Ace: This New Rubio Poll Makes Me Want To Dork Alan Grayson In the Squeakhole
Marco Rubio: Ugh. Even If You're Gay That's Nasty
Ace: I Wouldn't Do It in a Gay Way, Marco. I Would Do It... Like a Viking

Quinnippiac now has Rubio at 46%, which means... well assuming it's true he can't really lose under virtually any scenario.

Republican Marco Rubio holds a solid 46 – 33 percent likely voter lead over Gov. Charlie Crist, running as an independent in the race for Florida’s U.S. Senate seat, with Democrat U.S. Rep. Kendrick Meek at 18 percent, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today.

Geraghty wonders if he'll hit 50% in a three-way race. I reckon so.

Best Case Scenario: Florida: Time for another of CAC's maps. He notes that many of his predictions are coming true.

Again, dark red is what's already held; bright red are districts with at least a 20% of going GOP.

Eh, Rubio's a lock. Time to focus attention on other races.

I suspect the stock market will crash between now and November. Ramp ups like the one we saw in September tend to unwind violently. If that happens, voters are going to be looking for incumbent's scalps. Anything and everything will be in play.

If he can maintain 45.....Rubio can't lose. Meeks is never going to get below 18%. That leaves Mr. Orange Tan with 37%. The African American community in Florida will not abandon him. The real concern for Democrats (yea, I know, you don't care) is that if Meeks continues to falter, the African-American voters just say the hell with it. In that case, the Democrat running for governor in Florida probably goes down as well.

Meeks is running ads to keep the Dems from voting for Crist.

Doesn't have a choice. Crist peels off more of Meeks votes than Rubio. Pretty soon, Crist is going to have to start taking on Meeks. If that happens, Rubio is in a great position, he can stay above the fray, talk about core issues, and let Meeks and Crist throw mud at each other.

We are looking now at a MINIMUM pickup of 6 in the Senate.

Likely pickup of 8.

And the truly amazing thing is how much the cycle has changed in 22 months. Go back to November, 2008. The talk was that the Democrats would be able to break the mold and have 3 straight years of pick ups in the Senate. In terms of endangered Democrats, they had Reid, Lincoln and "Bong", and Bong was endangered only because he who can not be named was contemplating a run  and no body else on their radar. The Democrats, however, were targeting at least 8 Republican seats - Florida, Ohio, Missouri, New Hampshire (no secret Judd Gregg was retiring), Kentucky (where Bunning was absolutely in the shitter), North Carolina (Burr appeared vunerable), Lousianna (Vitter had disclosed his affair) and possibly a special election in Nevada (Ensign had just disclosed his affair and the thought was he may have to resign).

22 months later, none of these seats are vunerable. Barack Obama did not heal the planet or cure the oceans, but he sure in the hell made the GOP a lot healthier.

93 Geraghty wonders if he'll hit 50% in a three-way race. I reckon so.

I think so too. Maybe just get there but I think he is just about a lock now. But these latest polls are both great and bad in a way. Crist's fall before is entirely explained by the interest in the primaries. It's hard to generate heat for a race you aren't in. He's is gaining now, slowly and all at Meek's expense. If he falls much further he may even lose the majority of the AA vote to Crist. Also all AA candidates over poll. If this poll has Meek at 18% he is really at 15% or more likely 13% and Crist in the high 30s. At this rate Meek won't even break into double digits come election day. The question is now has Rubio topped out? Has every Independent he's likely to get already broke towards him? Probably, but I think Crist has run out of votes too. It will be closer than it should be if a stronger candidate than Meek was running but Rubio wins.

95 Nancy has never once polled below 70% in her district, and that was two years ago when Cindy Sheehan ran against her, winning an entire 16% of the vote.

The Republican didn't even win 10%, in a race against the two bug-f*cking-craziest women on the national stage. (Think of that - Pelosi's district had 60% more people voting for CINDY SHEEHAN than the GOP.)

She'll have to be carried out of office feet first.

But there is much joy in seeing her booted from the Speaker's Office in shame and ignominy. ("Schadenfreude" seemed a little sesquipedantic, IYKWIMAITTYD.)

Steny Hoyer, OTOH, might have a surprise in his in-box come Wednesday morning, and an awful lot of lobbying agencies will be receiving resumes that week...

How likely and how soon do you think before Lieberman chooses to caucus with the Republicans if they gain the majority? During the lame duck? And if the margin means that he would cause the majority to switch, do you think that he'd do it?

Rumor is he is weighing an endorsement of McMahon.

He will be a very liberal member of the caucus but sensing he will likely lose in 2012 anyway, id peg it at 50/50 he decides to caucus with the Republicans.

I think he hates the party that much- to fuck them over in the lame duck and the last 2 years.

Nancy's future will depend not on her own election (she will win....lets be honest here) but on how bad November is. If the Dems lose 41-50 in the House, she might be able to hang on to her leadership position. But, lets implement the CAC worst case situation (you think I can spell the other s word - please). Lets mix in a little Dick Morris as well. Lets say you start seeing loses in the 70-80 range. At that point, she has little hope of retaining her position. Even her hard core leftist supporters will realize that Nancy and her 18% approval rating nationally are toxic.

Faced with certain defeat, she may elect to just fall on the sword rather than return to be a back bencher. Maybe a sweet job offer from the Obama administration pops up (Ambassador to the Holy Sea, that way, Nancy can remind the Pope daily what the Catholic teachings really are).

Her future is tied directly to the election. If the Dems retain their majority, she is safe. Lose but not by a lot....who knows. Mass wipe-out, she is probably moving on to another job or retiring to spend more time with the kids.

If things turn out to be the 100+ slaughter Dick Morris has postulated, I don't think she would even retain any slot as "ranking Member", and she probably would resign and take an ambassador position to anywhere. That way she still gets to travel on important planes with a bodyguard (no more Secret Service, but the State Department's got a team almost as good).

The florida map is looking more and more likely (just noted you uploaded it Ace) of all of my tsunami scenario maps. The midwestern map is looking about 65% likely with a few outside shots probably just that.

Between the two you will likely get 3/4s of all the seats you need for the majority in the House.

In fact if one looks at polling, FL-8, FL-24 are now leaning GOP pickups, FL2 and FL-22 are still tossups- even with Klein's internal polling.
