— Dave in Texas From Nashville!
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Former Vice President Al Gore launched a three-year, multimillion- dollar advocacy campaign Monday calling for the U.S. to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions. The Alliance for Climate Protection's campaign, dubbed "we," will combine advertising, online organizing and partnerships with grass- roots groups to educate the public about global warming and urge solutions from elected officials.
There's "we". And there's "you". And in three years and $300MM dollars later, "you" better get with the program.
My favorite part:
An advertising campaign will equate the climate-change movement with other grand historic endeavors, like stopping fascism in Europe during World War II, overcoming segregation in the United States and putting the first man on the moon.
That's. How. Important. This. Is.
I think I would rather be watching the endless stream of pre-primary campaign advertising you just know is happening in Pennsylvania right now than watch this crap. With my eyelids peeled back. And to give it the perfect ending, a little of the Ludwig Van.
Yeah. I'm that pumped.

...greenhouse gas emissions...
Maybe he could just shut his mouth and we'll conduct a study to see if the emissions are reduced. Give us 15 to 20 years and we'll get back to you.

Thanks for the Global Warming that's been coming down all damn day here in Minneapolis, Al.
Don't worry- you can always claim that Global Warming is to blame when it melts.

Can you imagine how many lives could be saved RIGHT NOW with that $300 million? How much food and medicine could be purchased? Instead, it's going to pissed away as propaganda.
Bastards.
Yeah, but can you imagine how many millions of dollars of "carbon credits" Gore's business will be able to sell if successful? It's not propaganda, it's marketing.

To those who asked if it snowed in Nashvile,
No, it didn't. Temps in Nashville have been in the 50s and 60s, with the official 1800 temp being 68o F (20o C). A warm front is moving through the Southeast. Birmingham's 1800 temp is 63, and Atlanta's 1900 temp is 56.

Gore has made so much money off this scam, I can't see him stopping until he's wrung every last dollar out of all the suckers who believe in this AGW nonsense.
Even though he's made a lot of money off of AGW, I don't think it's a scam for him. He really believes in it. It's no surprise that Gore attended divinity and then journalism school when he got back from Vietnam. Deep down I think he's always wanted to lead a crusade for an important issue. The environment and QGW in particular was just the issue he settled on.

like stopping fascism in Europe during World War II
Which was soooo very important the USA stayed out of it for 2 years while we Canadians (1/10th your size) fought the good fight. Alone, with Britian. Oh and Australia too.
Not that we're bitter or anything. Oh, you-all did break hundreds of international rules & laws by selling us weapons and stuff. On the sly of course. For a profit. So thx!

It's as important as the war on fascism, and -since Al didn't even mention it- apparently, WAY more important than the war on Islamofascism.
You stay clueless, Al.

I'm so sick of hearing about global warming and climate change. Not to mention carbon and carbon credits.
How bout we start a "reverse carbon credit" program?
For every dollar someone sends me, I'll grill a steak on my charcoal grill. Or buy a pack of incandecent(sp?) light bulbs. Maybe sit in my SUV with the engine running for no reason at all.
The possibilities are endless!

Al's gonna spend $300 million bucks on his giant advertising campaign. Of which, he's kicking in $10 million bucks, from his stupid movie and his stupider nobel prize.
Who is kicking in the other $290 million?
This question weirdly did not come up during the tongue-bath he received last night on 60 Minutes.
I had started looking for this earlier today and can't find it. The media sleuths have really outdone themselves on this one. I guess the question is as welcome as a fart in church. (I used that one on purpose.)

Mr. Gore! Tear Down This House!
</RRV>
Seriously. This dude might could get some credibility if he would rent a front end loader and a couple of dump trucks and tear his 28,000 sf house down to the foundation and haul it off to the dump. And then build in it's place a 1000 sf tar paper shack with a space heater and a swamp cooler. Only then will I take his bullshit seriously. OK No. I wouldn't even take his bullshit seriously then, but I would gain a margin of respect for him.

This guy used to be a favorite target of ours when I was working in Nashville (Hank, if you're reading, I used to work at Channel 5)... we were among the first to put his power bill on the air, and our investigative team were the ones to note his zinc mine.
It offends me to no end that this prick still infests my beloved ex-home... the only people who give him the time of day are usually the other stations in town. What an asshat.

"...Gore's graduate school record - consistently glossed over by the press - is nothing short of shameful. In 1971, Gore enrolled in Vanderbilt Divinity School where, according to Bill Turque, author of "Inventing Al Gore," he received F's in five of the eight classes he took over the course of three semesters. Not surprisingly, Gore did not receive a degree from the divinity school. Nor did Gore graduate from Vanderbilt Law School, where he enrolled for a brief time and received his fair share of C's.* http://www.larryelder.com/Gore/goredubiousrecord.htm

I heard that show. Beck being Beck pressed the point (to his credit) and asked if Moncton had anything to back up that speculation, at which point Lord M just kind of flipped his pockets inside out and showed he had nothing. But his argument, which Beck was buying and which makes sense to me, is that when you check the QUI BONO compass, China and India are exactly where the needle points.
My own Google-fu is spasmodic and ineffectual, but is Drudge or somebody out there actually digging into this?
Seriously this is the economic equivalent of treason, not a term I use lightly. Al is pushing hard for Kyoto-proto or some new version thereof, and it's very precisely engineered to do only one task: cripple the U.S. economy, and that of the industrial nations of Europe. Plus (grrrrr) Canada, I guess.

The simple fact that AlGore will protect himself from for the many decades he has yet to walk the earth is that THERE IS NO GLOBAL WARMING. For nearly ten years temps were flat. This last winter blew the average like Downs kid at the SATs. Snow in Baghdad; the coldest winter on record in China; deep sea bouys detecting ocean COOLING; the well known and recorded solar cycles....
There just ain't no such thing as global warming, anthropogenic or otherwise and I have been aghast these many years seeing nearly everyone in national politics taken in by this pathetic and transparent hokum. Or were they?

It's mighty hard to sort out the liars from the dupes, if that's your question. But speaking of Glenn Beck, here's something I hope he's right about: He predicts that these voodoo climatologists are about 4-to-5 years out from becoming THE BIGGEST LAUGHINGSTOCKS ON EARTH, once the debunking science gets a little bit better publicized. Which will happen, he figures, because even the combined weight of the MSM won't be sufficient to keep the truth under wraps forever.
