community would start saying Obama "isn't really black". I'm glad that day might be coming even though it being base on attacking him for not doing enough to start the Race War and not over the Obama economy and amnestia massively, massively screwing the black community is disappointing.

235 Loving the comments on that Rolling Stone article, Bernie Sanders will pull back the curtain on the corruption in Washington DC and the workers of the world will unite to create an American Socialist paradise.

But only ignorant haters believe that Bernie Sanders is a socialist!  He's a middle of the road moderate, not a puppet of the evil right wing oligarchs like Obama is.

These people really do live in a world of their own...

Also, while I was at the site, I noticed another article:  Hillary Clinton is turning into a cross between Nixon and Belichick.  I'm going to save that one for when RS inevitably endorses Hillary Clinton.
